Dunmaglas Golf Course
Played On 06/30/2018Not worth the 100$
Interesting course. Rustic and natural. These kinds of courses have a place in my heart, however, the 99$ greens fee was WAY too much for this course. Shaggy tee boxes, fairways, aprons and greens. Course is not maintained as well as the Boyne mountain courses or other 100$ courses in the area.
I arrived to the course at 7:00 on a Saturday morning and the clubhouse was locked and not open. I did not have a tee time, because the tee sheet was wide open all morning. Had to wait around until 7:45 for the pro shop staff member to finish cutting greens
The layout was pretty fantastic minus a couple really quirky par 3s. May have been pin position/tee combo (played the tips).
Save your money and play the other fantastic courses in the area. I think this course is worth about 40-50$, and no more.
The Cedar River at Shanty Creek
Played On 06/29/2018Great layout, ignore the staff
If it weren’t for the ranger giving us a “pace of play” lecture before our round, this would be a 10/10 course.
Nobody on the course on a beautiful Friday morning and the starter felt the need to lecture us on keeping each hole to ~15 minutes.
Before we even teed off:
“I’m sure you don’t care how long it takes you to play your round, but the people behind you do”
WONDERFUL layout, fast greens that roll true, and receptive to long irons. Scoreable course, pretty wide fairways. Nice par 3s!
Get rid of the starter and this would’ve been a 10/10!!
Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club
Played On 05/10/2018Wonderful track
Wickenburg is right up there with Quintero, better layout than boulders and the GREENS, OH MY!!!
Best greens I have ever played on.
Easily worth the drive from Phoenix area.
Play it before it goes private!
