Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Played On 04/21/2020Sand traps galore
Played GCU for the first time today. Nice course, wide fairways, enormous greens, nice rolling greens and large deep traps everywhere.
Course offers multiple tees so you can choose your distance up to 7300 yards.
Go and play. You will enjoy it.
Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
Played On 11/06/2019Surprised at Silverado
Silverado was a pleasant surprise. I had friends visiting and they wanted a course that offered shorter tees. I played the back tees(gold) at 6315 yards. It was a slope of only 116. However, some of the holes contradicted this rating! 5 par 4’s were 400+ yards which included a 441 and 430 yard holes. Two par threes were 210 yards.
The slope and the rating are low because of the smooth, fairly flat greens, large fairways and great conditions of the golf course.
It is a well maintained facility with very friendly people in the Pro Shop and Starter area.
Lone Tree Golf Club
Played On 10/29/2019Very nice
Lone Tree is a very nice facility. The range is big, the putting green is large and well maintained and the course is in great condition. The layout of Lone Tree is very forgiving. Extremely wide fairways, well maintained fairways and rough and large, smooth rolling greens lead to the opportunity to score well.
In my opinion this is a course you will enjoy.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 10/28/2019Surprised
I played Stonecreek this summer and it was in poor condition. After the over seeding it is really in good shape. Greens are good, grass green and lush, tee boxes are good and fairways are well maintained. The course has some very good holes that will give your game a challenge.
Red Mountain Ranch Country Club
Played On 10/24/2019Great challenge
I’ve always enjoyed Red Mountain Ranch CC. The course is coming out of over seeding and is currently cart path only. The conditions are very good on the entire golf course.
Tight fairways with elevated greens and rolling terrain make this golf course a severe challenge.
This course is one of those you play and it is a fight on every hole and when you finish you can’t wait to play it again.
Ken McDonald Golf Course
Played On 10/17/2019good condition
The course was in very good condition considering it was coming out of over seeding. It is a very flat course with most holes straight out in front of you .
The traps are well maintained, greens were good, and the fairways were neatly cut.
Pace of play was very good also. i would recommend this course to anyone
Las Colinas Golf Club
Played On 10/07/2019Just OK
Los Colinas is what it is. I played the Coyote tees (back) at about 6700 yards. The course had not been over seeded but there was grass cuttings laying on most fairways. The traps were hard packed and contained little sand. The greens were really in good condition. Not overly fast but they rolled pretty true.
If you want wide fairways that are surrounded by houses on each side this is your course
I would play it again because I believe it will be in much better condition after they over seed.
Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 09/24/2019Monsoon rain
It is not easy or fair to evaluate McCormick Ranch today. Yesterday we had torrential rain which closed the front 9 of the Palm Course and only the back 9 was open. That nine was very wet with standing water and the, traps were full of water.
I emjythe course but this was a tough day.
Superstition Springs Golf Club
Played On 09/11/2019Getting better
I played Superstition Springs Golf Club about 3 weeks ago. The conditions have improved immensely. As they close for over seeding soon I’m sure it will continue to heal from the hard summer.
Great layout with a large variety of holes.
Red Mountain Ranch Country Club
Played On 09/09/2019Fun time
I love the layout and challenge of Red Mountain Ranch CC. Fairways are fair but the challenge is hitting your irons to elevated greens protected by bunkers.
The course was not as well maintained as I am used to ( crabgrass in areas, thin grass in some fairways and rough greens). But to be fair to the course, it has been a dry, extremely hot summer.
Give it a try. I’m sure you will enjoy the experience.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 08/22/2019Tough day
Stonecreek is a very challenging layout with some outstanding holes. The conditions were not good. Several tees were closed for repair, crabgrass was on almost all tee boxes, greens were rough from aeration and they were still wet from not being cut.
I will return but not until the weather cools and the course can be worked on and recover from the summer heat.
Power Ranch Golf Club
Played On 06/12/2019Nice course
Trilogy was in very good condition. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were well manicured. The greens were soft to receive approach shots and were average speed for putting. The constant sloping and undulations made for a tough day of putting.
Great day.
Thanks for the great review, Titus. We're glad you enjoyed your time at Trilogy, and we hope to see you again soon!
Orange Tree Golf & Conference Resort
Played On 05/23/2019TLC needed
Orange Tree is an older course in Scottsdale. The course is in need of a number of things
- tee boxes are uneven and chewed w
- traps are firm and thin
- greens are mostly green sand
We moved at a great pace and all the employees were extremely nice.
I played this on a “Hot Deal”. I’m not sure the course is worth a full green’s fee.
Apache Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/10/2019Pleasure playing
I have never played Apache Creek until today. I played from the back tees (about 6800 yards) and it played shorter than that due to the runout on the tee ball.
There is a lot of waste area just off most fairways and greens but where there was grass was extremely well maintained. Tees were great, fairways great, traps were groomed extremely well and the greens rolled very smoothly.
The course is basically flat but there are some nice water holes and a lot of length if you choose to play back (I.e. - #10 is and 596 yard par 5 and 18 ends your day with a 495 yard par 4!)
All said... I really enjoy the course and would encourage you to try it.
Superstition Springs Golf Club
Played On 05/06/2019Love the layout
Played from the green tees (6700 yards). Grass is a lit thin in some areas and the traps are inconsistent. However , the greens were nice and the variety and layout of the course is outstanding.
Superstition Springs Golf Club
Played On 04/23/2019Great day
Superstition Springs has a very good layout ( especially the back 9). The course itself could use some more work and maintenance but overall the course is in pretty good shape.
On 5-6 of the holes local knowledge comes into play due to water in key landing spots.
I really enjoyed the course and will definitely return.
LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 04/04/2019What a day!!
Great day on a great course. The Jones Course is a very fair, hard course. We played the white tees and the slope was 137 from around 6300 yards! Yikes
However, the tees are well maintained, the driving areas are huge, the traps are well groomed and the greens are superb. What really makes this course stand out are the traps. They are everywhere. Almost every hole the sand comes into play on the tee shot and approach shot to the green.
If you want a fair chalky this is the course for you.
LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 04/01/2019Great!!!
The Hills Course at LPGA is outstanding. Even though it rained most of the day, the course was in great condition. Every aspect of the course and driving range was excellent.
If you only have time to play one course on your visit to Daytona Beach play this one!!
Eagle's Pointe Golf Club
Played On 03/29/2019Enjoy the layout
Eagle’s Pointe has a very good layout. We enjoy the variety and challenges of each hole.
The course needs some rain/water. Tee boxes were hard, fairways thin and some greens in poor condition.
Will definitely return.
Superstition Springs Golf Club
Played On 01/02/2019Love this course
My first time playing this course and I loved the layout. It challenges your game in every way. Distance, fast greens, undulating fairways and a multitude of bunkers will get your attention.
On the negative side is the overall condition of the course. The traps are low on sand, all the greens have ball marks and the rough is dormant.
With that said... I will definitely return and would encourage anyone to play Superstition Springs.
Hello, Titus! Thank you for taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass along your feedback to the staff so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting us at Las Colinas Golf Club! We hope you give us another try in the near future!
