Worth a visit, for sure

I've been a member at Vashon GC for 2+ years and have played it off and on for over 30 years.

This course is a hidden gem. Challenging, beautiful views, mellow vibe.

It may be only nine holes with two tees, but even after playing the track hundreds and hundreds of times, I've never found it boring.

People look at the scorecard and rating and expect a relatively easy test. Not so -- there's not a level lie on the course, there's a ravine that cuts through many of the fairways, and the greens are small. Add to this the course's position up on a hill in the wind, the constantly shifting Puget Sound weather, and the way the course plays wildly differently when dry in the summer and fall vs. during the wet months, and this course will consistently perplex, test and delight you.

As they say, a Vashon GC handicap "travels well" and members here tend to post strong net scores when they travel to tournaments at other courses. It's tough.

Non-members can play at various times during the week and day.
