Despite winter weather and some snow yesterday, course was in good shape and greens rolled well.

Great traditional layout but only average conditions. Traps were all dirt rather than sand and there are a lot of traps. Still worth the trip as the course is somewhat remote.

Though they have made improvements and the greens were good,the rest of the course is in poor shape. They also do no marshalling Andy there’s are always people jumping holes or playing extremely slow. NO amenities at all..Cheap ( with discounts) And convenient but not a good course.

Excellent condition and beautifully designed with numerous elevation changes and views of the Raleigh skyline.Challenging and fun course to play even with the abundant strategically placed bunkers .Nice amenities like friendly staff and reasonable prices at the snack bar. A little pricey but worth it!

Despite some aerating and topdressing, the greens were fast and true and general course conditions were very good. this is a good layout with many scenic views and tough holes. Excellent value with discount tee time.

This is a good layout but the current conditions are pitiful. Almost every tee box was nothing but dirt as were most greens.Apparently, they no longer bother to maintain the course. Also, the pro seemed to not really think the conditions were that bad! STAY AWAY!!!

Forget the"Shores" part.Ther is only one brief glance of the river and you wouldn't know otherwise there is ariver anywhere nearby.More importantly,they charge premium prices for a course that is currently in poor shape- almost every green apron is just dirt,many tee boxes have little grass and many greens are in poor shape.Definitely Not worth the price!
Finally, the design is the typical Nicklaus design that is fine if you hit a high fade 3 iron 200+ yards but not so good for a 10 who relies on ground roll and bump and run. The course is also unwalkable with 1/4 to 1/2 miles between some greens and tees.They brag about the 8 miles of cart paths!
Also,saw the cart girl once on a 95 degree day.
All in all, definitely not worth the price- go to Laurel Hill for a much better maintained , fairer course.

Kind of out in the middle of nowhere but a tremendous course by a top designer for a very reasonable price. Scenic layout with almost no blind shots and first rate conditions, even in a summer drought. NO houses anywhere and each hole is well-defined and not parallel to any other. 6 sets of tees accommodate any skill level, as well.

Pleasant staff, great layout and conditions. Expensive but still a good value with discount tee times.

This is a pretty good layout,though the back 9 is far better.But,the conditions were not as good.Every tee box was bare or patchy and they seem to have given up on maintaining any sand traps.The greens were generally decent though some had actual holes other than the cup.
Overall,this could be a pretty good course with some maintenance.Since I got a very good rate on Golfnow I can't really complain though.

The course winds through a residential area and requires numerous crossing of roads or driving the cart on streets.that's for starters,then there is the course which has multiple blind shots and hidden hazards.Local knowledge is required and they don't bother to help unfamiliar players with either a course diagram on the card or at each tee.Staff was friendly but not particularly helpful.I won't be back.

Good layout with most of the difficulty on and around the greens.Good conditioning but not at the level of the green fees.Had I not had a significant Golf now discount I would have definitely felt cheated.Staff was very friendly and ice machines out on the course is a nice touch.

The course has some nice views along the river but is a ridiculous design with almost no room for error on most holes and crazy double doglegs and a horseshoe par-5.Combined with poor condition of tees,fairways and greens there's not much to recommend this track.
