Very nice layout

Friendly staff. I liked the hole layout. Greens were in good shape for this time of year. Green fairways which is great compared to other courses in the area. I would definitely play it again.

Fun layout

Greens were trickier than they looked. But overall very nice. Some wet spots on the fairways but I have found that to be true with all the courses around here. Even though we are about 1/3 low in rain this year. I would play it again.

Best in the area so far.

Got a great deal with golf pass. Less than $60. Had a 1:42 tee time as a single and they got me out a little early. Played Cameron- Stewart. Really enjoyed the course. Played in about 4 hours after being waived thru on the back nine. I’m new to the area so I’m exploring the courses in the Leland area. This is my 5th and is clearly the best. Not sure I’d pay $100 with all the other choices but it is a great set up. Greens were fast but true.

Got a great price on Golf Now. Not an easy layout

I drove about 45minutes from Leland to play this course. Check in was easy and staff very friendly. Driving range and putting green were across the street, so I did not get to use the putting green. Some holes were relatively narrow. A fair amount of water and quite a few bunkers. The course crosses roads several times so you must be careful. I’m sure the 18th layout was dictated by the land they had when it was designed. But I was not a fan of it. Overall, an interesting layout. If I lived closer it might be a course I would play more often.

Great Course!

Played twilight, so the rate and pace of play was great. Really liked the layout and it was quite hilly for this part of the state. The gps on the carts are as up to date as you can get at any course in the country. The course was in great shape. A must play if you are in the area.

Greens need work

I really like this course. Tee boxes and fairways were great. But many of the greens had bare spots and were not puttable from some spots.

Nice layout. Could use some work

I have played this course about once a month over the last 3 years. I like the layout, ease of getting a tee time, pace of play ( I usually play as a single in early am and get waived thru groups ahead of me). But the course conditions can vary a lot from month to month. They have done a lot of work to clean up the bunkers- taking many out by planting with grass and laying new sod around many to help with drainage. On my last round I found the tee boxes to be short on grass and lots of weed clumps in the fairways and around the greens. Still a favorite course of mine in the area and I can see they are trying on course maintenance. But they could do a little better.

Course in very good condition

Very good condition. Greens were some of the best in the area. Par 66 with 2 par fives so you've got to score on the 3's and 4'a. Lots of houses along the fairways so you've got to keep it straight. Only small negative I had was with tee time and starter. Booked an 8:02 tee time as a single. When I got to the course I had an email that my tee time was changed to 8:26. Not a big deal. But starter than told me it was up to the 3 some if I could play with them. Felt like I was getting the not a local treatment. The very nice lady in the pro shop cleared it up and I went with a nice group at 8:20. Starter than apologized for the confusion. Will play here again.

Different course for Florida.

Decent rate on GolfNow. Played early, and thru one twosome, so finished in 2.5 hours as a single. For the first time, distances were difficult, especially since my Golfbuddy gps could not find this course. So getting distances from the fairways was very difficult. Found some sprinkler heads, but few and far between. Some of the greens were in very poor condition. The elevation changes were different for the courses I've played in the Lakeland and Daytona Beach areas. An interesting mix of holes. Watch the yard ages, and you may want to choose less than driver off of shorter holes, especially 17. 18 is not a real interesting finishing hole. But I would play there again.

OK Muni course

Played as a single and several groups were
Nice enough to let me play thru. Old course with many great trees, that can put you in jail. Not a fan of the raised, domed greens, but that was the design in the day. Visiting Lakeland so trying different courses in the area. Played for $20 with cart, so good value. Would probably not play here again and would try other courses.

Course in great shape.

Have played this course several times. Best condition it has been in since I first played in October. Played as a 4 some and we finished in under 4 hours on an early Friday am. Had a gps which really helped, as several of the blue tees were next to white markers but they were playing much longer than white marker distances.

Sanded greens, not enough staff

Booked on GolfNow. No info that greens were sanded and no notice from pro shop
When we checked in. One man operation
At noon-Proshop, carts, phone, bar. Guy was busy and not very helpful. Got a drink after the round. $12 for two airline bottles of bourbon in a styrofoam cup. Not much of a clubhouse. Have played course before and it is ok. OK for the price but could use some more, and friendlier staff.

