Puntacana Resort & Club - La Cana Club - Arrecife Course
Played On 10/08/2023Great course for okay value
Typical layout for an ocean course with mostly straight fairways so you can hit your driver without too much risk. However, missed fairways will put you in the many playable waste areas. Greens are near perfect...large landing area, not too fast or slow, break less than you'll expect and receive your approach shots without running out. The rough is rough but playable. Lots of water in play for slicers. Plenty or room to avoid bunkers (fairway and greenside) but expect to find a few of the playable waste-bunkers because they're on nearly every hole. Pace was perfect.
Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club
Played On 10/07/2023Beautiful course with immaculate greens
The course is very long but has wide fairways to bomb your driver without too much risk. However, missed fairways equal lost balls. Greens are near perfect...large landing area, not too fast or slow, breaks like you expect and receive your approach shots without running out. The rough is rough but somewhat playable. Not much water in play. Plenty or room to avoid bunkers (fairway and greenside) but expect to find a few of the playable wastebunkers because they're on nearly every hole. Had the course to ourselves so pace was perfect.

Played here only because there are no other options in the area. Good course but over-priced and no value-add extras included.
Riverside Golf Course
Played On 04/11/2018Good layout, poor course conditions
Course has a good layout with lots of hazards and OB. Great for practicing long irons, tight lies and shot-shaping. Although greens are in decent shape, the overall course condition is poor with most fairways needing grass and water. Bunkers are playable and water on many holes force you to hit shots. I'd play it again for the GN price.
St. Marlo Country Club
Played On 10/18/2014Wet & Slow
Tee'd off at 9:04am and course was really wet although it had not rained the day prior. Course had been over-seeded and over-watered so it was cart-path only. So, pace of play was very slow as course is long and hilly and the over-growth made it very hard to locate your ball if even slightly off the fairway. Fairway undulations didn't help either and it was hard to judge which hill the balls cleared. Otherwise, great links layout and beautiful scenery. Some long and some short holes but greens were well-guarded by slopes and plenty of bunkers. I would recommend but only if 90 degree in effect. If cart path only , expect round to last 5+ hrs.
