Country Club of Silver Springs Shores
Played On 09/27/2022Always a test
CC at Silver Springs is a great course. Tough greens especially if pins placed for difficulty.
Country Club of Silver Springs Shores
Played On 05/29/2022Great course; and the crowds prove it
This is a great course and I love the challenging layout and putting greens. I've played this course many times; however my partner and I quit on the 14th hole due to slow pace of play. I haven't done that in years but is was that bad...5 1/2 hour round. From 14-18 there were 2; sometimes 3 groups on each hole. This is a course management issue, but the course itself is great.
Brazell's Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/09/2022Spectacular course layout
Brazell's Creek is a real gem. It's true the front and back may as well be on different planets. I preferred the front; although hole 17 on the back is quite memorable. The course is in a state park and the local "gubmint" lackey running the register had very poor customer service skills. Most putting greens are infested with weed growth and turf disease; but they are otherwise trimmed. Despite those minor negatives; I'd highly recommend this stunning layout. It's a great golf experience.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 02/22/2022Great golf; but you're not the only one enjoying
Mission Inn has two equally spectacular courses with unusual elevation changes for a Florida. Plenty of elevated tee boxes. El Campeon punishes the 220 yard tee shot (in a proper way) with well placed bunkers. Challenging greens. Can get awful slow out there with the big groups playing; so don't come in a rush and you're certain to enjoy it. Clubhouse staff can be a little uppity; but everybody else is cool.
Continental Country Club
Played On 02/06/2022Continental is underrated
I always get a just tasted a lemon look when I ask people about Continental. In days gone by, perhaps it wasn't in good shape. Right now, Continental is as good as it gets. The greens are spectacular. Trim and quick. Save your strength for a tough finish as holes 16-18 are a real test.
Sherman Hills Golf Club
Played On 02/05/2022Good; but not 4 stars
Good not great. Probably could be if the greens were sorted out. As described in many reviews; many putting greens are in poor shape and in certain cases unplayable. But this course seems to get a lot of play and the staff were very friendly. It’s worth a try; but not quite 4 stars.
Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club
Played On 02/01/2022Tough course
Don't play from the blues if you can't hit at least 250 off the tee. You'll make everyone suffer hitting 3 woods for your second shot on Par 4's. This is a great layout and tough course. Very enjoyable test of golf.
Country Club of Silver Springs Shores
Played On 01/29/2022One of the best around Ocala
CC at SS is spectacular. It's a challenge from the whites, but a monster from anything beyond. The front 9 seems shorter in length but has many difficult putting greens. The back 9 stretches your long shots. It's just a great course. There's a reason is used to be a US Open qualifier.
Mount Dora Golf Club
Played On 01/21/2022Tale of two 9's
MDGC is fantastic. The clubhouse feels like a proper old country club and the bar is perfect. The front 9 is fairly benign, but the back 9 has great elevation changes and turtle back greens. The greens were in good shape for late in the day after lots of rounds.
Inverness Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/20/2022Tough from the tips
Inverness is a great course and quite a challenge from the back tees. When it's dry, the greens roll quick and true. It's not a simple layout by any means and both 9's feature a 200 plus yard par 3. Great value; friendly staff.
Lakeside Golf Course
Played On 01/15/2022Friendly and fun
First time on this course. Great experience overall. Several people were checking in at the same time and staff handled the groups efficiently. No problems with prepaid tee time. From the back tees; there are 3 lengthy par 5’s and a couple long par 3’s. I wouldn’t expect a quick round but if you are one of those who are into speed golf do us all a favor and pick another sport.
Westfields Golf Club
Played On 10/04/2019Very enjoyable
This is a great course. It feels like a country club in a good way; yet still welcoming to first timers. It seems popular with a healthy group of regular players.
The front and back nines are quite different. The front requires distance off the tee whereas the back requires more precise approach shots.
I’m at 8 handicap and hit 84 from the blues. Two bad holes on the front marred an otherwise decent round. I made very few 10’ plus putts but not due to unfair greens.
Give this course a try and don’t play the Boom Boom tees unless you are at least 250 consistently off the tee.

Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 08/05/2019Challenge yourself at this course
Mission Inn has the best courses in Central Florida. Colinas is not to be overlooked as it's just as fantastic as El Campeon, but El Campeon is more difficult. I'm a 10 handicap and my goal at El Campeon is to break 90 from the blue tees. I've failed 4 of 5 times. It's a totally different course from the white tees, but much of the challenge is on the putting greens so it's a challenge anyway you play it.
Go play them both. Don't be surprised if you end up liking Colinas more than Campeon! But either way, Campeon is a tough track.
Continental Country Club
Played On 03/22/2019Good layout but under repair right now
I like Continental and think it's a great layout. They hosted a Senior Am event in late February during which time the course was in fantastic condition. After that tourney, they've starting major repairs to the cart paths. The course is not in primo shape right now, but still very much worth a hot deal on GolfNow. When it's in shape, this is one of the better courses around.
Water Oak Golf Club
Played On 03/16/2019Great course for the money
Water Oak is a great value course. The putting greens are fantastic for the volume of play. They are small putting greens which tightens up the iron play. The back 9 is a superb layout with 2 long water carries and good elevation changes. For the money, this is excellent value.
Hi, thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Inverness Golf & Country Club.
