Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club
Played On 08/25/2016One of the best designs around
Few courses can rival the Edmonton Petroleum Club in terms of design. The only other one in the Edmonton area would be the Northern Bear. This is a great walking course with enough contour to make things interesting and scenic. Although a private course, if you can get into a tournament or know a member, this is a must play in Edmonton. Excellent practice facilities, good food, friendly staff and all of the amenities that you would expect of a high end public course. Course conditions are excellent in 2016. Pace of play is always excellent based on relatively low numbers of members; plus it is a private course with people who know how to play and are conscious of golf etiquette. Definitely one of the top courses in Edmonton if not THE top.
Windermere Golf and Country Club
Played On 08/08/2016Great course in a nice location
The Windermere course has recently received some upgrades to the clubhouse and the grounds and the result is very impressive. The course is currently in excellent condition and is very enjoyable to play with pace, staff and members very accommodating. There are certainly a few hills to conquer and as a result there are a couple of blind shots that will be encountered. For that reason, I personally am not a fan of every hole but generally the course lay out is ok.
Excellent practice facilities and a nice club house with decent food as you might expect at a private course. Definitely in the top 5 in Edmonton.
