Old Corkscrew Golf Club
Played On 03/06/2017Awsome
Definetly worth the drive. Excellent as most Jack Niclaus designs are.
It wasvery windy so we lost a few balls.
The greens are lightning fast.
So far it was the best course we played in the Naples/Ft Myers area.
Finally you get what you pay for.
Hibiscus Golf Club
Played On 03/05/2017Difficult with a lot of wind
We started playing in the afternoon. The wind was really blowing, which made it difficult to ger a good score.
The layout is fair, not overly difficult. Fairways are sonetimes to thin, wirh not enough grass underneath the ball.
Greens were not particularly fast.
A nice way to spend an afternoon.
Service was fruendly and correct.
Eagle Lakes Golf Club
Played On 03/03/2017Crowded to the max
Thus nice inland links course ( and the wind was blowing too) is a challenge.
So is the wait at hole 3, the first par 3. When we arrived at the hole we were the 5th flight on the hole. It tool 30 minutes to continue. And of course no marshall in sight.
For the rest we waited not too long on each hole, but our 4 ball was obviously better prepared to play on, than our 3 ball ahead of us.
Golf in Naples is nowhere cheap, but having about 300 players on a day ( we heard that later), makes it harder for me to expect anything less vperfect on a course.
We will not cone back or recommend this course
Eagle Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/02/2017Wonderful but long day
We enjoyed the course very much. It started with the friendly staff at check-in and starter. Very nice people.
The course was interesting in terms of layout, not too difficult, but we still lost a few balls in the water.
The negative was that the flights in front were soooooo slow. The course was already packed due to a bit of rain in the morning,
Lakewood Country Club
Played On 03/01/2017Waste if time and money
There are not many good deals around lately, so we ended up at lakewood.
We were appalled, lots of bold soots on fairways and all types of weed which should not be there.
The greens wre ok in speed and condition, but all with the size of a postage stamp.
After about 8 holes the waiting rwally began. Wow people can be ever so slow. Not a marshall in sight.
We did spend way too much for this very much overrrated short course. Never again.
Plantation Preserve Golf Course
Played On 02/27/2017Hidden gem
What a beautiful course!
When we played in the afternoon it was still very busy, so onthe first 9 we had to wait onevery hole, but still made it in 2.15.
Second half went a lot better, no more waiting.
Layout is phenomenal, with lots of very. Ice views.
Executive at Boca Raton Municipal Golf Course
Played On 02/25/2017Lovely course
Playing on saturday afternoon. Very busy, but the systems works perfectly.
Onthe course we hardly had to wIt more than 1 or 2 minutes at the teebox.
There is lots of water on the course but it does not come into play very often( if you can hit strait.
Overal in just over 4 hours our 4 ball were back at the 19th.
The course is not particularly difficult, except for the greens which are fast and sometimes difficult to read.
We all scored well.
West at Woodlands Country Club
Played On 02/24/2017Good afternoon
Wait a long time for supply of carts is short.
Teeing grounds need better maintenance, also some spots in fairways. Overall conditions fair.
Are we the only ones who use their pitchmarks?
For the rest a very enjoyable afternoon.
DeLaveaga Golf Course & Lodge
Played On 10/01/2015Good course in Santa Cruze
On our way to San Francisco we stayed a few days in the former hippy capital of California. They have a few courses, but delaveaga is value for the miney spent. Fairways were only average, but the greens were good and fast.
The course itself is challenging, but not overly difficult.
We enjoyed our roundwhich we could do in under 4 hours.
Tahoe Paradise Golf Course
Played On 09/27/2015Hidden gem
Attracted by the fantastic cheap deal with GolfNow, we drove 15 minutes from South Lake Tahoe toward this public golfcourse. It is not long, only 4000 yards, but difficult enough through the narrow faiways and the doglegs. On every hole big trees made it very difficult to reach the greens directly. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and although ee had to wait a few minutes on every hole, we were a party of two and ahead of us a party of three with less experience. Within 3 hours we played the course which was in good shape. The greens are reasonably fast.
Beware, this is not a championship course and not in so condition, with our deal ut gets 6 stars for value for money.
Championship at Incline Village Golf Resort
Played On 09/25/2015Very service minded
We were really looking forward to playing this championship course. Unfortunately seven to ten other flights in one group had the same idea. After 4 hours having played 12 holes we gave up and headed for the caddiemaster. On hole 11 we waited for more than 20 minutes. We had already waited on every hole ten minutes on every hole. The three groups in front of us, the rest we could not see were having a lot of fun, with a lot of booze. Most of them could not play very well to put it mildly.
