Willow Creek Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/21/2015Its a pure gem
Beautiful course, with picturesque greens, pure fairways and bunkers. Second best course on the Island trailing only Black. Without the hassle of playing black. It was a rainy wet day, greens still rolled a 10 and the pin placements were extremely difficult, makes for a fun challenging round. I did put it within 2 feet of the famed 16th, and made birdie so it was a highlight. Great course and a great deal from golf now, had a wonderful day. On a side note, it really bugs me when I play a beautiful course that is manicured and people don't fix their ball marks. That was the only negative, and it has nothing to do with the course, rather the animals that play on it.

Course was in great shape with the exception being the bunkers ( and there is a lot of them)!. Most holes are steeply down hill, providing gorgeous views of the Hudson river. Feels and smells like a country club and we were greeting very warmly. Ranger was super friendly and made sure everyone moved along. We were a foursome with a twosome behind us, he made sure we felt like we weren't being rushed (with one of the guys being really new to golf it meant a lot). The views alone are worth the admission especially for the money. So many deer and beavers everywhere that they are used to golfers they just kind of stand there and look at you. Bottom line, if you tend to play NYC courses and you drive a vehicle, its a must play and a welcome refreshment from the madness of the city life.
Jacob Riis Park Golf Course

Now I understand its a par 3 Muni, that was hit by Sandy more then a year ago. Seriously though would it be so hard to flatten the greens?. The greens are so bad with bumps all over, dry spots, and patches of weeds growing a foot from the hole. Not even close to being puttable. I read the reviews from last November but figured it was already winter when those people wrote them and I'll give it a shot see if anything is different. But nothing has changed. I'd stay away for awhile until someone puts up a positive review regarding changes to the greens. You go to a Pitch and PUTT to PUTT !!!!!! If you cant putt the cost should be 8 bucks for the pitch part.
