Eagle Chase Golf Club
Played On 10/08/2020Excellent course!
I've played Eagle Chase a few times over the years and today I would say it was in the best shape I have ever seen it. The greens were in near perfect condition, very well maintained with no visible issues. Great experience!
Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation
Played On 07/30/2019Always been a great challenging course
I haven't played there in years. Course condition was in excellent shape. Greens rolled well with minor pitch marks and bare spots. Pace of play was excellent.
Thank you for visiting us at Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon!
Tot Hill Farm Golf Club
Played On 01/04/2017Destination Course
Even though the course was wet from heavy rain and winter conditions, the greens were receptive and putted true and fair. This is the best golf course I've played in North Carolina even in sloppy conditions. It has a totally different look, design, and playability than the usual courses. Great fun! I didn't even mind getting a little beat up on my score.
Fort Mill Golf Club
Played On 07/19/2016Great shape, with very few minor issues
Fort Mill was one of the best condition courses I've played in the area - compared to Skybrook, Emerald Lake, Eagle Chase, and a few others in the area. The bunkers had super soft sand despite some gravel, greens were in great shape minus around 3 holes with dead spots, and they were running fairly quick (albeit grainy). It looks like they hadn't moved the cups in a few days, due to the burned out edges. The layout was very fun too - with the only weakness I'd point out being I believe #12, which is by far one of the hardest par 5's I've ever played - requiring a forced draw or a sub-250 drive from the tips, followed by a 200+ layup to have a chance at a wedge in. I would put it on par with Tillery Tradition and Deer Brook, but being much closer to Charlotte than either. Very walkable as well. Played in just under 3 hrs.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Charles!
We actually are considering removing some trees on the left side of #12 to make the tee shot fairer to all golfers. No final decision has been made at this time, but we do appreciate your comment about that particular hole.
Have a great day!
Ocala Golf Club
Played On 12/28/2015Gem of a course
Everything about our round at this course exceeded our expectations. The staff, from the check in, the starter, to the grill ladies were the most courteous I've ever experienced. Thank you so much for making our day a great one.
Deer Brook Golf Club
Played On 08/12/2015Private club quality at a muni price
The overall feel of the course was much more like a high-end course than a small country course. The range felt like we were hitting off of fairway lies (no sand-filled divots to hit around!) and was in immaculate shape. Greens all ran quick enough, but not so fast that downhill putts fly away from you. We were never in bunkers, so that wasn't really an issue.
The greenside rough plays thick and is grabby, as it should be, and the fairways were all well-maintained. There were only maybe three or four rough patches on the course - one on I think #11's green on a severe slope comes to mind. However, compared to any course in the Charlotte area, you could easily pay twice the price in the metropolitan area and not be on as good of a course as Deer Brook. It plays on the harder side from the tips, with only one or two par 4's under 400, but the greens are well bunkered, requiring more strategy when hitting into greens. The par 3 course next door is a fun way to burn time and avoid traffic as well - albeit with slower greens. Their yardages were frequently 10-20 yards off, so if you know your yardages I'd bring a scope to be safe. Mostly from 80-120 yards.
Your feedback is important to us, Charles5686206. Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon! Thanks for choosing Eagle Chase Golf Club.
