Best Semi-Private golf in Brooksville

Great Pete Dye design with plenty of visual deception and rolling terrain. You won’t find many flat lies but the design flows well and the course was in good shape considering this is a transition time of year for this area. There is space off the fairways and lots of mounds that will help keep you in play. Bring your A+ short game as you will need it and be sure to hit the putting green to get a good gauge of the speed. Range balls come with the greens fee and everyone from the starter to the lot attendants are nice people. Bottom line if you haven’t played it I recommend taking the drive to enjoy this great golf experience.

Could be one of the best in Sarasota when it's dry.

As soon as you get past the gate it's quick to see this golf community has lots to offer. The course was very wet from almost 4 inches of rain it recived in the past 24hrs but even with the tall wet grass this course was very pleasing to the eye. There were a few bunkers that were washed out pretty bad to the point of being unplayable. No doubt after a few dry days this course will be a top course again. For the price it's hard to beat since it includes range balls and cart. The only thing I'd like to see them add are better hole layout descriptions either on the scorecards or add an integrated GPS in the cart. For a course of this caliber I think the latter is the way to go personally.
I will say one thing that surprised me was there aren't many visually stunning holes but a lot of above average to average holes from a design perspective. Other than that, I look forward to going back down to Sarasota again when the course is dry and giving this course the 4+ stars I know it's capable of achieving.

Well maintained course!

The course was well groomed tee to green! A few greens had issues with ball marks not being repaired properly, but that's not the courses fault. The design was fun to play especially the closing 3 holes. Compared to other courses I have played in MB, this one provides a great value and has a friendly staff. My only complain is they double tee on the course causing pace of play issues and my group was forced to wait on every shot on the back 9. This is the only reason I won't be back, but for those that are willing to play a 4.5-5hr round it's a great deal and nice course.

Lots of potential here

The sky ferry you take to this course is really cool and one of a kind. I played the Oaks and Ravine 9s and I recommend the Ravine but would pass on the Oaks next time. The Oaks course doesn't have much character compared to the Ravine and the only hole that boarders the Intercoastal waterway is the 1st hole of the Ravine course. About a third of there greens need some assistance or they are going to start dieing off worst then they already are. Overall I would rate the conditions fair to good. This place has potential but need better conditions to compete with the multitude of great courses in the area for the same price. Also, some of the outside staff have serious attitude issues and provided the worst service I have seen in years, anywhere.

Nice course just off I75

A few greens on both 9s need some attention but the rest of the course was in very good shape. The front side is pretty open then I the course plays through some wooded areas on the back, until 17. The driving range area and putting greens are a little small but get the job done. I plan to go back in a few months to see if the greens have healed after spring aeriation.

Great course design with below average conditions

Let's start with the good. Pace of play was great! Course design is awesome, offers a lot of fun holes, and some challenging approach shots. Staff is very friendly as well! Unfortunately the course is in such bad shape I cannot recommend this course to anyone in its current state. The fairways are a mixture of grasses if you are lucky enough to get grass and not dirt as your lie. There were a few greens that putted true but the majority were extremely hard landing surface. Your ball will bounce and bobble its way to the hole on most greens. There was one green I particular that looked like someone had been on the green with a dirt bike.

My guess is the course doesn't have a budget large enough to allow it to be in top shape in the season. This is truly a travesty, since the design is really a lot of fun and well thought out.

I might give this course another shot next year but for now I would lable this course as the second worst I have played in the Tampa area and would advise everyone to spend your money at one of the other nice tracks in the area.

Pretty good local course

I did a last minute Golfnow deal for $30, which I would say is top dollar for this courses quality. The draining range is short and narrow, but the chipping and putting greens are ample size. The design is standard Florida golf, with water everywhere. The only memorable hole is the risk/reward par 5 #12. Conditions were good overall with the sand being the highlight for me. Best sand traps I have played in a while. Greens & fairways were in good condition with a few spots here and there that needed attention. I didn't eat or drink there so I can't comment on the quality of F&B. Overall it's a nice local course that is worth about half what the management ask for the standard rack rate.

Pretty Good course but could be better

At $40 for a weekend round with average conditions and since they let fivesomes on the course for some reason, I give this course an average rating overall. Based on the experience I had today I wouldn't pay more tha $25 to go back until they improve conditions and pace of play.

Great conditioned course at a fair price

Overall this course is in great condition tee to green. Pace of plat got a little backed up after we made the turn but cleared up after the 12th hole pretty good. Ranger was out on the course so kudos to him for taking care of the problem. It appears the staff grew in the green fridges and thus made the greens smaller which really makes this a second shot course on most of the holes. If you can get a tee time for $30 or less I would say it's well worth every penny.

Hard to beat a great day on the Rolling Oaks course

Conditions were near flawless as it has been every time I have played either course at World Woods. I favor the Rolling Oaks more because of the scenic views but both are great tracks. The only negatives this are the range balls are showing their age and our pace of play got held up a few times. If you are a golfer traveling through the Tampa area it's worth the trip to Brooksville to play both of these courses!

Great greens!

The greens set in real good shape but the rest of the course is fair to average. They really need to hire a marshal to help with the pace of play at this course. The design is really straight forward without hidden hazards and the forced carries are short length. For a course that usually can be played for under $30 it's a pretty good deal but would be an excellent deal if the pace of play issues were addressed. The only other negative thing is there is NO driving range so plan accordingly.

Great value!

Overall a really great value for the money. The course is in pretty good shape based on municipal course standards. The main drawbacks to the course is a lack of a driving range and the 7th hole is a "gimmick" hole IMHO. It's not a long course at around 6300yds but it is tight with a few hazards that can come into play and has some tricky greens depending on the pin position.

The course is looking good!

The greens have come back and are in great shape since my last visit in AUG. I would recommend this course for best "Bang for you buck" in Pinellas County. For under $30 you are playing a true 4star course conditions as it is currently sits. Just don't play after a hard rain. Drainage doesn't seem to be up to the task.

Where did their nice greens go?

Fairways, tee boxes, bunkers are in great shape overall but their greens are a mess and kills the great experience Landsbrook could be. I would recommend giving them a month to get the greens sorted before wasting your $30.

Quality Tampa area layout

Really enjoyed the layout! Greens were in great shape minus a few fringe areas that had recently been replaced and were growing in and were slower than most courses (guessing about an 8 on the stemp). Most of the tee boxes were in good shape except for about 3 of them. Fairways were in great shape but need to be cut to allow for some more roll. Overall a great Florida style layout that I want to play again in prime season to see it at its best. Priced at around $60 is a little overpriced for this layout in the summer based on the conditions I experienced IMHO.

Great Course worth the drive!

Just like the other 3 times I have played Pine Barrens, the course was in great shape from tee to green. Pace of play was great at 3.5 hrs, worth very penny of $30, can't wait to return and play Rolling Oaks in a month or so after the greens are recovered.
