Bella Vista Country Club - Scotsdale Course
Played On 03/03/2024Fun layout
First let me start by saying how friendly and helpful the staff was. The course for this time of year was in great shape. From tee to green typical conditions with the grass being dormant so tight lies and plenty of run out. The greens were in fantastic condition with them rolling fast and true. Front 9 and the back 9 are completely different layouts. The front 9 is more wide open and you can get away with some errant shots, as most of the holes run adjacent with each other. The back 9 is tighter with only the 10th and 18th holes that parallel each other. The 15th hole is a fun par 3 with the tee about 100’ above the green. Even with the wind gusting up to 30 mph it is a course taking I definitely look forward to playing again later when everything is green.
The Canyons At Blackjack Ridge
Played On 04/23/2023Horrible conditions
I have always enjoyed playing this course, but now I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone. Course is incredibly horrible condition and after talking with staff I don’t see it improving much in the near future. Almost every green is dead and your basically putting on compacted sand. The fairways are mostly hard pan and good luck finding any grass on the tee boxes as well. Truthfully management should just consider closing it down for awhile because with all the play they keep running out there is not helping at all.

Played On 04/02/2023Grass needed
I hope that as spring moves on the conditions improve because there isn’t much grass to play off of. There’s not much sand in the bunkers if you can find any at all, but I will say that the greens are in decent shape and roll fairly smooth. It was windy and I’m sure that played a part in the slow play as we had to wait on every shot. Needless to say it will be awhile before I return again.

After playing some courses that have been not in the best of condition this was a pleasant surprise. The course is in great condition from tee to green with the greens rolling fantastic. I will definitely be making the hour and a half drive again.

Course was in great shape considering the amount of rain the past month. Definitely not a course you want to play if you don’t keep the ball in the yard. There are a lot of forced carry’s off the tee and deep rough off the fairways. Greens are rolling smooth and fast.
Woodbine at Mohawk Park Golf Course
Played On 06/04/2022Needs a little work
Considering how much rain we’ve had in the past month the course was extremely hard from tee to green. Thin grass on tee’s and fairway with hardpan leaving for tough shots. The greens were hard as well, but rolled pretty true you just have to look at the greens that have been sprayed with hydoseed so they all had a nice shade of green. Still not a bad course to play just needs a little TLC.
Heritage Hills Golf Course
Played On 05/29/2022Needs just a little work!
I was the first person to tee off so I played by myself and finished in under 3 hours. Course has a number of rough spots not sure if all of it is weather related, but all in all the layout is fun with plenty of water that comes into play. Hopefully as the weather gets better the course will be in better shape.
The Canyons At Blackjack Ridge
Played On 05/20/2022Fun layout
Just a fun course to play! Plenty of elevation changes with the par 3 12th where you tee off about 100’ above the green. Course was in good shape considering the rain lately with only a few bare spots. The first green was in rough shape, but the rest were good. Green don’t hold that great and are fast so playing short and letting the ball run is the play.

