Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/03/2023Terrible Greens
The greens were seeded but not maintained. Almost beat to use a diver to putt in order to get it to the hole from 10 feet. Also, seed distribution was aligned and that changed the ball movement. A slight cutting of the grass in the early morning may have made for better greens.

Greens are still in need of TLC. Rest of course okay but drying up due to lack of rain. Cart girl was fantastic. Overall, current condition makes it a low $30 course and nothing more.

Much improvement in the course over the past two years, however condition of numerous greens leave a lot to be desired. Two greens especially that are being treated for the past several months (holes 7 and 17). Might as well skip the putting on these through the dirt.
This mid Spring will determine if this course is back or headed towards a downhill spiral. Depends on if rain and treatments work. If not, I will start looking at other courses nearby.

Unkept Tee Boxes……sucked! Deadpan Fairways……sucked! Unmoved rough……sucked! Greens……totally sucked! Pace of play……sucked because they had no Ranger!
Total rip-off for the price.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

Played On 07/29/2022Hurry Up and Open Silverleaf!!!
I have played Cimmarone for over twenty years and my latest round had to be the worst conditions for this course that I have ever seen! Only positive was that the water was clear and it allowed me to retrieve a few golf balls to make up for the money wasted on this round. Previous negative reviews were on point and I just wish I’d read the before booking my round. Tee boxes were bad. Fairway and rough barely maintained, greens totally sucked as it was all sand and no Course Ranger led to us skipping a few holes to bypass groups who had no clue about letting us play through. Final consensus from my group was that we could not wait for the next door course, Silverleaf, to open so that we have that option or South Hampton and St John’s GC as alternatives to this crappy course.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

Played On 05/27/2022Pick It Up
Greens recovering but still need work. Even a 3 foot putt bumped its way to the hole, so pick it up if you don’t want to lose a stroke. The 15th hole was hellacious with mainly dirt and fertilizer on the fairway. Conditions overall make this a $25 to $35 round of golf at this course. They’d better “pick it up” with the new course about to open up the street.

Good deal when booked. Arrived at course only to learn ALL 18 greens damaged and they were using temporary greens. We were one of 3 groups on entire course so pace of play was understandably great. Problem was that the info about the greens wasn’t provided on Golf Now and the clubhouse only provided info on one small sign at their door. Should have known there was a problem when I arrived to find only 5 cars in the parking lot in the middle of the day. No wonder Eagle Landing has little to no tee time availability and jacked their prices up by 40%.

Previous reviews convinced me to try this course. Had an image that was off. Decent municipal course that was worth the cost and one-hour drive.

Played On 10/01/2021Surprising Day
Greens were in very good condition on most holes. Fairway was rough in certain spots. Mike the starter was great in coordinating tee off on the 1st hole. Cart girl was always Johnny on the spot.

Unfortunately, TPC audience had to find a place to go and this course was one location. Seemed like they had no clue about etiquette or pace of play. Group in front of us drove cart right to edge of green and kept thinking they could hit a 3 wood 250 yards. Yep, and then dribbled it 50. Took my twosome 4 hours and 50 minutes to play 18.
My suggestion to course if this ever happens again is to add more rangers than the one to keep players moving.

Played On 11/15/2019Greens Horrible - Carts Suck
Grass on greens was too high and extremely slow. Had to pound 6 foot putts. Carts sucked and did not carry a charge. Tried three before I found one that worked and had to swap before the back nine since the cart wouldn’t move. Told the club house and the excuse was “they are 5 years old and on their last leg.” The fifth cart died at the end of the last nine and we had to push it back to the clubhouse from the last hole.
Hello, Peter. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the condition of the carts. Your feedback is important to us, and we are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.

Played On 11/01/2019Greens Were Bad
Greens need a lot of work. No ranger, so pace very slow. Tee boxes were mostly dirt. Probably won’t play there again, unless things change with maintenance of course.
Peter, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

Played On 11/23/2018Greens were terribly slow!
The rye grass on the greens made every putt an adventure. Way to slow and uneven. It added at least 10 shots to my round.

Been playing the course several weeks now. Fairways and rough in very good condition. Greens getting better after aeration several months ago. Playing partner even compared it to Slammer and Squire.

Played On 05/04/2018Golf Pro Lesson Caused Slowness
There was a twosome in front of us holding up the round. Realized it was the club golf pro giving someone a lesson. The pupil was hitting four to five shots while we waited on the tee box. They must’ve noticed our frustration, so they quit after nine holes. Cost us at least 30 minutes on the front nine..
To make it worse, there was no water in the coolers on a majority of the hole. Bone dry as we waited in frustration waiting for the pair to move on!!!

Played On 02/09/2018Grass on Greens
Several greens had blades of grass and lots of dirt. Overall it was a decent experience for the rate but I played Orange Park Cc the week before and it was in better shape for the same price.

Played On 10/06/2017Where’s the Water!
I try to play this course often since the price is reasonable and location is close to home. During my last round ALL of the water stations did not have coolers AND no cart person!. Likewise, ALL of the bunkers were in terrible shape and not maintained but luckily I avoided hitting into any of them. Lastly, mowing seems to have been reduced since the fairway grass was taller than normal and the rough seemed to not have been mowed in months. Not mowing the rough can be challenging but losing your ball everytime your ball rolls in the rough is unacceptable. This course needs to pick it up a few notches to maintain my patronage.
Good Afternoon Peter,
Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately we were under a boil water alert the day you played our course. We had signs posted advising golfers. However, we sincerely apologize you were unaware of this information.
As all courses in the area, we continue to recover from recent weather events.
We hope you will continue to play Cimarrone.
