We love the course, even if the course was not so in good shape this time. The yellow tee boxes were mostly sandy then grassy. The greens wer pretty good.

What we liked earlier, when staff members came with the cart to the parked car, is obviously not anymore.

I love this course. It’s in very good shape. Haven’t played since 2018 and it’s still top. I do recommend it strongly.

The course is not even the worth the fee we paid ($35)! The condition of this course is just not acceptable. The Tee boxes were worse than bad and the green not quiet better. One green don't even had a flag stick (see picture). It's embarrassing, to leave a golf course in such a crappy condition.

The only positive point is the Clubhouse, it is very nice and the Restaurant too.

Nevertheless, I do not recommend this course at all! It's not worth to get there!

Played it a few years ago. To come back was disappointing. The course needs definitely more maintenance and care. The fairways were „soso-lala“. Some of the greens were pretty bad. The tee boxes, specially the white were disastrous. Some of them had no grass, just sand. Definitely not playing here again. Not worth the money.

Pros:
• Like the layout.
• Fast greens
• Good pace of play (3:30 h)
• Fast E-Carts
• Clubhouse Restaurant still open at 6:00pm

Cons:
• Strange cart rule (you get the cart key just before your tee time).
• You have to walk with clubs to the driving range.
• Before 3:00pm no carts on the parking lot.

For me, Riverwood is the #1 golf course in Florida. No question. Everyone enjoys playing on such a well-kept course. That's why appropriate maintenance is needed. This means that there are times when the golf course needs to be over-seeded. Then it says “Cart Path Only!” That was the case. The pace of play is then much slower, because you're not allowed to drive the cart on the fairways. Everyone knows and sticks to it.

The fact that the Marshall reacted very exaggeratedly, when I was standing on the grass next to the restrooms at tee #5 with two wheels, so that other carts could pass, is absolutely unacceptable. Especially since the grass there wasn't newly sown. This guy was already pretty unfriendly at the Starter house. It is not appropriate to talk to guests in such a tone.

The staff from the pro shop, restaurant and bag drop was very friendly and accommodating as always.

Again a great day, but pretty windy.. The amenities right now are not yet 5*****. I can’t wait until the clubhouse and everything gets finished.

Great Course. Friendly. The entire Course is very well maintained. Challenging Layout. Good for Longhitters. Greens are even nicer and faster than those at Riverwood GC in Port Charlotte! I’ll come back anytime.

We love this course. Very nice and fast greens. The teeboxes #2 and #3 need some remaking.

Since a few days, there are all new very fast electric carts (Lithium) with GPS.

Challenging Layout. It needs more maintenance. Greens are ok. Bunkers are really bad. Sand was mostly green, from spraying the grass during summer. Probably they didn’t rake them with a machine for some months. Absolutely no go!

New course, I like the layout. Nice and fast greens. It’s gonna become a jewel in the area. Currently lot’s of construction sites around, but that won’t keeping me from playing there.

The only thing I would complain is… too less street signs to get there. It’s not yet in most of the navigation apps, it’s too new. iPhone users use the Apple maps app. It’ll bring you to their address (Wellen Golf Street). With others you’re gonna get lost.

I really recommend this course.
