Great greens

Greens were excellent. Fairways so so (but I don't hit many of those anyway). Crowded and no ranger to move us along so pace was pretty slow.

Thanks for playing and leaving your review on Seminole Lake CC! We are so glad to hear the greens were on par and you enjoyed the course. Sorry to hear the pace of play was not ideal, we can't wait to see you back for another round. Let us know how we can make it the best round yet!

Nothing

First time playing this course. It's packed into an older residential community - but that's not really an issue. I hate those courses where you're right up on someones backyard if you miss the fairway (I miss a lot of fairways.) This course isn't like that - so thats a plus .It is laid out in an odd manner. 1-4 and 14-18 are on one side of a busy road, and 5-13 are on the other. Conditions were ok. Greens were a bit slower than I'm used to, but not the worst. Fairways had just been cut and there were a lot of clippings around, which really slowed the roll out down (on those rare occasions when I hit the fairway) All in all, a mediocre, forgettable course. The staff is excellent though and I saw the bev cart 4 times on a very hot Saturday.

Better communication from staff needed

This course is wide open and flat. Which is great for the way I play! Conditions were ok, considering the local weather of late, but I've played at several other courses at the area that were in better shape. The tee boxes aren't marked very well - or at all, so it's easy to get lost. Biggest gripe is that the course closed early on July 4. I get it, that's fine, but they should of told us at the get go. We skipped three holes in order to make the time. Pace of play was excellent for a tourist course. We probably would've been able to get all 18 had we not taken a leisurely break at the turn.

Pretty much this guys back yard

This course was designed as a destination for the DC crowd to come out and have weddings, conferences, golf outings etc. The owners fell onto hard times in the recession and lost the property. Current owners came in and got it for a song. As such, I get the impression this is the owners toy. It's like he's a rich guy with a really nice back yard - and he'll let you come and play for a small fee. It was designed as a links style, complete with dunes, blind shots, and pot bunkers. The design is challenging, the gnarly conditions make it even more so. I paid $10 each for my son and I on a hot deal and it was worth that. But I spent $20 on lost balls and I only played 9. No amenities, no range, the greens and tee boxes were in the process of being aerated.

Course showing it's age, but fun nonetheless

It's an older course, moderate elevation changes. A few bald spots in both tee boxes and fairway, but hey, it's October. Greens are fast and true. Fairways are tight, and there are quite a few blind shots, so it's worth it to scout ahead. We had no one behind us pushing which was good since there were two yahoos in front moving very slowly. No marshalls. Hit it straight. (since I can't)

well designed, recently aerated

Course has a wonderful design, and nice layout. The fairways and greens had been recently aerated but were still fast. There's a lot of construction going on in the area, and that can be distracting, but it's still a very nice course. I'll happily go back and play again after the turf heals.

Great Exec course

Under relatively new ownership and it's clear that the new crew is trying hard to make it wonderful. Fairways are narrow and on the day I played, very hard. Got some bounces off the tee that I would've sworn I'd hit a cart path or rock. Greens are new and very smooth - but a bit slow. Pace of play was very quick, I finished 9 holes in less than 90 minutes. It's a very compact course that's behind a shopping center, so the scenery's not the best - but I've seen worse. Overall, a good place to spend a couple of hours while the wife and kids are on the beach. Staff was wonderful, friendly and genuinely happy to have you there.

Odd course - very slow

It was an odd day. I had an 11am tee time - but apparently so did about 25 other people. Starter was overwhelmed but he did his best, and did it pleasantly. We finally got to tee off on the first tee at 11:30. The course is parkland on the front nine, and a parkland/links style on the back. It's moderately challenging, with tight fairways and some painfully placed water hazards on long par 5s. But the pace was brutal. Apparently Tuesday is $25 day so everyone and their brother comes out to play. I teed off at 11:30 and had to bail at 4pm after finishing 16. There was a marshall trying to keep up moving but when it's that crowded I just don't know what he could do.

Too Crowded

This is a course for those who watch a lot of golf on TV. If you'd rather play than watch, find another course. I showed up early for my tee time so I could warm up on the range. Halfway through my small bucket, I got asked to join a pair that was at the tee box right now. Obviously the course was in a hurry to get us moving but I don't know why. We spent 10 minutes on each tee waiting for the group in front of us, which was waiting on the group in front of them and so on up the chain. By the time we got to 16 it was getting too dark to play so I called it a day. Good thing, as I passed 17 and 18 on the way in, groups were stacked 3 deep at the tees.

Great Course - pricey but a good splurge

It was late in the season when I played so there were a huge # of ball marks, divots etc on the fairways, tee boxes etc. But it's a beautifully designed course, along the river and marsh. Lots of wildlife, a gopher ran across the tee box on 17 right after we vacated! It's probably the best designed course in the region.
