Woodbine at Mohawk Park Golf Course
Played On 06/10/2021Woodbine
All things considered Woodbine is in good shape. Only 1-2 greens appeared to be greatly effected by the winter storm. The fairways and roughs were in really good shape. Thick, full, and green. The first couple holes on the back are a little beat up, but for less than 20 bucks to walk I was pleased.
The Canyons At Blackjack Ridge
Played On 02/28/2020Fun course
This is a very fun course, but wouldn’t want to play it every day. The layout is a little bizarre, and there are quite a few blind shots. They are undergoing major renovations to the club house and changing the greens to a different type of grass. A few of the greens had some crater spots in them, but overall they were in decent enough shape. Some of the greens are pretty diabolical as well. If you put yourself on the wrong side of the hole good luck. I’ll be excited to see what the new greens are like when finished. Overall, it’s not the nicest course in the area, but it’s one of the more fun courses in the area and definitely worth playing a few times a year.
Sapulpa Municipal Golf Course
Played On 08/15/2019Nice Minicipal Course
Played Sapulpa today for the first time. It was definitely worth the money for a weekday round. The greens were all very green and in great shape. There was a few fair ways that needed some love, but only 1-2 of them.
If they fairways and roughs would’ve been mowed I would give the course a higher rating. It was difficult to find balls if you didn’t hit them right down center. The roughs had recently been mowed from a very tall length as their was left over cut grass covering the rough.
The cart paths can get a little bit confusing as well if you’re not familiar with the course. A few of the holes get tight and share paths which are only marked in a couple places.
It’s a nice course for the money and would have no problem going back to play it again.
Gatlinburg Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2018Nice, Slightly boring
The course was in very good condition overall. The clubhouse is nice. There are separate greens for putting and chipping pre-round. I also saw signs for hitting nets as well, but did not check them out.
The carts have course GPS, but you have to pay for it. Not sure why that's not included with greens fees of the fifty dollar range for a slightly above average public course.
Front 9: All nine holes are pretty much the same hole varying in lengths. Straight as an arrow with large fairways. Above average golfers probably won't have much fun on the front nine. I found myself kind of bored on the front side.
Back 9: Much more variation of shots to play, fun layout. Enjoyed the back 9 much more than the front.
Pace of play was good. Under 4 Hours for 18 and a group of 3.
