It's much improved over when I played here about 4 years ago, when it was an absolute dump of a course. I swore I would never come back, but another golfer convinced me. Greens are solid ( no bare spots) but VERY slow. Tees and fairways seem ok for the season. Fairly straight forward layout, nothing exciting. I only paid $22 on a hot deal, so I can't complain. It has value for $35 or less. Staff is friendly and the restaurant/bar has always been very good.

The greens were in bad shape and very slow. Fairways were very thin. There was a ranger, but it didnt seem to help as we waited to hit on probably 14 of 18 tees. Staff was very friendly. Can't see going back.

The greens were thin as if any overseeding they did just wasn't good enough. Multiple bunkers were less like sand and more like raked dirt. At one point on the front 9 we could see 5 twosomes ahead of us, as if the pro shop couldn't care less about pairing up small groups, leading to an over 5 hour round. Hopefully, someone buys this course and fixes what is wrong because it has the potential to be a half decent public in Central FL. I won't be back anytime soon.

Course was in great dormant shape, overseeding looked great. Greens putted extremely well even though they just lightly sanded them. A couple holes run along the airport, which is unique. The course had a little bit of everything, some holes wide open, some holes tight. A nice amount of hazards but not overbearing. Staff was great. Only complaint is that the grill closed at 4, so really couldn't get anything to eat afterwards. For $60 on a hot deal, it was a steal.
Saw someone say that the bunkers didn't have sand, I didn't see a single bunker without sand, and they were all raked well.

Never been disappointed at GP. Great value for the price. Course conditions were solid and the greens were perfect. The starter with his one arm wrapped up was a jerk to one of the guys in our foursome and wouldn't calm down until one of us told him to knock it off, but otherwise we had a great time.

Greens were quicker than expected. The layout was nice and smooth with barely any carries to worry about. The greens and fairways were in solid shape and didn't have to roll my ball once. I am putting this on my short list of courses to play in Hernando/Citrus/Pasco to play every year I come down. Restaurant closes early though, make sure you get your food and drinks early.

The layout is boring. The front 9 is just wide open winding between houses with essentially no trees, no rough, very few bunkers, a few hills. The back 9 has some variation but the holes that aren't basic boring stuff between houses have greens that are shot. It's cheap but for a reason. Crossing this off my list of courses to play in the area. Hernando Oaks and Brooksville are much better for around the same price.

Keep in mind it was around March 14th when we played, but the greens were atrocious. They didn't overseed, and they will get much better. We were warned before we teed off to expect this.
I would hold off on playing Rolling Oaks until the second or third week of April for the greens to be in the condition you would expect.
Otherwise, the course is in good shape for the season and the layout is phenomenal.

For the dormant season, it was in perfect shape. Didn't have to roll the ball once. Greens rolled great. Very cool layout with some great views. Carries off the tee are deceiving and make it look daunting, but aren't. Staff was great. Very nice course off the beaten path in GA. I definitely want to come back in the summer when it greens up. Huge value. Take a cart, seriously long distances green-to-tee.

I have no idea where these 4 and 5-star reviews came from, this place is in bad shape. I played here a couple years back and remember it being in good shape, I don't know what happened. There are 5-6 greens (mostly on the back 9) that are partially bare, no grass. The tees are pretty beat up. The layout has always been boring, and wide open, with narrow fairways and short rough (except for 3 holes on the back) that wind through houses. Pins were bad. Two were on the side of slopes. One hole actually had a pin 4 feet from the fringe! (pic included) Terrible. Staff was friendly. Restaurant closed very early, I finished at 4pm and it was closed.

After Oak Hills, this is probably in the worst shape in Hernando County. Not worth more than $20.

The course is in perfect shape even in the midsummer conditions. Everyone should try to get out to Vineyard National. they also finally have a restaurant for drinks afterwards, which was really the only thing holding the course back.

I played here about 5 years ago and it was in bad shape, and it's gotten worse. Tees had so little grass that I lost my footing multiple times. Greens are atrocious and at least 15 of them had major issues (see attached picture). The front 9 is easily the worst consecutive 9 holes holes I have ever seen. No maintenance, very little grass in the fairways, and you can tell where the fairway stops and the rough starts. Cart paths are falling apart so be prepared for a bumpy ride. A cow pasture is more consistent with the level of grass. There are no rangers so expect a long day. Pro shop gentleman was very pleasant. I hope someone buys this place and fixes it. Worst course I have played in my entire life.

I've never said this before about any golf course, but I don't think I would play it again even if it was free.

The course was in very good shape. I didn't have to roll my ball over in the fairways and the greens were very consistent from hole to hole. The course has some original look par 3s. Nice drives from green to tee through the wilderness. Nice layout. Arguably the best course you can play in Hernando County for under $30 on a regular basis.

The greens were just slit seeded and aerated within the last couple of weeks, so they didn't putt well at all and were puffy. Two holes had temp greens as they had been burnt. Also looked like a lot of irrigation was changed out recently. Pro shop said they hired a new superintendent recently. Tees and fairways were good, greens were pretty bad. I would say however that in a month all of the work they did will come around, so wait to play there until then. Layout was good, well maintained other than the above mentioned. I only paid $17 for the round, so it was worth it.
