Great Potential If...

The signature or first hole will draw you in. Located across the street from Cheraw State Park Golf Course. Cheraw Country Club as it is reffered to now Moree Country Club and Golf Course is a big miss!!! First off the grass along the fairways are so tall that you are penalized for a great shot that may roll off a few inches to a foot off the fairways. Balls are lost in plain sight! A few holes had intermittent high grass growth in the middle of the fairways. This slows down the speed of play. Having to look for a ball in the middle of the fairway is no fun. Even along the greens the grass is so high that again a good shot on the fringe or a little off is lost! Grass so tall snakes can lie and wait in it without you seeing them before stepping on one or dangerously close! No place for children or younger golfers. The risk of getting bit is way too high with all the tall grass alongside of the bunkers and fairways! Nothing attractive about the tall grass along the fairways or greens! Waiting for guys to look for balls on good shots is too time consumig and slows the pace of play. I get the course is operating on a small budget but even on a budget the grasss should be kept cut on the regular! Daily! No way does $20-$35 justify playing this course until work or progress is made on simple things! Not saying turn it into Cheraw State Park or Pinehurst overnight but at least show some care, quality and work toward making it better. Do the simple things first!
What was right; Customers service was nice and friendly. The young lady and gentlemen in was very nice. Ball prices was great! That goes along way in spite of the failure of the course to produce a quality golf experience. Until changes happen my group and I will opt for the better maintained course across the street. Cheraw State Park.
Morees does have the pontiental to be a great course but the care and committment is not there. they want even cut the grass or make clear designated cart parths. What gives ? You want $25-30 for a $10-$15 dollar product. Golf is a working mans game as well and we work too hard to give our money away for a less than par experience.
Carts were awesome by the way!
