About
I enjoy the challenge but because of physical limitations(knees replaced, herniated discs, frozen shoulder) and age(1943) it is always important to remind myself to play "within myself", setting realistic goals because I cannot hit the greens in regulation. Because of GolfNow, I am able to play courses that otherwise would be unaffordable.

Twin Isles Country Club
Played On 03/25/2016Good value through GolfNow
I drove 45 minutes to play this course with two strangers. I was not disappointed as the course was in pretty good shape for the winter. Greens were excellent condition but very slow. This course is a good test for an average golfer but I would not pay the $69 winter rate to play it. Really good warm up facility! Driving range, large putting green, and chipping green...balls provided. Although I did not use the club house facilities, they are above average for a public course.
Lehigh Resort Club
Played On 11/08/2014Good course for beginners, not for low handicappers
A nine hole course that has eliminated a lot of rough in order to speed up game. Course is not in its best shape until January to March, which Is busy season.
Play is from 2500 to 6200 Yards, so you can chose your own length. Very reasonable if you get an off-season GolfNow price for eighteen holes with cart.....only $10. Hard to beat that price for a full length course. Tees and greens are good! Fairways....not so much.
The Links at Georgian Sands
Played On 10/12/2013Better courses nearby
It is not a bad course but no putting green, chipping green, driving range, and a staff that really does not care. There are too many good courses at better value in the Barrie/Collingwood area to waste a good day at The Links.
Heritage Hills Golf Club
Played On 9/29/2013Lots of trouble
Between long rough and lots of trees, it was easy to find trouble but not so easy to find your ball. Greens were excellent but large and challenging to read. This would not be one of my favourite courses to play but for those who are younger and hit it straight it would be good to play from the men's or the back tees.
Tangle Creek Golf & Country Club
Played On 09/10/2013Choose your distance
With five tee blocks, this course is designed to challenge you at the level you want to be challenged. Even playing from the whites, we found enough trouble aside from the greens, which are great but you had better position your ball on the same level as the pin.....very tough otherwise. Fairways are in great shape, other than recent divots and you don't want to stray into the second rough which in many spots is brutal. Not a course for beginners or hackers but middle to low handi-cappers will love it.
Trehaven Golf and Country Club
Played On 8/31/2013Medium course...great value!
The course was a pleasant surprise, as for the price, I was expecting a lower end course. Although it certainly is not the calibre of the high end courses, it was a bargain and enjoyable to play for beginners or old guys like me who shoot in the 90's.
I would definitely play it again.
The Wilds at Cedar Valley Golf Course
Played On 8/14/2013Easy except for several "strategic" shots
I was expecting a cow pasture for the price and was pleasantly surprised that the greens were in great shape and very challenging. The tee off areas and fairways were what I expected for the low price of a "walking" round. Front nine very short, mostly par threes or reachable par fours. Back nine a little longer, with several par fours, short but much more challenging off the tee. I would play the course again but it is not for the serious golfer.
Marlwood Country Club
Played On 6/27/2013Golfing close by
An 1b hole course that is within five minutes is a real benefit as long as it is at my level and not too expensive. Marlwood fits the bill with the only major criticism....their traps....this and hard...impossible to blast properly or get out properly any other way. This necessitated playing very conservatively but still a pleasurable experience. Small greens were tough to read for me but first time on a course often is! Will play again soon!
Horseshoe Resort - Highlands
Played On 6/21/2013Hills and valleys
The Highlands course is an excellent course for the under 100 golfer or the low handi-capper. Each hole is cut through the woods, which places a premium on accurate drives but the landing areas are ample. The greens were not super fast but relatively easy to read and true. We had a Golf Now twilight hot buy that made it very economical, even though ten dollars more than the Valley Course, which is not as nice.
Herons Glen Championship Golf & Country Club
Played On 2/10/2013A fun course enhanced by all the water.
Although playing at a modest 6200 yards, the course is made more challenging and more interesting by water and traps on almost every hole. Placement of the ball for approach shots is critical.
Colonial Country Club
Played On 12/1/2012Not easy but a pleasure to play on.
Got a great deal on Golf Now, so decided to try this course. everything about it is good! At my age(70), I should have played from the advanced tees as the whites made it just a little long for my game. Lots of tee settings so would be a challenge for the "bombers" from the championship tees. Landing areas more than fair and greens in great shape
Wildcat Crossing Golf Club
Played On 11/19/2012Out of season
Fairways not bad but in November their greens are awful on the front nine, not bad on back nine. Played there becuase I am a visitor to Florida and joined three regulars. Only $19 with cart so easy to over look the greens condition.
The Club at Gateway
Played On 2/20/2012Comparitively poor value
Gateway presents itself as a top tier golf course but Colonial, ten minutes away is far nicer and better value.
