Monroe Golf & Country Club
Played On 09/23/2020Nice Course but Disappointing Overall
The positives were the course was very nice although a few greens were in rough shape and the traps were hit and miss. Pace was right at 4 hours but we waited on most shots. Zero Covid-19 precautions. They apparently have not heard of it. The staff member had that typical Golf Now attitude. My playing partner and I had planned on separate carts since we are neighbors and he is health challenged. But the staff told us they charged $20 each for separate carts. Never heard of a course charging $40 for one cart. If you have Covid concerns, avoid this course. Not sure why they use Golf Now if they don’t want the business. Disappointing.
Kiva Dunes Golf Course
Played On 05/17/2020Great Experience
Loved the course. It is very fair. It has sand and water but is not set up to be tricky or extremely hard. Was in great shape. Great Course for first timers and average golfers. Greens are fast but roll true. We had a 8am tee time and finished in under 4 hours. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A Marshall and the cart girls made regular passes throughput the round. We are tourists and will definitely play this every year. It is a little pricey but worth the splurge. We did see three alligators including a 4 footer ON the cart path so I would be aware. Searching.for golf balls in the marshes not a great idea.

New Carts. Very nice. I really like this course. It has several challenging holes that require precise shots. Several high risk, high reward holes as well. I played on a Tuesday and there were four groups in front of me that were playing painfully slow. I know because I drove up to see what the hold-up was and found a full hole or two between the groups. They were standing around until it was their turn to putt and then walk around for several looks at their putt. Need a Marshall to drive through every few hours. I have played here before where this was not an issue. Other than that, it is well worth a try.
Glenlakes Golf Club - Vista/Dunes Course
Played On 05/17/2019Fun Course but they need a course ranger
Played Glen Lakes on a Friday due to the much higher costs of the other courses on the coast. I have played several times before and enjoy the course, especially the change from the Vista to the Dunes course. The course was in good shape and the weather was perfect. My only complaint was the pace of play. I was playing by myself and understand that singles are going to play faster. I patiently followed a threesome in front of me for four holes but finally figured out they had no intention of letting me play through. I watched while they searched for lost balls, debated whose turn it was to play and stood over shots for several minutes before they hit. And of course, they played from the blue tees when the golds were more appropriate. For four plus hours, there was no sign of a course ranger. I finally resolved myself to play several balls but had to stop that when a foursome caught up to me. Enjoyed the course but needs to do a better job of keeping the pace of play.
Glenlakes Golf Club - Vista/Dunes Course
Played On 10/26/2016Very Enjoyable Course!
Since I was in the area on a short vacation, I decided to try this course although it seemed to be a little ways off the beach. I am really glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed this course. The course has multiple tee boxes that allow you to adjust your game to the course. I used the white tees and found this to be a pretty tough course from that distance. I was happy that I played with three golfers who were familiar with the course. There are several blind shots where potential trouble awaits. The back nine is somewhat different from the front and allows you a different type of golf experience. I thought the golf employees were all very helpful and friendly. I saw the cute golf girl at least four times which was good. I would certainly recommend the course to anyone in the area. We finished in just under four hours so the pace of play was OK.
