SilverRock Resort
Played On 11/11/2016Great Golf - Poor Customer Service
We play SilverRock every year on our annual Palm Springs vacation and love the course. The layout and conditioning are top notch. Unfortunately the level of customer service doesn't match the quality of the course. The pro shop staff seem to begrudgingly check us is, the starter is aggressively disinterested in being helpful and the on course marshals may as well not even be there. We waited 5 minutes on every tee box, there were large gaps between groups and the marshals just drive around not talking to anyone about it. We were told on the 1st tee that pace of play is important, and then staff do absolutely nothing to keep things moving. Might be time to find a new course to play, there are lots of courses in the valley that make you feel like a valued customer rather than an inconvenience.
Okanagan Golf Club - Bear
Played On 08/01/2016Worth A Second Visit
We played the Bear course at Okanagan Golf Club for the first time this week and had a great time. The layout, for the most part is enjoyable, interesting and challenging. There is only really 1 blind tee shot which is great given it was our first time playing. Most holes wind through stands of pine trees which makes it very enjoyable and there are no house on the course which makes it even better. The conditioning of the course and the greens was excellent. Bring your A-game to be able to stop approach shots close to the hole as the greens are firm. Over all this is a good value and an enjoyable round. We will be back.
TPC Tampa Bay
Played On 03/06/2016Great Layout, needs some conditioning
We played the course twice when visiting the area and we were really excited about the chance play this course. There were aspects of the days that we loved and those that were disappointing. On the plus side, the best putting surfaces I have played, and the course layout is fantastic and challenging plus the staff are friendly and professional.
On the negative side, the conditioning of the bunkers was poor in spots and looked like they hadn't been tended to for more than a few days and at the prices that isn't what we would have expected. Overall it was enjoyable because of the layout but have to say I would look for other options if in the area again.
Indian Wells Golf Resort - Players Course
Played On 11/14/2015Love It - Repeat Every Year
We play the Players Course every time we come to the area; it is one one our must play courses. The course layout is challenging enough for good players and easy enough for higher handicaps as long as the proper tee is selected. As a 4 handicap who can hit it pretty far, the Blue tee is more than enough of a challenge, especially when on vacation. The course plays fair but will penalize for off line drives and approach shots. Have your camera read as well as the approach shot on 18 is photo worthy.
PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course
Played On 11/13/2015We Will Be Back Again
This was out first time playing La Quinta Dunes and we were impressed. There are three important components to any course, the layout, the conditions, and the scenery. The only thing the Dunes course lacks is scenery, but the Pete Dye layout and the challenges the course creates more than makes up for that. We played when the course was just re-open after over seeding so non in top notch condition but still really good. Greens were the fastest and firmest we have played this week. Also has one of the best practice ares we have been to this week. We will return for sure
PGA WEST Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course
Played On 11/12/2015Fun in the Desert
We have played this course 4 or 5 times now and each time it reveals more of its challenges. The course is good for a challenge more advanced players and is OK for higher handicaps as it plays fair. The layout and design is good and although lined with houses on most holes they don't intrude on play very much. We play this course every year on our annual trip to the desert and will continue to do so. The staff are friendly and professional and practice facility is one of the best.
Indian Wells Golf Resort - Celebrity Course
Played On 11/09/2015Love it Every Time
This course is on our must play list every year. There are three things that I consider that makes a course great: the layout/design, the conditions, the scenery/views. The Celebrity course has all three. It is one of the prettiest courses we have every played and it presents a challenge for all levels of golfer. We love this course and will continue to play it regularly.
Fairview Mountain Golf Club
Played On 09/07/2015Best Course in Okanagan
We play Fairview quite often and even though we know the course, it constantly presents new challenges.
The greens at Fairview are the best putting surfaces in the Valley.
The staff, from the bag drop, to proshop to restaurant are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
We will continue to play this gem for years to come.
Escena Golf Club
Played On 11/14/2013Definite Must Play
We come to the Palm Springs area every year in November and had never played Escena before. We wanted to try a new course this year and we are very happy we did. Right from the start our experience at Escena was perfect. The front staff at the bad drop were friendly and informative, the pro-shop staff very friendly and helpful, and the course was amazing. Perfectly conditioned, plays challenging but fair, and is very scenic. We will definitely play Escena every chance we get.
Looks like you have some real issues here regarding pace of play and stacking golfers. I was planning on booking for Christmas Holidays but reading these reviews I don't think so.
