Not a great course

First off, we paid $20, but drove an hour. Those two things sort of cancel each other out. The course was in pretty bad shape and we had rain the night before, but it was still muddier than you'd expect. Divots everywhere, crab-grass roughs. Even when it dried up later through the round the course didn't play very well. Greens were challenging, but also unpredictable at times. Staff was nice enough, but also not very attentive. We walked in, told him our tee time and asked for a bucket of balls, but instead of grabbing it for us he just walked off without a word and didn't return for around 10 minutes before addressing us again, completely negating our ability to warm up properly. Won't be returning. I'm usually not averse to driving this far out for a course, but this one wasn't worth it, even at $20/18 with a cart. If I lived closer and really had an itch to play, I might head down.

Good value, but I don't like the layout.

First off, the pace here is great. I finished 18 in just over 3 hours. The staff was incredibly friendly! And it's also a great deal ($20 with cart if booked on golf now, $32 if booked through the course). For me though, the course itself wasn't worth the deal. I guess my game just isn't suited to this layout. Too many blind tee shots and wild uphills. It gets a bit repetitive, even with hilly nature of the course that seems to prohibit good lies. Even down the middle of a lot of fairways, you're going to have an awkward stance for your second shot. The course though is nestled in Nature. So the surroundings are beautiful and serene. I would consider going back, but for me it's a little too far and a little more demanding than the 120 slope would suggest.

Great course, could improve a bit

I really like this course. It's challenging and the elevation changes make you doubt your club selection from time to time, which I consider a good thing. While mostly in good condition, some of the fairways could use some work. Also, I prefer walking courses and this place is cart only, mainly, I would think, because the holes are really spread out. But even with the cart, a surprising number of holes are cart-path only, which is annoying. The GPS in the carts is pretty rad.
