About
Playing golf for fifty years. Played for both my high school and college team. Soon to be 59 and still taking a full rip. Hit it further than ever. The putting is not nearly as good as it used to be.

Callier Springs Country Club

The staff and members were very nice. The course had some nice holes. It's not fair to evaluate the course at this time as the Bermuda has not started growing yet.
Stonebridge Golf Club

Best course for the money in North Georgia. The conditions were very good but not top notch. It's not Barnsley Gardens but it's less than a third of the price. It's also the most walkable course Iv'e played in Georgia.

The course was in fantastic shape. The greens were perfect. The views were outstanding. Some of the holes are quite tricky. Hit one less club you're at altitude.

Great layout and conditions were fantastic as always. I wish the price would come down.

Played On 07/02/2019Great shape
Although the bent grass greens were lightly sanded they were fast and true. The course played tough from the gold tees but was very interesting and was in great shape. The fairways and tee boxes were perfect. It's one of the best I've played in Georgia.

Course is in very good condition. I'm not a fan of the layout but the price was right.

Fantastic layout, however, the bent grass greens were bumpy and most contained goose grass. I played the gold tees at 6800 yards. The course was designed to be played from there or the back tees at nearly 7300 yards. My two playing partners played the blue tees at 6100 yards and had driver taken out of their hands on many holes and also had some blind shots. I loved the layout from the gold tees. Every fairway was tree lined and framed with fairway buckers, yet did not play or feel too narrow. It was a great mix of holes I could play day after day and not get bored. Everything was great except for the greens.
Brasstown Valley Resort
Played On 07/30/2014Exceptional in every way!
Play this course it can't be beat. Take the advice of someone who has played golf for 50 years and is a 5 handicap. The design, scenery and condition are all tremendous. Multiple tees make it playable for all. The only course in Georgia that is near as good is Barnsley Gardens, however, Brasstown's scenery is better and is cheaper to play. Case closed Brasstown Valley is on top of my list. Staff is friendly and they make you fell welcome. Sauna and steam room in the men's locker room. Just do it you will fall in love with BV.
Bent Tree Country Club
Played On 7/22/2013Picturesque and the best bent grass greens in Georgia.
I absolutely loved playing this course and can't wait to go back.
I played from the back tees and found most of the holes easy enough. The greens were fabulous. I can't remember playing ones better than these. They all rolled at the same speed to boot. If you can't hit it straight or shape your shots bring plenty of golf balls.
Bent Tree is a gem and really fun to play. After you finish the 19th. hole beers will only cost you $1.75. I'm telling you, you can't ask for more.
Barnsley Resort
Played On 10/22/2012The best all around golf experience I've had in Georgia.
I can't say one bad thing about Barnsley Gardens other than without golfnow it would be to pricey for me. Fabulous Fazio layout in which the hole you are playing is the only thing you can see. The new Crenshaw bermuda greens were perfect, both fast and firm. I rank this course up alongside Bethpage, Ridgewood, Plainfield and Pinehurst. It is in far superior condition to any course I've played at Myrtle Beach. Breathtaking par 3's. You owe it to yourself to play this course at least once.
Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course
Played On 9/26/2012One of the best values around.
A very nice layout which has not yet matured. The fairways are thin, rough and hard. The bent grass greens are good for the most part but a few of them have problems. It is a fabulous value all things considered.
Cobblestone Golf Course
Played On 9/12/2012One of the best layouts in the state.
One of the best layouts in the state. Plays very long from the back tees. The greens are much better than past years. Bring your A game or play the shorter tees.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Towne Lake Hills Golf Club.
