Great Course for the Average golfer

I always enjoy playing this course especially when you can get a hotdeal rate on golfnow.. The course is great for the average golfer who doesn't expect pristine fairways or greens, and likewise for the novice golfer who wants to play a longer course without being pressured by those who think they're on the PGA tour.
I've seen the course in better shape, but it is still very playable. We had an early morning tee off and pace of play was excellent as the course wasn't too busy.
The staff were very welcoming & friendly, so I'm not sure what the complainers expect.
We look forward to playing here again.

Challenging course with fantastic views

Always enjoy playing this course, greens & fairways were in excellent shape, some tee blocks were in rough shape. Pace of play was very good as the course wasn't too busy. The views are great.
Only complaint is the lack of water or beverage cart available, and considering it was hot + with the undulating terrain & you don't go by the clubhouse from 9 - 10, it made for a long dehydrated back 9 (would have brought a cooler bag if we had known).

Hidden Gem

We received an excellent rate on GolfNow, but regardless we were extremely pleased with this course in every aspect. Great service from check-in, to maintenance crews, to the clubhouse staff.
Course is in great shape including tee blocks, greens, & sand traps. There was a nice variety of holes, enjoyable scenery, and pace of play was excellent. We were also provided with an excellent booklet giving an overview of each hole.
Reasonable beverage & food prices.
We will definitely return to this hidden gem.

Love the Course, putter not required - greens are gone!

Received a very competitive rate on GolfNow, so it's difficult to complain about this course. It has a great layout, fairways, bunkers, etc are in great condition, nice clubhouse & staff are always very friendly.

I didn't come here earlier this year as the prices were far too high, and after playing today, I'm very glad I didn't waste more than the $21 for the round!

Unfortunately they've lost almost all greens. The short par 3 8th hole was a joke with it's temporary green (75 yards from the combined tee blocks) so after hitting the overhead wires above the combined tee block, I didn't bother playing it out. It looks like hole 8's repaired green is possibly the best of all 18!

Hopefully Providence will have their greens repaired by 2016. Will be watching closely, otherwise I won't return!

Fun round of Golf

Harmony is exactly how other golfers describe it, you have to play it to appreciate it! The course is in very good shape. Several greens had two levels making some putts very challenging. Most fairways were fairly wide allowing for some error, although it was a very windy day making the course much more difficult. Golf carts had GPS, although some were apparently not working, but distance markings were easily found throughout the fairways.

Nice clubhouse with excellent beverage prices, especially between 3pm & 5pm.

Only negative comment is the pace of play. It took approx 4 1/2 hours to play 18 holes, didn't mind as I received an excellent same day deal found on GolfNow. Others in the group booked their round on another golf site for a similar price but could play all day, not sure if this is what slowed down the pace in the afternoon?

Great course with competitive rates!

Found excellent rates for this course that meanders through a nice residential community. We were the 1st group to tee off so our pace for 18 holes was excellent. Not sure what happened to the group playing behind us, but they were at least two holes behind by the end of the round.

Fairways were in average condition, but the course appears to be struggling with grab grass on some holes, not that it mattered for my round today. Water and bunker placement make this an enjoyable but somewhat challenging course. There were very few distance markers visible on the fairways or tee off blocks,, so a GPS would help.

Greens were in excellent condition, and very fast!

Nice clubhouse facility.

Narrow fairways, challenging holes

Played from the Blue tees (6575yds) on a very windy day which made many holes somewhat challenging due to the narrow fairways with dunes on each side. Well placed bunkers keep you honest in your shots. Pace was fine, and finished in appox 4 1/4 hrs. For the average golfer, playing white or gold is advisable and you will have an enjoyable round! Excellent GPS in the cart. Some very scenic holes. Greens are challenging but many were in poor condition! Staff were friendly, and offer to clean your clubs at the end of the round.

Excellent Course, some Greens require attention

Played the Oaks Course and we were one of the 1st groups to tee off in the early a.m., pace of play was excellent. The course is nestled amongst the homes in the Solivita Community, and cart paths are well marked to find your way along the course. Would be nice if there was a GPS on the cart as the course was lacking in visible yardage markers, although you can purchase a course description booklet for a few dollars in the clubhouse. Fairways are wide enough to keep you out of trouble, & plenty of well placed bunkers to keep you honest. Some greens were in poor condition, and no doubt will require attention over the nicer months to bring them back to pristine condition! Received an excellent rate on GolfNow, and highly recommend this course!

