This was my first time playing this course and I'm glad I did. I had a wonderful time. This course is unpretentious and welcoming. The Course is perfect for honing your short game. I used a hybrid driver most of the course, with the exception of the short par 3's. The course was in great shape, other than the range...thanks to the recent haboob. I played 27 holes in 3 hours. If you can, get to the course early and talk to Ryan in the Pro Shop. Ryan is super knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely return.

The Golf Club at Johnson Ranch was challenging, especially for a novice golfer. The golf carts are extremely slow and sluggish. The plastic railings on the golf cart severely bruised my thigh. Don't expect a beverage cart on slow days. We teed off at noon and met the beverage cart on hole 1 at which time we were informed it was just too slow to stay out there. Not cool. Plan on taking your own water and ice. The clubhouse provides ice water and cups, but the ice they have imparts a disgusting taste to the water. The course layout/hole design is elementary at best. Most holes mimic the others. Johnson Ranch is so far south. Save your time and money and go to another course.
