Wonderful staff! The front 9 is just an introduction to the back 9. The two couldn't be more different! This course is fun, challenging and rewards good shot placement. Greens, tees and fairways are in excellent condition!
What a great experience!
Ventana Canyon - Canyon Course
Played On 11/23/2014Ventana Canyon continues to delight!
We played the Canyon Course. It was in excellent condition as usual, with moderately fast greens and manicured fairways. Having played nearly all of the Tucson courses open to the public, I would have to say that Ventana Canyon is tops! We played as a twosome, paired with a single, and we never had to wait on a tee for the group in front. Pace of play was excellent. All of the staff were courteous, helpful and enthusiastic, making us feel like we were really appreciated. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to experience a top quality course in excellent condition!
El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course
Played On 04/25/2014Great course, marginal conditions.
I have played La Canada many times in the past few years. This time was a disappointment because the fairways were rough, dry and hard. The greens were in fairly good condition, as were the Tees.
Fred Enke Golf Course
Played On 03/31/2013This a fun course with a relaxed atmosphere.
Fred Enke is a wonderful municipal golf course. It has lots of varied terrain, and challenging and not-so-challenging holes. The desert setting and the mountain views compliment the golf experience.
While the cart paths are mostly dirt/gravel, and very rough and dusty, the tees, fairways and greens are in good condition.
This is a hidden gem for municipal course players in south Tucson!
Dell Urich at Randolph Golf Course
Played On 3/27/2013This course is fun and forgiving, but challenging.
Del Urich is not an easy course, but because of the mounds along the fairways and around the greens, it is fairly forgiving for the occasional errant shot. Tees, fairways and greens are in good condition right now. It is probably in the best condition of all of the Tucson City courses today.
Forty-Niner Country Club
Played On 2/06/2013The course conditions are improving week by week.
This is a very nice course with lots of mature trees. The tees and greens are in good shape, but some of the fairways are a bit rough in places. Conditions are improving week by week, and the staff is working hard to get it into excellent shape. It is not too long, with generally wide fairways, and a few blind shots.
All in all, we had a great round, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional course with a relaxed atmosphere.
