I've vacationed in HH several times, but somehow I've never found this course before....but it's a beauty.

Not being on the expensive real estate of HHI itself means that there's plenty of space, esp. on the back 9.

Some relatively long par 4's that were a challenge to reach in 2. Fairways were in good condition, and the greens were hard, fast and true.
The tee boxes need some TLC, there were several that were just dirt/sand.

Disappointed that the bar/restaurant closed at 4pm-ish, so we couldn't enjoy a beer on the terrace overlooking the 18th green when we finished our round.

But overall, a nice layout. good value for money, very friendly staff. It's a nice course...we'll be back for sure

We've vacationed in Orlando for many years. No idea why, but we haven't come across North Shore before. This week, a new local friend recommended it to us.

Wow. We'll be back every time we're in Orlando in future.

Good value (esp. as a FL resident - bring your FL DL to get the local rate), Course in nice condition; tee boxes good, fairways and rough pretty decent, Greens OK - could have benefitted from (lots of) previous players repairing their pitch marks, but that's not really the course management's fault, just lazy players. Well worth a visit - why isn't it more visible on the usual tee time booking sites ? No Idea.

I read some reviews before we played that suggested the staff weren't very welcoming. Maybe we lucked out - but everyone we met was friendly, helpful, had a smile on their face...everything you'd hope for from the staff at a course.

Worth searching for a tee time - you won't be disappointed

Where to start ? Greens infected with po-annua and/or crabgrass (I think), some unplayable, and along with the rest of the course, the grass hadn't been cut in days.
I lost two balls on the fairway (!), and a lot more in the first cut of rough because the ridiculously long grass just swallowed the ball whole.
It has the air of a course in decline, and about ready to go under. A pity, it's a good layout and, if well maintained, could be very nice track
Only one person seemed to be on duty in the whole clubhouse when we arrived. Bar wasn't staffed, couldn't get food or drink at the turn, or even use the bathrooms - the whole building was locked up (at 4pm on a Saturday !). Only saw one other staff member ALL DAY, a guy at the cart shack. Nobody (at all) out on the course, the range, 1st tee, etc - NOBODY.
Save your money !

Third time here, and it's definitely one of those courses that's better if you've been there before. Some of the angles are tricky, a few deceptive views/distances/carries, but I'm nit-picking here...it's a very nice track.
A little disorganized at the start when there were some communication problems between the starter's crew resulting in us being checked-in, but not noted as having done so on the starter's list.
But, a minor problem, they got us out very quickly.
Only gripe might be that it's a little expensive in comparison to some of the other 'top shelf' courses on HHI (Golden Bear @ Indigo Run for ex. is better value)
Excellent condition all round, tees, fairways, greens all well manicured

To date, probably my favorite course that I've played on HHI.
Superb conditions - manicured fairways, tee-boxes and greens.
Like many courses on HH, it's cut out of a pine forest so it's quite tight, but it always seemed fair, never too restrictive, room to hit.
Better value for money than some of the other upscale HH courses

'Hidden gem' is a bit of a cliche, and I guess it might have been 'hidden' only because I hadn't looked hard enough - this is obviously a very well established course. Loved it...
It has the look & feel of a club that might be a bit snooty or superior....it has that 'old money' feel to it. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming - incl all staff, other members/players, etc. they seemed genuinely happy that you had chosen to play there today. Pace of play was great on the front 9, but much slower on the back 9 - not sure why, but that would be my only criticism.
Not too long, or too short. Greens in great condition, as was everything else. My wife and I play 2 or 3 times a week, and as soon as we left Dubsdread we were thinking about when we'd be back.

Just one of those odd days when you play - and we've all had them - when you just don't 'connect' with a course.

From the outset, the place just has a bit of a 'run-down' vibe

I always check on GolfNow to make sure there's a range, before I book. GN says there is, but there isn't, just a rather dilapidated hitting net (but it did have a nice chipping, bunker and putting practice area)

Good value for money, and everyone was friendly, but....

The greens were inconsistent - not bad as such, but the speed varied a lot from green to green. I'm usually a good reader of a green, but I'm sure I had 3 or 4 puts that rolled 'uphill' (my fault I know, not the course's, but just annoying)

I'm not a huge fan of Bermuda grass everywhere on a course, and it certainly made for some iffy lies if you were off the fairway (I know, I know...'then don't miss the fairway' !!). Some lies were firm and true, but a lot of bare areas, and some very fluffy rough too. Inconsistent (again) I guess.

