El Rio is garbage

Don't play here unless you like your water hazards to be raw sewage.
Cart needed to be bump started around hole 15.
The beverage cart doesn't take plastic (but the young lady seemed nice enough).
Driving range is light years from the clubhouse & you have to get your bucket from the clubhouse then schlep them all the way back to the range to use them.

I'd like to comment on a few of these points...
There is a pond that had been drained, or was in the process of being drained at that time. It was stinky. I believe at the time, the plan was to fill it in, but that changed, and it was repaired, and filled with water. It's not stinky now!
I don't know if it is a change, or if there was just a misunderstanding, but the beverage cart will take your card to the clubhouse, and run a tab there, you pick it up, and sign after the round. It's not perfect, but it works.
They have gotten new carts, I don't remember exactly when, but it may have been after this review. (I did have one die soon after, a replacement got out pretty quickly after I called the pro shop.
As far as the course itself, it is in pretty good condition. They don't overseed the fairways, so they are dormant Bermuda. It's totally playable, and you get great run out! The greens are in really good shape. The tee boxes are a bit spotty, though generally ok. You get to use a tee, so how much difference does that really make?
Can't disagree that the range is a hike. There is a net with mats (they could use replacing)near the first tee, so you can get a bit of a warmup. It may not be a perfect course, but it is far from garbage.
