Cotton Creek at The Craft Farms Resort
Played On 07/01/2019Struggling Greens, Just Aerified, No Alert?
Played the course, it can be a little tricky on a few holes due to design. Maintenance has been working on the greens and was continuing to do si during play (tournament). Repaired areas were not marked and many dead and bumpy areas on the surfaces. Aeration holes very pronounced, however in a few weeks will heal. I never like playing a course when the greens are undergoing maintenance actions, especially when the sister course was in much better condition.
I suspect the greens will come along and the fairways are good, bunkers leave allot to be improved, many with different sand and some fluffed, others compacted. None are consistent.
So for me, liked played the course since I've never played it before, but not a favorite.
Staff must be mentioned, all were very helpful, smiling and attentive. Top notch!
Cypress Bend at The Craft Farms Resort
Played On 06/30/2019Never Played Before, 1st Time
Cypress Bend is a nice well maintained course, still somewhat recovering from aeration after a month or more, but the greens were very nice, rolled smooth. I enjoyed the course, but must mention the staff was over the top, great, always smiling and willing to help. The golf shop was neat, clean and maintained, professional appearance.
Thank you for taking the time to recognize our course and team. We are humbled by your comments. We can't wait until your next visit with us.
Take care,
Oaks at Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2019Pleasant Surprised
Played Oaks Course today, has been a long time, and was so pleasantly surprised at the conditions. The course is in good shape, much above most municipals I've played. The layout demanded thought, not just bang away. Somewhat narrow at times from the tee and slight doglegs require you to think. I enjoyed it and look forward to playing it again. The greens were a little slow, but still very playable. The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Thanks for a good day.
The Legends Golf Course at Parris Island
Played On 05/17/2019Perfect Conditions!
stopped on the way home to FL at Paris Island Marine Base, The Legends Course and played 18. The course immaculate, well maintained. The greens were perfect, rolled at 10.0 (posted each day on the 1st tee by superintendent). The only complaint we had was we couldn’t find any weeds; they just didn’t exist. Also, many greens had 1st and 2nd cuts bordering them, just as with the high dollar courses.

Tired Creek Golf Course
Played On 11/19/2018Big Surprise
I really liked the course, very challenging narrow tree lined track. The staff is friendly, cart top notch. I liked the layout and each green has it's own unique character. Bunkers are in good shape, easy t play from.
The course was severely hit by Hurricane Michael, 400 or more trees down, but the good news is they have really made great progress in clearing them. Stay in the fairway and you'll be fine. However I must say, so much work has been done. I caught myself judging how powerful the winds must have been. Many hundreds of miles of down trees this far inland, wow!
Bottom line is, the course is well worth the time t play and I would even say, it's a must play in this area, you can't g wrong here.
Kinderlou Forest Golf Club
Played On 11/18/2018Perfect, absolutely perfect
This course is the tops. I've played many high end, top notch curses, but none will have greens as smooth consistent as these. Pick the correct line and speed and the ball will go in, never jumping or bumped off line, or excessive grain. Nice layout and very demanding, Number 2 is a thrill.
University of South Florida Golf Course - The Claw
Played On 11/16/2018Uneventful at Best
Very flat and uneventful course. Greens are nice even though in transition this time of the year. Entire course very wet, excessive for fun play. All greens are push up greens and the perimeters are poor at best. Miss the green and you're either in weeds or severe erosion. Golf shop and dining area are drab, dirty and really ignored. Windows haven't been cleaned in quite awhile. Looks like a facility where they just get by. If you miss the fairway, weeds and dirt. Fairways are narrow and trees frequently come into play and attribute to poor turf in many areas. Good news is, the price is very reasonable, and you should enjoy your round when they dry things out.
The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Ross Bridge
Played On 07/12/2018Over The Top Conditions
Third time to play this course through the years and each time it has been better. I really enjoy the course and each shot produces a new challenge to any golfer. You better have all the shots. If you not under a 10-handicap I would suggest a large move forward! The first hole is a challenge even from the front tee. Second shot usually from a downhill lie to a heavily bunkered elevated green, in fact all greens are well protected.
Even though they experienced a difficult winter, they fared well. Progress is being made with new Zoysia collars around greens and many areas adjacent to fairways and under tall pines is being sodded with Zoysia.
We had an early tee time, second off, and never saw the singe in front of us, not was the group behind us ever close. Therefore our pace-of-play was perfect, about 3 1/2 hours.
Mattaponi Springs Golf Club
Played On 07/06/2018Wonderful and Fun Course
The course is fantastic and really great conditions after a difficult winter. I expected to see winter kill in the fairways, but, not so. The Zoysia fairways are and the ball sets up. The greens putted well, ball did not bounce and kept it's line. Many significant undulations, you better pay close attention. I would not suggest walking, and I walk all the time. Distance from green to tees can be significant. Each hole has varying elevation changes and some blind shots. This is a don't miss course.
Poplar Grove Golf Club
Played On 07/05/2018Beautiful and Scenic, A Must Play
Had a wonderful playing this course, in fact went back two-days later and played it again. Course conditions were very good, greens putted well, bunkers are very marginal at best. Aside from the bunkers,, everything was great!
The Golf Shop is very unique, a historical building in itself.
