Haven't played this course since it first opened and we were pleased it is just as good. Fairways in great condition and greens running true. The fairway bunkers didn't penalise you too much and the green side bunkers were fair and not too difficult to get out of. Once the building work finishes on the front 9 it will be easier to navigate between holes, however we had a few of issues yesterday as the wind had blown over the temporary sign pointing to the next tee and we went the wrong way. Diggers and heavy building machinery did affect going between holes but this was not the fault of the course. Once you have been around the course on once you will know your way easily the following time. We loved our game and will definitely go back. The course personnel were brilliant and very helpful.
I would say the course wouldn't suite all golfing capabilities and is a must if you are planning to visit the area.

Managed to find a day that it wasn't due to rain so we went along to see what it was like. We had played the course in the summer and loved it. We were told I advance where we could take our trolleys and where we couldn't, so set off togged up in wet weather gear. The course was petty soggy in a lot of aces, but hey, what do you expect when it's been raining pretty much persistently for 7 days. The greens were okay and weren't holding the water and the fairways were good. Plenty of standing water between holes, but as it was walking areas only, you just avoided it. Played off mats on a couple of holes, but that was okay too. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised that the course was as good as it was considering the weather conditions. We only layer 9 holes as the weathe got bad again, so I couldn't comment on the back nine, however if I wasn't a betting person I would say it would have been as good as the front nine.
This is a well looked after and course that is clearly loved by the members and ground crew. We love it and will go back again when the weather eventually gets better. I would highly recommend it if you are a person who likes a challenge, loves a parkland course. It is beautiful and enjoyable course and one of the best in the area.

We couldn't have been made any more welcome if Micky Mouse had personally done it himself. Felt like we see the only people on the course, which clearly we weren't but the team see great. Big event being played on the day, so we started on the 10th. Expected it to be slow however it wasn't too bad. The pace of play was continual so we werent kept waiting on any tee. The course was amazing and definitely went to the top of our list of the best places to play. The fairways were good if you got to land on them! We found ourselves in the rough quite a lot and it was tough to get out of. Just long enough to hide the ball. Greens were receptive and true. Bunkers were a blinding white soft sand and easy to get out of. The whole ambience of the course was astonishing and certainly made for a fabulous game of golf. Although it is long and tough, we will be going back again as we know we can any it better than we did. I would highly recommend this as a course to lay. Yes it is pretty expensive but worth every cent. Great if you are a resident as the cost is reduced quite a lot.

Second visit to LBV and remembered the first visit was memorable. Again, we weren't disappointed. Great welcome from the pro shop and then off to the first tee early! Starter was very welcoming and got us off nice and early. Course condition was excellent. The greens were quick but good. Fairways were a dream. I am not saying it was easy because it wasn't. There was plenty of difficulty with bunkers strategically placed and they were pretty big so you needed to plan getting out of them with the right type of shot otherwise your next shot was still in the bunker!!
Loved the course, and we got around in just under 4 hours. Speed of play was great up until the last couple of holes where we caught up with the 2 ball ahead. Only worry was there was no beverage cart. There was a lady on the first tee selling sodas etc but we weren't aware she didn't come around the course. We were starving when we finished and luckily we had plenty of water with us. Had we known we would have bought snacks prior to the round. Not complaining and it didn't ruin what was a fantastic round of golf.

Greeted by friendly staff who moved our tee time forward for us. We hadn't played the course for a couple of years and was really pleased by the condition of the fairways and greens. The conditions on the day were excellent. The greens were fast but not so bad that they punished you. Rough was just the right length and you were able to find any wayward shots, which I was pleased about. Luckily there wasn't an over abundance of shrubs which held the balls or hid them. The course exceeded my expectations and we are going to try and get another round in before we return home to the UK. If you haven't had the privilege of laying Crooked Cat you are missing a great round of golf in stunning surroundings.

The course is in great condition and you can see the potential for the future when the landscaping and building has finished. Greens were true and in excellent shape as were the fairways. The distance marking in the fairways were good but you had to look for them and there were more than I imagined as I had read previous reviews prior to playing the course. Each hole was different in style and the bunkers were set in the most challenging of places which you would expect. Fairways were undulating and the approaches were interesting and varied in difficulty. Some of the red tees were a long way forward and my wife thought this would ruin the challenge but they didn't. One of the par 3's was a bit close with only 77 yards for the red tees. Once the GPS system is set up it will help with some of the holes especially a couple on the back nine as it was difficult to work out the yardage, especially where the sand hazard and water came into play. Overall we enjoyed the round and we did it in 4 hrs and play was slow due to the 4 ball in front. I am looking forward to playing again later in the year when I return as it should be a bit quieter. Well worth playing and if you expect a fully ready and standard Florida style course, you will be disappointed as this course is in its infancy, however you can see the potential and we loved it. Last played the course 7 years ago and was pleased that many Improvements had been made. Course in good condition. Greens running fast and were good but unfortunately previous players were not repairing pitch marks which was a shame. Unfortunately some players have no respect for others. Fairways were good and the rough was playable and not difficult. Had a good lunch before going out and the food was good and the bartender was most helpful. Liked the day very much and would recommend it as a good course to play.

From the moment you turn up at the bag drop to the time you get back to your car I found the staff friendly, the course in great shape and well worth the money. We have payed here three times now and it's one of our first options when we review the availability. If you haven't played it would highly recommend playing the National.