Excellent Course, slow play!

Orange Lake Legends is a great course, several challenging holes, lots of water along the holes to keep your drives straight. They need a few marshalls to keep players moving, especially when they knew things were moving slowly. Completed 18 holes in just under 5 hours, but oh well, still a relaxing day! Fairways & Greens were in excellent shape! Plenty of birds, gators, & deer observed during our round, guess you notice them more when play is slow!

Enjoyable Course

Received an excellent rate from GolfNow! Our three-some really enjoyed playing HawksLanding. Play moved along fairly well, small logjam on the Back 9. Greens were ok but have been damaged by cold temps in January, received a positive response from Greens Mgr who understood & very apologetic! Top dressing has been applied & hopefully greens will be in good shape in the near future. Valet parking is complimentary, but be prepared to tip a few dollars to the friendly staff.

Challenging greens, Excellent GPS system!

Tangle Creek GC is an enjoyable course to play if you receive a competitive rate. The fairways are fairly wide allowing most drives to stray a little. If you have a big hook or slice, bring plenty of balls as you will be searching for your ball in the fescue located throughout this course. Fairways and tee blocks had been aerated so it was difficult to determine if they may have been in pristine condition earlier in the season. Nice to see course enforcing cart path only, otherwise fairways likely would have been ruined. I believe the course was in better condition many years ago.

The greens are fast, some two tiered, and can be challenging depending on pin placement.

18th hole should be changed to a Par 4, although it is always fun finishing with an eagle or birdie!.

Staff were professional & friendly. The GPS system in the cart offers a large screen & very detailed information, including pace of play! Excellent clubhouse, although beverage prices reflect same ($14.50 for 2 beers from beverage cart).

Received a great price on GolfNow, but it would be great to see every day green fees become more competitive.

Hidden Gem in Muskoka

This course was in pristine condition, challenging & very scenic holes, narrow fairways & fast greens. Elevated tee blocks are flat & in great condition. If you're an average golfer, you may want to consider playing from the red tees on some holes. Remember, you may encounter the odd snake on this course.

Signature Hole 15, par 3, if playing white/blue take an extra club as you may encounter a headwind on the tee blocks, it is unforgiving. Even if you're not playing from the blue/white tee blocks, take a stroll along the boardwalk, it's worth the view.

Clubhouse is still under construction, but looks like it will provide a comfortable stop before/after your round when finished. FYI, No driving range available. Due to temporary clubhouse (trailer) you start on the 8th hole, so a few more hole direction signs would benefit those unfamiliar with the course.

This course will be highly rated when all complete!

Best Value in Simcoe County

A great course for the average golfer. There may be no bells & whistles here, but the course is in very good shape with some challenging holes to offer an enjoyable round, ie the par 4 - 7th hole with it's narrow fairway & green tucked back in the woods, or the par 3 - 17th hole with it's green nestled in front of the pond. The staff are very friendly and offer a small town welcome. Fairways are fairly wide allowing for small mistakes off the tee.
The course offers very competitive rates, and overall it is great value for the money!

Great potential for this enjoyable course!

Overall the course is in very good shape, challenging greens, & four tee blocks for all levels. Great course for the average golfer. Fairways are fairly wide, although the bunker locations & fescue on several holes may get you in trouble with an errant drive. We encountered several wasps on the front 9, possibly attracted to the apple trees.
The staff were very courteous & professional and make you feel welcome! The course has only been around for 8 or 9 years, and it has great potential to become one of the best courses in the area. The clubhouse is only a small double wide type trailer, but it satisfies your needs with beverages & food, along with a small deck. There is a small putting green & driving range for practice before your round.

Beautiful Scenery

Horseshoe Resort's Valley Course may be short in overall distance but still offers several long par 5's. You will be challenged by the narrow fairways on almost every hole. The course is in very good condition with soft greens. Many holes offer amazing views throughout the valley. Playing in late September should offer some very colourful scenery.

A GPS is now provided on your cart & newcomer's to the course are provided with a course tips booklet. Pleasant overall service!