When returning to the clubhouse we talked to a marshall who had been sweared at by people from the group. He was nearly in tears. The caddiemaster was very much embarrassed by what had happened. After talking to his manager we were offered a free replay and tons of excuses. Today we did replay, we had a very good time with another very friendly couple. Within 4.15 hrs we were back at the clubhouse having enjoyed the beautiful course which was in very good shape with very fast greens.
We will return one day, but only if there not be such a big party of loudmouth and drunken players in front of us. Many thanks to the staff who were so much embarrassed, but did their utmost to apologize for the behavior of other players.
Northstar California Golf Course
Played On 09/23/2015One of the best courses ever played
On a beautiful morning we played on this course. The staff greeted us, and although we were earlt we we were allowed to start as soonas we were ready. The course was in pristine condition. The layout with lots of doglegs was interesting and well built. On a few holes there were blind hazards which raised our score, but thR is all in the game.
The Links at Everline
Played On 09/22/2015Spectacular
Wow, what a beauty of a golf course.
Unfortunately it wS very windy when we played, so our scores were below expectations. But to be honest some fairways are so narrow even on another day it would be difficult to play our handicap.
We loved every minute of it.
The Ridge Golf Course & Events Center
Played On 09/20/2015E cellent course
We really enjoyed the trip to the Ridge. We felt welcome. We had an sunday starting time after a tournament, but never had to wait at all. We were teamed up with two locals who helped us with a few suggestions on where not to hot the baal. It improved our score. They were both pleasant to play with, with a similar handicap.
The course itself was in good condition, tee, fairways and greens were really green. The coyrse is not simple, it is not for nothing called the ridge. We lost a few balls in the harzard, but were fortunate that they were marked with red stakes.
Overall a very worthwhile experience. Afterwards we had a beer and a burger in the bar, and were pleased again with the service.
We will recommend this course to everybody!
Morgan Creek Golf and Country Club
Played On 09/18/2015Needs a lot of rework
We were really looking forward to playing Morgan Creek. On our way to Reno we chosed this course baed on reviews on GolfNow.
It started with facilities which were very poor. One toilet, only accessible from the outside of the clubhouse, and not clean!
The course itself is in urgent need of a major upgrade. Tee boxes with hardly any grass and uneven. Fairways with so many bold spots they should have warned us before and placing a big sign that placing within a clublength is necessary if you want to hit from the grass. Btw the second nine were better. Greens were soft, but playing in in the afternoon means you find many pichmarks. On average I repaired 4 or 5 every hole. Also there was an abundance of footsteps with spikemarks on every green.
The layout of the course was interesting, it was strange to see so many undulations or perhaps a better word is different levels in the fairways.
We enjoyed the company of two locals with experience of the course. They helped us keep our score within 5 points of our handicap.
Chardonnay Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2015In the heart of the wine region
Chardonnay golf course is located right between many wineries.
All the holes have very appropriate names as well.
The course conditions for this time of year is average at best. Especially the grass on the fairways is thin with lots of bold spots.
Greens are good, not to fast.
Overall views from the tee boxes are sometimes stunning (hole 16).
A very enjoyable day we had.

Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club
Played On 03/10/2015Above the rest
We play regurlarly on courses which get 4 stars by other players. Wold Wooods golfclub with the Pine Barrens really stands out from the crowd. Very well maintained and spectacular in terms of vies from the tee.
A special positive remark is for the starter and marshalls. They are really more friendly and nice, but also proud , of their course than many others we have met during this holiday trip in the Gulf Coast.
The only criticism is the state of the locker rooms, run down and in need of an upgrade soon.
Plantation on Crystal River - Lagoons Course
Played On 03/08/2015Very old, but pleasant
At 08.00 we were the first to tee off for the day.
As a twosome we did it in just over 3 hours.
The course is old which means that the holes are mostly short, relatiyve to courses built over the last 25 years.
Fairways were not in good shape but the greens were excellent.
Very friendly caddiemaster and marshall.
Playing via Golf now gave us a very good deal $ 15 per person, so absolutely no complaints here.
Quail Hollow Golf Course
Played On 03/06/2015Average in all aspects
Not bad for a friday afternoon.
But nothing soectacular with regard to course conditions or staff friendlyness.
We were early but there was no driving range. Finally teamed up with a very likeable twosome.
Enjoyable afternoon, but it is not a course I will remember for long.
Pebble Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/01/2015WET WET WET
WET WET WET
Is there really no drainage on this course?
Large parts of fairways were soaked. The ball plugged evey time and no roll what so ever.
Probably on a sunny day it could be a nice course.
On the positive side; o mulligan's the bar and restaurant was open till 21.00 on a sunday, so we did enjoy a beer after the game and a burger.
We should have been warned by the caddiemaster beforehand and been offered to play for half price given the terrible wet condition of the course.
