A beloved course by many seeing conditions deteriorate

Although this is a great course, there are some misses that can be remedied if only the owners would take care of. #1 The parking lot. At a course like this charging what they do, the lot should be paved. It's nothing but gravel. #2. The cart paths at the very least should be repaved in areas where they are so bumpy the cart bag wants to bounce out. #3 The carts themselves are probably the slowest I've ever been on. #4 updates to the bar. It feels like stepping into a 1970's pub. The pro shop is bare minimum. Restrooms feel dingy.

All that said, the course layout is awesome! It's long and relentless. Once you think you've played some hard holes, this course drops the hammer on you. There's a 3 hole stretch on the back nine (2 of which are back to back par 5's) that require long straight shots place properly to have a decent shot towards the hole. If you don't have a decent game, stay away from this course. You're going to go through a pack of balls or more if you typically shoot in the high 80's or 90's at most courses. If you're game is advanced and you need some challenge, then look no further. This course will test you on all your clubs and having you hit straight, draws and fades on demand.

Perfect greens...no more?

This course has long been a favorite to many of people in the area. Usually priced appropriately, a good amount of difficulty for your decent weekend player (not for hacks). However, the once praised greens were lacking this time. They were plenty fast. Almost too fast. But the greens that used to putt so true were marred by unexplainable breaks and wiggling lines. They were very difficult to read and trust for this round. Hopefully they will come back despite the high amount of traffic this course gets. This round: 4 hours 50 minutes. OUCH!

Worth. The. Trip.

Absolutely love this course. They take wonderful care of it, and the layout will have you reaching for every club in your bag. The conditions when I played were awesome. The rough is actually rough, which is great since it feels like most courses cut it so short these days. The GPS system on the carts is pretty nice considering you normally don't see this feature on courses paying less than $60/round. It's a bit of a drive from Columbus, but definitely worth the trip.

Best course. Value is a bonus

Such a great course. Has a little bit of everything. Long and short holes, dog legs, water, speedy greens, carpet fairways, putts true. Just an outstanding golf experience. This would be my home course if I lived nearby. Cannot WAIT to come back.

Ok course, updated clubhouse...but should they?

The course itself is probably as good as it gets. The greens were putting true as long as they weren't covered in falling dead flowers from the trees. Tee boxes are mostly flat and not beaten up yet with heavy play. I played my last round there on a Friday mid-day and finished in about 2 hours. I would like to see the cart paths improved on this course. It's nice that they have paths, but it's just stone paths. No pavement. Many areas leave you bouncing around inside the cart, so some enjoyment is lost there.

They have invested in updating the clubhouse, which is nice, but I think they should've updated the course instead (particularly said paths). The course is probably the 2nd best value in Marysville, but with some updates, they could charge more and worry about the clubhouse later. The increased fees would've paid for that update. I'm sure it will be nice taking in revenue with the golf simulator during the winter months, but most of us are there for the golf.

The other place I think could've used investment first is the bathrooms. This is probably the biggest pain point in the clubhouse. It usually smells funky in there, but it didn't this visit, so there's that.

All that said, I still plan to play here frequently.

It's a fun and challenging course!

I'm really getting to be partial to the Golf Club of Dublin. This time of year leaves many courses around the area needing the standard upkeep and it shows. But really, the worst part of the course was the greens. They've yet to be mowed and rolled, so putting wasn't entirely true, and very slow. I still made plenty of putts, so it isn't that bad.

I played the day after some pretty heavy rains and high winds, so it was soupy in places, but not bad at all. The course seems to shed water quite well.

The driving range was closed on this day due to too much water, and the on-course restrooms were closed as well. This made my final few holes a little inconvenient. The bathrooms in the clubhouse are outstanding though.

I'll be back again, but probably not at the price point they are during the summer. I'll be on the lookout for another hot deal.

Short, tree-lined course with sloping, fast greens

I played this course on a 92°F day, but was highly protected by shade on almost every hole.

The good: fun little track with enough variability to keep you focused. Nothing overly special, but in very playable shape. Your short game needs to be on to score here. The greens are no joke. Lots of mature trees keep the wind at bay, so most shots aren't bothered. The pace of play was decent, but I never saw a range monitoring, so it was just luck I guess.

The not so good: the cart paths do not connect throughout, so finding the next hole can be a challenge at times. The greens are super slick. I had a putt from about 40 feet I had to aim 20 feet left on. The putt never slowed and ran past 20 feet. That put was side hill. The course is quite short, so you're not hitting driver a lot. 6000 yds from the tips. The greens make up for the length. Carts here are very slow except when going downhill. Hold on tight! Lots of blind shots. Course length won't have you reaching for many different clubs. No beverage/snack cart on a Saturday?

This is a value only play

You won't come here because you absolutely love this course. There's plenty of areas that aren't taken care of. Bunkers are unplayable. Greens are incredibly slow and difficult to read. Tee boxes are far from level. That said, you won't pay much to play here (sub $thirty w/cart), so use this course for what it is. A place for you to work on your swing and to learn how to play in general. Don't expect to come here as a low handicapper and have a great time. Come here as a mid-tier handicapper with thoughts of improving and executing course etiquette.

For the locals...fix your ball marks.

Awesome conditions for golf in central Ohio... Finally!