Ever since I drove past this course a few years ago I have been wanting to play here and I finally got my chance over Father's Day weekend. I have to say I was not dissapointed. The weather was great , but windy and temperature was in the low 90's. The staff was friendly and very helpful that just added to the enjoyment and the course was even better. The layout I thought was fair, but challenging. I love having options off the tee and the fairways are very generous with its landing areas. The course was in great shape, fairways, greens and even the bunkers were a joy to play out of. I cannot wait to play it again if I am in the Las Vegas area.
The Links at Summerly
Played On 06/24/2017Still in rough shape.
I played this course about 7 years ago and it was a fun layout, but after multiple owners a flood and a lengthy closure the course is open for business. Truthfully it should remain closed for play for at least another 6 months because this course is not in playing condition with the exception of the greens. Tee boxes were in good shape and just a little long. The greens are the best thing about the course. They hold shots very well, but are a little slow due to them letting the grass take hold and not cutting them close. The fairways are thin in most places and the areas that have grass its long. The rough, well there is none! Every hole was roped off so carts were not allowed off the paths. The rough is all dirt with very little grass to be seen. They are attempting to grow grass, but they have a very long way to go and even when they do get grass your going to have to worry about digging out rocks as you swing. The bunkers were just ok, some were well groomed and had good sand in them and other were like a rock quarry. The staff was friendly and even let me go out early since I had arrived about 2 hours before my tee time. Hopefully in a year this course will be good. It is a fun layout and a typical links style course. Rolling fairways, no trees, burns that run through some of the holes forcing some layups off the tees and in the fairways. I hope that they can get this place back to where it was before, but until then I will stay away for now.
HI hbtim1967. We appreciate all your feedback. We are working daily to change things around here at the course. We are happy you have noticed this. We do apologize that your time with us did not meet your expectations, but we hope to see you again in a few months when the conditions have improved even more!
Diamond Valley Golf Club
Played On 06/17/2017Needs to be watered..
Course would be fun to play, but they need to water the fairways. The fairways are brown, dry and a little thin. That being said the course is a fun layout where tee shots need to be accurate. Driver is not the only club of choice off the tee here. Fairway woods and hybrids are needed to properly place your tee shots on some of the shorter par 4's. Staff was friendly and due to the extreme heat (105 at tee time) the course was relatively empty. I would like to come back and play it again, but not until they start watering and getting the course green again.
Shadow Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/26/2017Fun layout!
First arriving at the course the staff was friendly and very helpful with explaining all the features of the course. The course itself was in great shape and a joy to play. The greens rolled very true , but were a little slower than they look. Fairways are like carpet and very generous landing areas. There are a couple of par 4's that with a straight drive are reachable, but the greens have some good undulations to test your putting skills. Very enjoyable and I hope to get a chance to play it again.

Played On 02/21/2017Nice layout...
I have been wanting to play this course for 30 years and I finally got the chance and I was not disappointed. Considering how much rain the we have received the course was in pretty good shape. Few bare spots, but nothing to bad. Not a very long course, but you need to hit the fairways to leave yourself clear shots to the greens. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and that just made my visit there even better. I look forward to playing it again.
Hacienda Golf Club
Played On 07/12/2016Reminds me of Riviera Country Club...
This course could be Riviera's cousin. It winds through a ravine and hillside and is just a spectacular layout. A good mix of elevated tees and approach shots to well bunkered greens. Well placed tee shots will reward you with great views of your approach to the greens. I hope that I get the chance to play there again and if you get the chance you will not be disappointed..

Played On 07/05/2015Driver not required...
I found this course to be one that you can leave the driver in the bag. Course is in excellent condition and mostly green concidering there is a drought. The course is a bit pricey, but it is a good layout. I played on a Sunday and I was surprised on how few people there were. I played 18 holes in just a little over 3 hours and I didnt catch up to anyone until I reached the 10th hole. I love the par 5 18th hole. If you can hit the driver straight then you are left with the decision of going for it in 2, but beware if the flagstick is on the right side of the green then you are looking at a green well protected by water. With the clubhouse and a waterfall in the background the 18th is a beautiful finishing hole.
Champions Club At The Retreat
Played On 07/03/2015Keep the ball in play...
This is a real target golf course. If you miss the fairways then you will be in for a long day. There is a premium on hitting the fairway and you dont have to always pull out the driver. The course is in decent shape, but the fairways are starting to turn brown and drying up because of the drought. My advise is that if you are a high handicapper or can't keep your driver straight then I wouldn't play this course. And if you do I suggest you bring a few dozen balls.
Skylinks Golf Course
Played On 06/15/2015Greens excellent, fairways horrible....
good layout with a mix of holes that require a layup off the tee. Greens were in excellent shape, but the fairways are brown, dry and patchy. Drought not being kind to this course at all. They might want to take some of the water in their lakes and use it for the fairways.
The Country Club at Soboba Springs
Played On 05/23/2015Can't wait to play it again
Beautiful course and a great layout. Fairways were in excellent shape and you need to hit the fairways. Miss the fairway and you will find yourself in fairway bunkers or nestled down in the rough. Greens were a little slow and bumpy from being punched and sanded about a week ago, but they were still in good shape. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I can't wait to play it again.

The course was in very poor shape. Looked like they have not watered or taken care of this course in months. Could be a very beautiful and challenging course, but I have seen farm land that was in better shape. I would not recommend this course to anyone. I was very disappointed....
