I booked a 7:30 tee time, little knowing that because of an afternoon event, the pro shop had scheduled a shot gun start. Getting over my initial surprise, I was paired in a twosome with a club member starting on hole #11. We each had our own cart. I was able to relax as we had no trouble keeping up with the foursome ahead of us, and the member gave me valuable advice on each hole to help me aim for the right spots. Notwithstanding the shotgun start, the pace of play was good and we completed the round in about 4 hours 20 minutes.

If you can stay on the fairways, this course is fine. If you can't, watch out. The bunkers were like concrete and off the fairway is mostly waste land. Very unattractive and very difficult to play in these conditions

On my last visit to Palm Springs three years ago, I played the Valley course at this resort. On this trip I played the Palm course. Both of them are spectacular, well maintained, and with tee boxes to suit every level of golfer from the scratch player to duffers like me with a 24 handicap. The staff are friendly and helpful. Treat yourselves to a great day of golf. Look out for the best rates on the various internet discount sites.

This course is relatively uncrowded, which is surprising considering the excellent price, the friendliness of the staff and the condition of the course. Would recommend it to anyone,
