Falcon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 03/12/2023Too pricey for course conditions
Have played this course multiple times over the years and this is the worst shape I’ve ever seen it in. Tee boxes, fairways, and most of the bunkers were fine but the greens were a little underwhelming. Bare spots on mostly all, a few had a portion of the green under repair, and inconsistency in the speed. It is a great layout though and very challenging.
Championship at Seven Springs Country Club
Played On 12/27/2020Greens are phenomenal
Course conditions good all-around. Especially the greens. They were deceptively fast and slow at times but rolled true. Mostly all pin placements were not in a flat spot on the green so no 3-5 foot gimmies. Watch out for gators too. Saw 3 of them all 8+ ft but they seemed pretty chill
Clearwater Country Club
Played On 12/24/2020Course was in great condition
Front 9 greens were different than the back 9. Seems like they’re nearing the end of reviving the front 9 greens and were a little slow. Back 9 greens were perfect and pretty fast. Fairways and tee boxes were in good condition. Overall, neat little course with lots of scoring opportunities and not a ton of trouble
Heritage Harbor
Played On 10/25/2020Course is always a good time
I’ve played here numerous times over the years and is one of the more challenging courses in the area. Course conditions were decent. Most greens had some bare spots but mostly didn’t come into play for putting based on the pin locations. Tee boxes and fairways were fine too. I know some courses in the area are struggling with course maintenance but this is definitely one of the better courses based on course conditions.
Front 9 is a lot easier than the back 9 IMO. Back 9 features a few blind shots to the greens/fairways that make it really tough on club selection. Overall, this course is very challenging and knowing your distances is key as a lot of the greens are smaller than your average course.
Timber Greens Country Club
Played On 05/19/2019Nice little course
Found a hot deal for $25 at 7:45am to play this course. First time I’ve played in about 6 months so wanted something relatively cheap to shake some rust off. The course itself is very short, just over 6K yards from the tips, but overall was pretty well taken care of with it being a semi-private course. Very few issues with the fairways and rough. Greens were just recently aerated so can’t really comment on them but my guess is they’re pretty slow even in pristine condition. There was one green on the front 9 with quite a few bare spots but appears they’re working on it. Layout of the course was ok. A lot of holes seemed to favor a right to left shot shape. You can find yourself in trouble on some holes with the water. A few of the fairways get really tight in the optimal landing areas so if you’re having an off day with the driver/wood/long iron, then you can lose quite a few balls here. Overall though, course is pretty easy, nothing really challenging about it. Course seemed to be missing some pizzazz with a signature hole or just the overall course layout. I shot a 90 (I was a 10 handicap as of a year and a half ago but have since stopped keeping track due to family and house renovations) with relative ease after not playing for a while. I would not mind playing again but not for more than $30.
The Eagles Golf Club - Lakes
Played On 06/17/2018Course was in decent shape
The course conditions overall were decent. The layout is challenging and if you’re not in the fairway then you’ll find the many trees and bodies of water along all the holes. The tee boxes were somewhat uneven on some holes but had good grass. It seems like they haven’t cut the fairways or greens as of late (probably because of the scarce rain going around now) but they were in good shape considering the time of year. Greens were slow and don’t break much. My one complaint is that we saw the cartgirl only once and that was at the turn. It was a very hot day and could’ve gotten some more liquids from her during our round. The golf carts do have coolers and they have them packed already with 4 water bottles in there but it’s not enough for how hot it is now. They need to put water coolers on the course and this would solve the problem unless the cart girl can drive around more frequently.