Eglin AFB Golf Course - Falcon
Played On 09/04/2017Very Poor Conditions -
If you like weeds and lots of weeds this is it. The fairways are overcome with weeds, very poor lies. The greens are also filled with weeds and the Bermuda is slow and grainy. The bunkers are poorly maintained, many different types of sand, and surrounded by weeds.
Step two strides out of the fairway and your ether in deep weeds or dirt and weeds. Poor T pads.
Eglin AFB Golf Course - Eagle
Played On 09/03/2017Sad - conditions are so bad and not getting any better
Just review the pictures they speak for themselves - weeds, weeds, roots, exposed roots, erosion, bad greens - this is what you get for the price you pay - pay little get little
Greens are much improved - Fall transistion completed and growing back in nicely
Eglin AFB Golf Course - Eagle
Played On 08/25/2017Details on GOLFNOW are bogus. No such tees exist and the slopes have never been this high.
The course green surrounds were rebuilt in 2008 and in no way resemble the original William B Langford design. The tee colors and placement of many were changed as well. GOLFNOW should ensure their information is correct.
The course is a niece military course but conditions are usually marginal. The price is right and a good course to play. I recommend it.
Kinderlou Forest Golf Club
Played On 08/23/2017Just Awesome, I Didn't Want to Leave
This is a perfect, I mean perfect, must play course. The staff is so friendly, and the price is unbelievable for a golf course this well designed and meticulously maintained. Each hole has it's own character and none are bland in any way. Every shot requires thought, you juts don;t bang it around. I cannot pick one hole as a favorite since all are exceptional. Bunkers are perfect, green surfaces, perfect and plenty of undulation.
I just returned home and am planning on a return trip, perhaps late fall or early spring.
It's not far off I-75 and they bought a motel, now the Kinderlou Inn to support golf packages, but they also have beautiful on-site condos for larger groups. Check the package rates, you'll not believe it.
I would have never believed a golf course of this caliber would be located in Valdosta, GA. I am confident this course should appear in the top 100 courses in the USA, since I have played many of them that are far below the standards of Kinderlou.
The owner, operations and maintenance staff have a fantastic course to be proud of, and they are.
The Country Club of South Carolina
Played On 07/02/2017Can't Believe It, I Expected Much Less
What a fantastic course, much more than I anticipated and even more. First, the staff is the best, so friendly, proficient and knowledgeable. They made me feel as I was "special".
The course is just fantastic, and a must play. The conditions are near perfect, even though management says much needs to be accomplished. As for play, it is perfect. The front nine is a little more forgiving than the back. All green complexes are elevated somewhat, you will not roll a ball onto the green. Putting is a challenge on very large greens so you best be in the right neighborhood. I do believe they break less than they appear, but caution is advised if you have a downhill putt. It will usually roll out more than expected.
I cannot say enough positives about this course. Even though private they accept guest play, but you'll feel like a member.
The Golf Club at North Hampton
Played On 06/29/2017What a Great Surprise! Fantastic
Never played here and stopped on our way north. Decided to play it once, but after our first round, w stayed an extra day for another.
Course conditions are great, not a weed to be found and well manicured. Thy only negative was the conditions of the bunkers but with more than 20" of rain, what could be expected. However even with that much rain, the course drained well and was a pleasure to play. The greens are huge and hole location knowledge is essential. This is a shot-makers course. The fairways are wide, but you must play to the correct spot. Number 2 is a killer if you think you can carry the fairway water hazard on the left. Many shots require course knowledge, not your visual perception. They provide a course guide and using it is advised.
For me I can't wait to get back this way again, and of course, play this course again.
Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club - Copperhead Course
Played On 06/27/2017Not What I Expected
First of all let me say right up front, we had a great time and the service was over the top. Our room was perfect, quiet, and overlooked the Island Course.
However the conditions of the Copperhead Course was far less than I expected. The greens were hard, and the green surrounds were bare in areas and overgrown on others. The rough was deep in com areas and others not as much. Many weeds and the bunkers were very bad, maybe not as bad as the Island Course, but bad. I thought the course conditions would be pristine, but not so, just the average course. Certainly nothing special.
Omni Amelia Island Resort - Oak Marsh
Played On 03/24/2017Not Sure But Will Play Again
Greens are extremely challenging especially where they set the hole locations on this day. I like the course although it appears course conditions, fairways and green surrounds are marginal at best. I hated all the ground up stone and rock cart paths that you must play off. Destroys your clubs. Many trees could be trimmed to help sunlight on tee boxes and fairways. The thing I disliked most about playing either course was the long distances between greens and tees. I felt as if I drove the golf cart for hundreds of miles.
Omni Amelia Island Resort - Ocean Links
Played On 03/23/2017Want to Play It Again
First time to play the Ocean and can't wait to return to this area and play it again. The course is challenging and fun. The Ocean holes re beautiful although I'm not a fan of back-to-back par 3's; especially since I was 1-over going into the first one and left with a snowman. Wind was hard crossing and two balls into the heavy extreme brush and rough to the left made hash of me. The next par 3 has a sloping green that is very difficult to pay, much less keep the ball on the green. Ended up with a big number, but still enjoyed the course.
Blackstone Golf Course
Played On 03/20/2017A Must Play
Course layout is well thought out. Very few bunkers would make one think the course is easy, but not so. I've found it to be a challenge and you must hit fairway center and you may pay the price when the ball bounces into the heavily wooded areas that line all the fairways. Very hilly.
