We played course last year and it was pretty rough shape. Not so this year . Tees, greens and fairways all nice and green. Even traps have been improved. No driving range, but nice putting green and practice chipping green. Staff was pleasant. No Marshall, but this day we didn’t need it. He lunch on site and it was very nice. This one is a keeper for us. It is one of the older courses in the area, but the track is fun to play

Got off on time. Guy in pro shop and starter were nice. Layout was nice. Seemed like par 3s were toughest holes. Water on half of holes. Plenty of traps which were ok. Course in good shape. Greens had been aerated, so a little tricky to putt. Marshall came by but there wasn’t much he could do. Pace was a little slow, around 4:15 and we were a twosome waiting every hole. Concern that they apparently allow fivesomes, which could slow it down more. (Sign says no 5 somes today) Big complaint was drinking water. No fountain in pro shop. Fountains on course didn’t work and no water jugs out. Happily it wasn’t too hot. Would definitely play again.

Have played San Marcos a number of times over a lot a years. Course was in good shape. Its a flat, straightforward track for the most part, but has some old trees that can really grab you. Pace was ok, marshal could have helped since guys in front of us were a bit behind. Enjoyable round and definitely will return

Disappointed with hour and fifteen minute frost delay. (My bad for not calling, but it was 42 at our hotel at 7 am). Fairways were ok and greens were fast, hard and reasonably true. Lots of water fowl around course and poop to go with them. Traps were very firm, few that would show a footprint. Pace of play was ok given it was Sunday and a big frost delay. Pro shop, starter and guys loading carts were great. Not crazy about layout. Lots of traps and grass traps that seemed over kill. Some of lakes were very full and some were pretty much dry, but water comes into play quite a bit. A lot of restrictions on where carts could go, so a decent amount of up and down walking which was problem for my wife with bad knees. Not at top of list for replay.

Golf at Santee National. Bob in pro shop was nice and got us out early. Carts in really good shape. Buildings seemed really new. Snack bar was good. Golf course in good shape. Greens very fast. Fairways firm and good lies. Some of tees a little thin for grass. Not mowed down and sanded in a number of cases. No Marshall and pace a little slow, about 4 hr 15 minutes for round. As a twosome, that meant a lot of waiting. Nice mix of water and trees to make it interesting. Front side is more open than back. Par 3s are pretty long and 5 pars are shorter. fun round of golf. would definitely play it again.

Course is not the most pristine, however, greens were very good and fast. Layout was interesting, not just up and back in a subdivision. good use of water and interesting turns and twists. We played with someone who had been there before and it really helped. We had played the Gary Player course a couple of days before and found the Palm Desert layout more fun and interesting. Will play it again

I don’t usually give any courses 5 stars, but this was simply exceptional. We’ve played this course every time w3e come to Destin and this was best experience ever! Course was manicured beautifully. The member guest was last weekend and they really got course in good shape. Greens were fast and true. Fairways green and tight. Even traps were really good. I felt guilty going in to hit shot and then had to rake it so it looked good. Paid a little mote than previous years, but still good value. We will play this next time!

Have played this course a few times when visiting Destin. Good layout and greatl views of bay. Starter let us go a little early and pace was great. Greens good shape and fast. Some of the boxes could use some love, but fairways good shape. Good round and we will play again

Hadn't played here in quite awhile. Fairways, fringes and tee boxes in good shape. Greens were pretty rough. Not sure if its the amount of play, frost damage or whatever. Green grass was sparce on the greens. Rolled very uneven and bumpy.
Course layout is fine. However, since they didn't overseed any of the rough, if you miss the fairway, your ball could go a long ways in a direction you don't want.it to.
Pace of play was over 4.5 hours and we were a two some, so it was hit and wait on every hole and some times every shot.
The other concern I had was the distance from the front tee to the fairway. Forced carry over desert on every hole, well over 100 yards on most of them. Ladies in front of us were forced to walk to their ball and move it forward or drive onto the fairway and then come back. Not very friendly for short hitters.
We won't be back.

The staff was just great! Friendly and helpful all the way. Really felt welcome.
Fairways, tees, greens and fringes overseed. Rough not touched which leads to lots of individual weeds in the rough which is bermuda. Most of the greens were in good shape. A few could have used a little more grass.
Layout is fun, a few challenges figuring out where to hit the first time around, but that's ok.
Pace of play was 4 hours and we were a threesome behind lots of foursomes, so it seemed a little slow, but it was ok.
Drink cart service was excellent.
We will play it again.

Course was in ok shape. For $$$ expected a little better. Greens ran pretty true and reasonably fast. Fairways a little thin in spots. Pace was ok, not great. Layout ok not great. Typical for courses around here, trees and a good amount of water in play. Weather was pretty decent. Overall, I could play again, but not top of the list for here

We were greeted by name when we pulled into parking lot/bag drop. Really friendly guys. Woman in pro shop checked us in right away and starter was very helpful. Moved us up to play with another twosome who’s other group didn’t show.. Overseeded tees, greens and fairways but nothing in rough. Greens looked spotty green but rolled fast and true. (And very firm). Layout is fun. Fairway traps are pretty sad. No sure if they are being converted to grass traps or what, but they are sure not being taken care of. Pace of play was ok, course was very busy. Played 90 degree rule running down the rough on either side. There are only cart paths at greens and tees. Weather was great and it was a fun day.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Course in good shape, seemed a little soft. Greens were excellent and rolled true and fast. We played as a twosome, got thru two groups and played at a really nice pace. It’s a fun layout, but getting drives in fairway is key tp good scoring.

We always play this course when in Destin.

First time playing course. Staff was friendly and helpful. Some wet spots on course. Greens were good, some a little bumpy. Tees were ok. Layout is challenging, but fun. Lots of water, but it can be avoided most of the time.

GPS shuts down cart when you are not where you are allowed to dive. A little frustrating since there are only no carts or carts this way on some holes.