Nice layout. Ok value

First time, played the Hills course. Interesting holes. Greens were just ok. A lot of ball marks. Some confusion at the start, I was a single and paired up with one of 3 threesomes, who were already on the tee. Had a great time withy 3 some. But after we had all teed off the starter wanted me to change to the cart with the other single. Told him no as we were already to go. He seemed a little miffed, but we went on our way.

Fun course to play

Played this course last March, and twice in the last week. Booked early am tee times the last week, played as a single , and was almost the first on the course(about 8am). 3 hour rounds. Course in very good condition, except for bunkers, which seems to be a big issue around here when it rains alot( which it did last week). I have found almost all the courses in this area have major problems with bunkers and rain. They should just post a sign at proshop that all bunkers are GUR, since that is how I played them. Lots of new construction going on, so there will be many more houses around the course in the next year. Still a fun course, with interesting holes and layout.

Best bunkers, fun layout, airplanes are a bonus

This is the 8th course I have played in this area since moving here in october. Got a great price on GolfNow. Played as a single and the proshop was nice enough to get me out early, in front of a twosome. Easy to see the layout of the holes for a first time player. Greens in good condition. Especially impressed with the bunkers, compared to other courses in the area. Finally found GOOD sand and well manicured. Felt like a member at a semi-private course. Will be back.

Good conditions. Good price

First time at this course. Got out early, booked as a single, paired up. Very nice fellow. We had no one in front of us until the 9th. Still finished in 3.5 hours. Interesting layout , good conditions. Fast greens, a little tough to putt for a first timer.

Always a great course to play.

I have playedthis course about 10 times and always enjoy the layout and the great maintenance. I last played here in May, so I was surprised to see all the brown grass when I played this time. In response to the major drought we have in all of California this year, I was told they have cut their daily watering use in half. As a result the driving range is all brown, except for thegreen painted target greens. And there are other areas on the course where the grass is all brown. But I applaud the management for taking this step in light of the water emergency. The course was still a joy.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for reviewing Yocha Dehe Golf Club from your recent visit. To give further details with our water situation, we cut back like most other courses did while focusing all of our efforts on keeping almost all playable areas as pristine as possible. Really the only area that comes into play consistently that was affected was the left side of the split fairway on #15. Besides that, the other small areas throughout the course affected by reduced water might come into play with very errant tee shots. So far the feedback about how well conditioned the course is for this time of year has been overwhelmingly good, so we are happy to have made it through the summer with keeping the golf course in pristine shape despite the drought and hot temperatures. I would like to speak with you about a couple of other things if you have time to call me at 530-796-5804. Thanks for your time and also for reviewing Yocha Dehe Golf Club. - Rusty Seymour, Director of Golf.

First Course Played in Portland Area

I did not know which other courses to try, so I chose Langdon Farms since it was only 20 minutes from where I was visiting. I walked on, and was told they would get me out as a single in 20 minutes. I ended up waiting more than an hour, which was not so bad, except they were not very good about keeping me informed about when I would tee off. The fairways are very wide and forgiving. But you have to chip and putt well to score on this course. Course maintenance was excellent. Very unique double green on 9/18. The 607 par 5 on the back is really long for most of us. Some downhill on third shot, but a par here is really good. I thought it was a little high in price ($61 with cart on a weekday), but I don't have anything to compare it to in the area. I would play it again,

Good local course

I have played this course many times. It is interesting and has some challenging holes (#'s 3.5,8,12, 18). I think 18 is one of the toughest finishing holes in the area, especially if wind is from the west/southwest.Course was in pretty good condition. Only 2 criticisms. The bunkers were very wet on the bottoms. I know sprinklers get in there, but it would be an improvement if they could be raked after watering, although I know it's extra labor, which is expensive. And, more minor- I am not a real neat freak but the men's bathroom needs some hard cleaning.
