Yocha Dehe Golf Club at Cache Creek Casino Resort
Played On 09/24/2016Should have been a 5-star
An interesting and fun course that all my friends raved about, and one that I had really been looking forward to playing. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as we had hoped.
Our t-time was right after the last group of a tournament which resulted in a 5.5 hour round. That occasionally happens, so as golfers we learn to live with it. Doesn't mean we have to be happy about it though.
Would recommend taking a pass on the snack bar. The food was not of the quality you might expect and was over-priced.
My biggest issue was with the greens though. The grass was so thin that it was difficult to properly repair ball-marks. Hadn't played greens with that much sand since I played in Oklahoma.
All those negatives aside, I would probably play this course again. It is a fun challenge and has a staff that can't seem to do enough for you. Give it a try, maybe we just caught them on a bad day.
Paradise Valley Golf Course
Played On 08/27/2016A pleasant surprise
After Silverado screwed up our t-time, we were scrambling around trying to find another course and were lucky enough to find this gem. Well-maintained and with a very friendly and efficient staff.
Tee shots aren't too tough, but the fun really starts on and around the greens. They are faster that they look and have tons of contour.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone visiting the area.
Pacific Dunes
Played On 11/28/2015My favorite at Bandon
I love all the courses in the area, but Pacific Dunes really stands out for me. Beautiful setting, well-maintained and a decent pace of play. What more could you ask for?
The Bandon golf Mecca is a bit out of the way, but if you love golf, you have to put it on your Bucket List.