Greens, fairways and tees were all in great shape. Bunkers has huge mounds of sand added, but it didn't impact play much, but the bunkers that were ready we're fantastic. Greens were rolling very true and quick. Pace of play was fantastic despite being busy and no ranger. For the price, it was worth every penny.

Wet ground, but still in good shape

This course isn't known for its undulating greens or rolling fairways. In fact, it's pretty flat. They keep it in great shape, and with a few strategically placed bunkers, a mix of distance, smooth greens and level tees, this course provides just enough challenge that is fun to play. The new design is finally starting to settle in making the whole course pretty uniform in terms of consistent play. Pace of play wasn't an issue today, but it's January. The clubhouse is quite dated. You'll be stepping back into the 70's the moment you step inside, and you can tell the lockers haven't seen use in years. It is what it is. A good course near where planes land. Kinda cool

Best Bang For Your Buck!

This course has got to be one of the most highly under-rated courses in the Central Ohio area. Easily the best bargain. Although some of the grass is burnt, the greens and tees and nearly perfect. I'd say far better than some courses charging 2-3x more than this one. Everything about this course is simple. Simple clubhouse/parking/access to golf carts/access to 1st and 10th tees.

There is one bad thing about this course. Be sure to buy lots of water. There isn't any provided on course, and there is no cart driving around looking to sell you any. Also, they make you spend $5 minimum to use a card for payment. Bring cash for that $2 bottle of water (or go fishing for change in your car like I did).

Such a great layout, lacks maintenance...

I wish this course was in better shape. It would be a gem. The greens are burnt in too many places, bunkers don't have sand with too many rocks. Some bunkers are just dirt and grass. Fairways are okay, but only because they're playable. Glad I only payed 14 hot deal. Wouldn't pay a penny more. Cart paths are gravel with a ton of large dips.

Just the right amount of difficulty.

I was pleasantly surprised by this course. 23 dollars well spent. Worth every penny. Wish it was a faster round, but it was busy. The greens are quick and sloped. Bring your putters' a game. It will not be uncommon to fire your putt far past the hole.

Narrow fairways here, but spraying won't necessarily result in lost balls. Most lies are payable.

This course falls right in line with most courses pricing in the 20 dollar range in that fairways and tee boxes are bluegrass, but greens are bent. They could cut them shorter, but it's playable.

All in all, very enjoyable round.

Unplayable conditions

So much if the grass is dead on this course. The greens are in horrible condition. The whole course is soggy too. During my round (which I quit early because of the conditions), they left the water running on the green twice. I had to wait for them to turn it off. Needless to say, I couldn't even putt because of the standing water. I wouldn't play here for free, let alone the twenty five Golf Now asking price. This is disappointing considering this place used to be one of my favorite courses. Now it's just junk.

Greens could be faster

Although this course is highly maintained, I sort of expected more. There's basically no rough, so missing the greens isn't penalizing. Lots of tall fescue to hide your ball on extremely errant shots.

The greens are true but hairy. Luckily the locals are nice enough to fix the majority of their ball marks. Just about every hole is straight ahead. Driver off the tee on just about every hole. No shot shaping necessary (except maybe the 18th if you're long enough).

It's still a course that plays better than most, so that's why I gave it 4 stars. I don't know if I'd ever pay more than forty to play here though.

The strangest part of this course is that the clubhouse is a mobile home lol. Classy.

Ohio's arm pit

I've never played an Ohio course in such poor condition. When I first arrived, there were no signs pointing to where the clubhouse is located. There's 4 buildings to choose from. This was the first sign of the lack of signage this place uses (pun intended). In fact, I played the 9th on accident, because the 7th wasn't marked. Figured it was part of the back 9 or something.

The greens are in such poor condition, I would rather putt on shag carpet. There's no sense in keep your score due to this. Unless you want to feel like you're playing on the first golf course ever created. If they lost their greens, it would be extremely useful to have a HUGE sign that says, "Please forgive us as we're growing our greens back for a better customer experience!" If they did that, I would be more inclined to return in a year to see how they've progressed. I'm so happy I paid under twenty to play here, because I would hate to pay anything over that.

The tee's are flat. There is no fairways. Well, they look like fairways, but the grass is so long, it's like playing out of the rough on EVERY shot.

If this course had bent grass throughout, I would love this course because it does have a fun layout.

Nice greens...if you can get to them.

This course is set up like a PGA tour course, minus the distance. It's about 6900 from the tips, so it's about 300-500 yards shy of that. However, the fairways are very undulating. You rarely have a flat lie. The bunkers are painfully deep. Try not to hit a bunker. Not even a green side one. There are enough doglegs and benders to keep the shot shapers happy. The fairways play very firm too. A good drive could earn 20-30 yards of roll.

The one negative about this course is the groundskeepers. About 50% of my round involved hearing yet another mower or weed-wacker. Some were good about turning their equipment off while I played, yet others seem to not care at all. Granted, I only paid $20 to ride this course with Golf Now, but the standard rate is over $40. If I paid that, I'd be a little upset.

The layout of the course is amazing! The Greens had been a aerated, so they were a little bumpy. Not unplayable though.1 annoying thing is that they do not allow you to take the golf cart out to your car to load and unload your clubs.
