The course is a shot makers course, It can bite you but is fair.
Beautiful location and very pleasing to the eye.
Greens well maintained but a little slow for me.
The staff is very friendly and polite.
I drove from Santee , 40 miles but worth it fo a nice change.

Greens great shape. fairways some bare spot with mud but ok. PLEASE FIX YOUR DIVOTS out of respect for the course and players.

Once a beautiful east county land mark . The ownership with exception of the Ivanhoe course.,has closed the the Lakes course.No more food except hot dogs,no pro shop or real driving range. Just because it is old there is no excuse for chipped paint, gutters that are so full of leaves that almost falling off the building.Ball washers that don't work and usually no starter. I understand the current owner wants to build houses on the property so does just the minimum. Maintenance crew are working very hard and I admire them ,so thank you.
It sad that the once mighty Cottonwood is now just a place just play golf.

First the good news. Only the Ivanhoe course remains.But thanks to the hard working grounds crew, it is as good as been in the ten years i have played here off and on.The greens rolled true and the fairways and rough are very green and well kept.Thank you. The bad news, no pro shop,no starter, no cart girl, no restaurant, slowest carts in the world. The building is run down,needs repairs and paint.The Lake course is gone to weeds and is now closed. Cottonwood has been here many years and it a shame what has happened.The food was as good as anywhere, and just a fun place.
Just some paint and clean up would give this old horse some of it's dignity back.

One of the best layouts, somewhat slinks on the front and classic on the back.
Very challenging but fair.
With some simple fixes, like ball washers, fix railroad ties,yardage markers, upgrade bathrooms,
I know money is always a issue but keeping the fairways green and healthy this course good be in the top five in San Diego .

Have this played this over the last ten years.What was old but decent Club has fallen on bad times.The Lakes course closed a few years ago nothing but weeds.Th pro shop is just a counter in the once very good restaurant,which is now gone.No starter,slowest carts in the world.The Ivanhoe course is playable and trying to make a come back.But what I understand is the ownership does just enough to keep operating.To me it is almost disrespectful to the game to have a place that once offered a fun golf experience. With a little TLC ie ball washers,yardage markers sand in the bunkers without rocks and paint could bring some pride back to this historic place.

Many bare spots ,tee boxes under repair.
The greens were bumpy.
Have played here under much better conditions.I am sure the management is trying to fix problems.

I have played this course many times always in my top five, but yesterdays round the course was near perfect condition the best i have ever seen it my hats off to maintenance crew.

Many different hole challenges can be tough but very fair.
The greens were a little slow but true.
Saw a family of wild turkeys.
Will back soon,as always fix you're divots and respect the course.

Played Oak Glen many times before as well as the willow
Sycuan is near five star status for around $40.00 on golf now.
some bunker sand was very hard maybe from sprinklers but the greens and fairways pristine.

WELL MAINTAINED COURSE ,NORTH COURSE IS HARDER AND THE SOUTH COURSE HAS BETTER GREENS FOR ME.
HAS AMBASSADOR WITH WATER,CART GIRL AND FOOD AT THE TURNS.
CAN BE VERY WINDY AT TIMES BUT THAT MAKES IT FUN.

Over the last year course condition is 100% better.
Very tough but fair shots through out track.Windy in the afternoon.
Could be in the top six or eight courses if some money was spent.Broke or no ball washers,bad restroom on front nine.No over seeding in winter.beat up steps to tee boxes.
But to me a great combo links/traditional course in a beautiful setting.

This is my third time on the north course,harder than the south.
the north green have different grass.the speed is faster than it looks and the don"t seem to break.Great views,enjoyed the long par three.
The rough is shorter than before but very easy to lose your ball.

HAVE PLAYED THIS COURSE MANY TIMES, THE GREENS ARE BELOW AVERAGE ON THEIR BEST DAY .NOW WORSE THAN EVER, PUNCHED ASIDE.

MINING SAND ON THE BACK NINE,TRUCK TRACTORS ETC.
WAS TOLD THE OWNER IS ONLY WILLING TO DO THE MINIMUM TO KEEP COURSE GOING.

JUST FIX THE GUTTERS AND HAVE BATHROOM AND MAY BALL WASHER THAT WORKS.
BUT THEY DO SERVE GOOD HOT DOG

A little harder course than the south but great Par 3s.
Keep it in the fairway the rough is deep and can very hard to find you're ball.
The BAKER uses real sand in the bunkers, very nice.

The best greens i have played on in San Diego this year.
Fairways in great shape.

Somewhat narrow fair ways on thw south course.
The greens roll true and are beautiful.The bunkers have good quality sand are well maintained.
As always please fix your diviots be respectful of the course and golfers that follow.

The greens conditions are nine out ten
The course seems to play longer ,maybe because it was my first time
Looking forward to playing it again

Long course but straight fairways.
Greens are beautiful 8 to 9 out of 10.
Super slow play way over booked, but only $19.00.

Fun course, three nines.
I like the friars/presidio lay out .
The greens are very good condition but to many un repaired ball marks.
The tee boxes are poor.

PLEASE RESPECT ALL COURSES FIX BALL MARKS.

OPEN COURSE WITH SOME CHALLENGING HOLES.THE GREENS WERE JUST SANDED BUT OK. PLAYED MISSION/PRESIDIO.REAL SAND IN SOME BUNKERS AND OK SAND IN OTHERS.
