Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club - Championship Course
Played On 11/26/2020A fantastic course in Dubai
This course gets a lot of play, especially in the winter months. Despite this it always seems to be in really good shape in summer and in winter. while I was there the course was quite crowded but pace of play seemed to be on time. The staff is always smiling and accommodating with reasonable requests. The food in the Lakeview Restaurant is really good and the service is quick and efficient. Awesome course. Note that in the pics that the course had started it's winter overseeding and that the rough was slowly giving way to the winter grass.
Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course
Played On 05/21/2019Great Setting, Great Course
Having never played this course I was excited to dive right in. We had a 10:15 tee off and started exactly on time. Note: The starter holds the key to the cart until your start time. The course was in good condition and the greens played firm and fair. The lay-out around the shores of Lake Lanier Islands takes good advantage of a lot of over water shots. That being said, the course allows options to play aggressively to some of the greens directly over water (Some 250-300 yds.) and will reward that perfect shot with an eagle opportunity. Miss it and you will be hitting three from the tee-box. The same holes also give a good option to skirt the edge of the lake or shorter over water shots based on how lucky/good you are feeling. The course played really fair all day and the views over Lake Lanier are outstanding. Pro Tip: Food and beverages are free at the club house. Don't be afraid to grab water, drinks, sandwiches at the start or the turn. Enjoy!
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club
Played On 05/17/2019Good Solid Course
I last played Royal Lakes about 15 years ago. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees with light wind. The course plays a bit narrow at times but you are rewarded by playing clean shots. Out of bounds can definitely leave you frustrated as the ball will inevitably become buried in the dry leaves or poison Ivy and poison oak that seem to line the fairway on every hole that is not bordered by water. The course will definitely reward a strong and straight hitter on the water shots while also punishing those who come up short. I love the lay out and the pace. the greens were a bit soft and spongey and played very slow. Overall though a lot of fun.
