Great Course

Great course and fun to play. Not all that difficult, but still challenging to score well due to very fast greens. Excellent condition from tee box to greens. Not much water. First time playing but will now be on regular rotation. Highly recommend.

Not Terrible But Should Be Better

We've played here a few times from last summer up to last week. There are three 9 hole courses, and the layout is actually pretty good with some nice holes and long par 3's. But the overall maintenance and upkeep is always lacking - fairways and tee boxes are not great but the greens are hard and very fast. Sneaky water on a few holes that you don't see from the tee is both challenging and frustrating! Our cart has run out of juice two times now which is simply not acceptable, but overall a decent value considering price and availability of tee times.

Long Hitter's Course

Very wide fairways - a good thing and often helpful - but mostly rolling hills and fairways, elevated greens, and some nasty bunkers make it an overall difficult course. Because of the many uphill fairways and long par 3's (200 yds from blue tees) it's a course most suited to longer hitters. The condition of the bermuda fairways is excellent (especially for the desert) and the greens are very good - although a little slow - but the bermuda rough is very deep and can be nearly impossible to play from - which I attribute to simply being summer playing conditions due to reduced course maintenance. So be sure to keep your shots in the fairway! Overall a fun and very challenging course that I would play again - but from the white tees.

Rolling Fairways

Nice challenging and fun course. Not too long, but made more difficult by the typical Ted Robinson rolling hills and valleys along with several blind tee shots. If you miss the proper landing area you're gonna have a tough lie. The greens are in excellent condition, but greenside bunkers are very deep with steep walls, which is difficult enough, but there's basically no sand in them, rather hard pan sandy dirt. Several lakes, but water is not really in play all that often. The hotel and resort grounds are spectacular.

Fun Round

A nice course in excellent condition. It's an executive course with 6 or 7 par 4 holes. Par 3s range from under 100 yds to about 150, but there is water in play on basically every hole, and most require full carry shots to reach the green (not very many "just-run-it-up-there" opportunities). Great staff and very nice recently remodeled clubhouse, restaurant and bar. Highly recommended for a fun day out improving your short irons and approach shots.

Redeemed

I played this course several years ago and it was in terrible condition, and I never returned - until now. Overall, I was quite impressed with how it has been improved. Fairways were not very smooth in some areas (uneven, holes, lumps) and most tee markers needed to be moved due to excessive divots. However, the layout is interesting with many fairways split by dry creek beds, and the par 3's are "old school" long (unlike your typical 120 yd resort course). The greens are very good. Also, the fairways and chipping areas actually have nice turf and are much more playable than the hard pan that is not uncommon here in the desert, but the greenside bunkers seem to be more dirt than sand. The rough and out-of-play areas are not aesthetically pleasing however, and I managed to lose a few balls that should have been in plain sight! However, if you can overlook the lacking visual appeal, I think you'll find the course very enjoyable and an interesting challenge for sure. Trevor seems to care a lot and I believe they're doing a good job with what they have. For the price, I say go give it a try!

Very Slow Play

The course is in excellent condition and overall fun to play. Water on the 1st and 18th holes only (same lake), and bunkers are not deep. "Fairways" should be cut shorter, but the greens are excellent condition (and very fast). That's the good news. The bad news is that they over-book the course. In fact, they ran out of carts and players had to wait for a cart to come in and get cleaned. For a short course, a round taking more than 3 1/2 hrs is ridiculous.

Fun and Challenging

Beautiful, fun course - but the hazards are relentless. Don't let the short distances fool you (holes range from about 100-200 yrds - most 130-160) but the penalties for missing the greens will make things difficult. There's water on most holes, lots of bunkers, elevated greens (all carry required) and the greens are undulating with some tough pin placements. Super well maintained course surrounded by immaculate desert landscape, with tees and greens in excellent condition. Bring some extra balls and have fun!

Huge Improvement

I played this course a couple years ago and it was in terrible shape and barely playable. I understand it's now under new management, and they've done a great job with the course. The over seed looks great and plays well - although the fairways are very firm, as well as chipping areas around greens. The greens are in excellent condition but very fast - some of the more sloping ones almost to the point of being unmanageable. Overall, a pretty basic layout and fun to play - especially the rather unusual 18th hole.

Fun Play

The course has been over seeded and is in immaculate condition. It's in the wash and there are no trees, so it's not the most scenic layout. Some challenging holes and very deep greenside bunkers. Very enjoyable day!

Fun Day Out

Good for short iron practice. Many holes are 100 yds, so I will play from the black tees next time. Overall average/good course condition, but greens were firm and perfect. Fun day outdoors playing golf when most courses in the valley are closed for over seeding.

Challenging but a great layout

This is a difficult course, but I guess that's part of what makes it so fun to play. Some very unique and challenging holes requiring straight shots, for sure. However, the overall condition was not good. Most fairways were decent and the greens were good, but the tee boxes needed attention and the rough was basically unplayable with tall, thick grass and weeds. The bunkers were not maintained and most had standing water. Although, reportedly, the mower used for keeping the rough had been broken down for awhile and a new one had been ordered. They only own one machine? As tends to be the case in the desert in the summer, a common response is "Well, for the price, I guess we can't really complain too much".

Fun & Enjoyable

Fun and enjoyable course. Could be called (relatively) easy, and average length with appropriate bunkering (and some water) keep golfers thinking and having to make shots. Some nice longer length par 3s (for a change). The condition of both fairways and greens was excellent, but the tee boxes could use some mowing. Highly recommend this course for a fun day out.

Ridiculous Rough and High Fairways

I understand that the rough is supposed to be penal, but this course and rough are bermuda and the length of the rough made it basically unplayable. Also, the length of the fairway cut is high. These factors make it necessary to completely re-think what should be a typical round. However, perhaps these are their "summer conditions". The course layout is great and very challenging with doglegs, water, up and down fairways, and some short fairways requiring laying up which added to the difficulty (and sometimes confusion) of playing the course for the first time. Played the South and West nines.

Challenging Par 3 Course

Mostly short holes, but a few needing long irons. Almost no bunkers, but most greens have fall-offs in front and/or sides which require full carry shots. Fairways and greens in good condition. Fun course to play but a good test of your accuracy!

Below Average Condition

The course was not maintained well and not in good condition. Most water features were dry and the water that was there was not attractive. Tee boxes and "sandy areas" along fairways were not maintained. The greens were in good condition, but were soft and very slow. The old school par 3s of 180+ yrds were a refreshing change from many resort courses in the desert. For the price I cannot complain too much as I got a Hot Deal for 10.00, but I won't be back even during season as I doubt they will spend the time and money required to bring the course back.

Great transformation and improvement

Wow. What a change. New management has really made good efforts to improve the entire property. Fairways and most ponds much improved and in good condition. Very nice contour mowing of fairways and landing areas, and nice striping of fairways, too. Added yardage markers on par four holes. Various remodeling also planned.

Teed off at noon on Friday and pace of play soon became very slow. Nearly a 4 hour round.