Overall, I just felt disappointed at the course. There were some nice holes, pace of play was great (done in 3 hours), but just a little run down everywhere - needs some love !

Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great shape. Greens were fast, but not crazy.

I'm not a huge fan of fairways lined with houses (being the owner of a pretty decent sized slice off the tee !), but most of the homes here were a fair distance back from the fairway (still managed to hit one !).

Everyone from really friendly and welcoming. Great range and practice area....and good to see several of the grounds crew out working on the course as we played - always a good sign n my opinion.

Just passing though the area and chose Old Hickory almost by chance....happy with the choice.
Very nice course - the tees, fairways and especially the greens were in great condition.
It's open to the public, but definitely has the Country Club feel about it. Great value for money.

First time playing here. A great price (we paid $30 each) for this quality of course.

Green were fast and true, but not too hard to hold an approach shot. Bunkers were well sanded and well maintained (always a good indicator of the quality of the course imho), fairways & tee boxes were also very well tended.

Plenty of yardage to test the very best players off the back tees, but several more playable tees for the rest of us!

Second time in a week playing this course, really enjoyed it.
Friendly staff, and the only time (apart from the first time we played here) that a staff member has driven our cart out to us in the parking lot as we unloaded our clubs. A simple thing, but very much appreciated.

Not too long (played off the white tees) and most holes didn't penalize a wayward tee shot too much (as a slicer off the tee, I like that !). Greens were firm and true.

Great value for money (we paid around $30), but some of the fairways could do with a more frequent cut....there were a lot of 'foreign grass' tufts that stuck up and spoiled the look of many fairways, but generally the course was in good shape, and we liked it a lot. (I guess, to be fair, it helped that I played well and carded my best score for a long time !)

I read all the positive comments on how well the $$$ had been spent on renovations, but I saw nothing too fantastic or '$3m' looking. Nothing bad, but maybe I was expecting to see a little more for $3m !
That said it was tidy, and well maintained. Tee boxes were OK, some could have done with a mow, but otherwise good. Fairways pretty decent, a few bare/sandy spots but generally OK.
A lot of quite tight driving holes, plenty of trees either side, but not too dense, so you could normally punch out OK.

The greens were definitely the fastest I've played on for a while. But they were true, so once you got used to the speed they were fine, in very good condition - but wow...FAST ! We had several 'putted off the green' scenarios during our round !

Very nice course. Great range and practice area, Course was in good condition; tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in decent shape. Most of the course winds its' way though a housing development, so hit 'em straight ! Would definitely play here again, good value for money too.

Quite a short layout by todays standards, but some clever hole designs, and water in play on most holes made it tougher that the yardage book would suggest. Needed accuracy and precision on most tee shorts and on many approaches.
Good conditions, good value for money, beverage cart came by at least twice, all in all a great day out and a very enjoyable experience.
I would definitely come back again.

After a long weather/lightning delay (which seemed to go on for way longer than any dark clouds were visible in any direction) my wife and I teed off for our late afternoon round.

That was the last frustration (apart from my usual slice). Really nice course. Great condition, clever use of the terrain, challenging but not too much so.

4 or 5 tee boxes provided a wide range of challenge level, depending on where you chose to play from.

Lots of water, greens faster than they look, but all very true.

Loved the course. A bit over priced for the quality of course, given its competition on the Orlando area, but I guess you were paying a little extra for the 'Marriott experience'.

Check on Golfnow.com, or other similar sites for deals, beacuase the standard course rates were much higher.

Played Nutters Crossing on the last day of a four day mini golfing break in MD. Other 3 courses were carved out of pine forests, NCGC was a little different.
Lot's of water, but not too challenging. Greens were nice, rolled well. Clever use of dog legs to make some short holes tougher to hit in two if your tee shot was out of position.
Despite being drenched by a rainstorm from the 12th or 13th hole onwards, we played on because we were enjoying it so much.....and it was our last day before returning to work the next day !
Nice course, good value for money - everyone was really friendly - from the pro-shop to the guys tending the course (and there seemed to be plenty of those guys out there keeping the place looking nice), to the members we encountered during the round.
You could do a lot worse than Nutter's crossing if you're in the area.!
