Chapel Hill Golf Course

Greens are typically pretty well kept! Layout is a little goofy, forced to hit some irons off the tee unless you only hit driver 200. This is a relatively easy course other than that. A few tight holes and some tricky-ish greens.
It’s not that expensive nor should it be.
Great event space and always fun to play tournaments here.
Golf course is what it is, I’ve played here at least 20 times and will continue to come since I live 6 minutes away, it’s not great but the pace is usually good.

Course was in great shape. Other than a few stray ball marks untreated on the greens, this course was in really great shape for April. Greens were running relatively fast and true.

Easily the best conditioned (public) course in Berks. With that being said, the pace of play is not very desirable. Our 3-some teed off at 12:05 and didn’t get done until 4:20. 4hr15min is somewhat acceptable for 4, but not for 3 players. Especially when I was greeted with “once the tee is open it’s all yours, not that busy out there today”. I also don’t have patience for slow golfers, if you are bad, I don’t mind. But if you are bad and park the cart 30 yards from your ball, or, in a few cases yesterday, wait for the group in front of you to clear the par 5 when you are 240+ away, and I kid you not the entire 3-some hit dribblers.
That’s enough on pace, I know going there i need to be a little more patient. For the amount of play the course gets it is in great shape, greens run true and relatively quick (especially for End of April). Fairways and collars are great, the halfway house was actually open (Monday) and the fiesta dog was awesome. Staff is friendly, practice green and range on site, and overall a fair deal. I play here 3-4 times a year and am never upset with the course.
Certainly some Birdie oops out there, and this place can be forgiving off the tee.

the course was eye candy. Extremely fun to play, greens were super pure. My only tiny complaint was the extreme firmness of the greens. Unless you have pro trajectory and spin rates, it’s hard to hold some approach shots. But that’s not a terrible course trait. I’m a 7 handicap, and I played with my two buddies who are a 12 and 15 and we all thoroughly enjoyed the course and amenities. A true links style course, what a gem. Will be returning.

Course conditions were ideal. Fairways were in decent shape, greens were cut and rolled short, fastest I have seen them here (I’ve logged at least 30+ rounds here in the last 15 years.)
I’m not sure if the grounds crew was having a bad week, but the pin locations were completely uncalled for. All the pins were in the back left, most of them less than 4 paces from the “fringe” as not much of a fringe exists here. The biggest complaint with these pins are all the false edges on just about EVERY green, making it impossible to attack flags without getting punished for a minimal miss. I hit a few putts off the green that I felt good about, leading to multiple 3, and 1 4-putt. Miniature golf type stuff. As a 7-handicap, this was not very fun, and especially not fun for my father who is a 20+. Also, there isn’t really a flat putt out here, which I missed a few short putts because of not playing enough break. I shot 86 here, when normally I can easily find the mid 70s, but there was no reason for those pin locations, as they cost me easily 6-7 strokes.
