Wasioto Winds at Pine Mountain State Park Golf Course
Played On 10/01/2019hidden gem
i have play around 50 different daily fee courses and this course is at the top. you must decide your risk level on many of the holes, and how many balls you are willing to lose. tee boxes were a bit haggard and hard. greens had been aerated and were healing nicely. greens are tricky in some areas making puts do some unanticipated breaks., greens were well watered.. great fun.
Eagles Crossing Golf Course
Played On 02/28/2018nice relaxing round
course in good shape for February, including the greens. only a few wet spots with poor drainage on 3 holes. not bad for all of the rain recently. our foursome had a relaxing round, with no problems. fun course with some long holes. the older electric carts are a little slow, especially up the hills. last time we played, we had to switch out our dying cart at the turn for another one. new carts likely mean increased green fees, so there is that to balance.
Sunset Golf Course
Played On 01/24/2018customer service
My group played Sunset last month and had a great time. However, yesterday on the way there I got a call from guy in our group who said the course was closed due to flooding, and they had given him 2 weekday passes to account for our pre-paid Golfnow reservation. I told him there should be three. The pro-shop wanted me to prove that to get the 3rd pass. So, I drove there and showed them on the computer screen, then the manager walks in and ask what is going on. He says NO, we don't give passes, and to take it up with Golfnow. Fine, but thanks for having me drive out here.
Next, I informed him that recently Springwood was closed and they had called us to tell us the day before. Golfnow also called us, which is nice and great customer service. Today whilst getting my refund, Golfnow said they can only call if the course informs them. Sunset manager also said they will not call people on the tee-sheet. Poor customer service I told him. oh well, just have people drive over an hour round trip only to find the course closed.
Eagles Crossing Golf Course
Played On 11/15/2017my 4some likes this track
longer course, so play up a tee box as jack recommends. a good variety of hole layouts here. greens a bit slow, but it is November and they are nicely healed from the aeration. bunkers have nice powdery sand (at least the ones I was in). no complaints and we will be back.
Cedar Ridge Golf Course
Played On 10/18/2017had fun - greens a bit fuzzy and slow
greens were not up to the usual quality. some bumpy bouncy putts. they did aerate a few weeks ago, so that healing process is part of it, but there were some brown dead spots also. not sure what is going on with customer service, but if there is any alteration in anything these pro-shop guys are getting intolerable in general. we needed to get off 45 min. prior to our original tee-time and new it would not be busy. there were 6 cars in the parking lot, and the guy scolded us and told us not to do this again, etc., etc., etc., said he would have to charge us more money. everyone laughed, but then he said it two more times. gave us two cart keys and then took them back, talked to us some more, and gave us the two keys. said he would get us out early and hoped that he did not get in trouble, and that we screwed up the tee sheet. again, the course was empty. on the turn we had one cart that was dying and we needed to switch out. guy said that he had called to boss and everything was okay. i just can't handle this kind of drama at the course.

Played On 08/02/2017staff guy was a jerk
upon arrival my 4some parked (in front of the new pro shop) and walked over to where the old pro shop was located to find it empty and locked. we then checked several doors around the building until we got to the other side where the new pro shop is now located. we entered and the employee ask us how we liked our walk, to several laughs from his buddies on the other side of the room. i said, why don't you have a sign on the old door that the pro shop has moved, and he quipped "well, if you played here more you would know where the pro shop was". nice
this employee is doing no favors for the course ownership. we have many course choices in this area.
Cumberland Golf Club
Played On 07/12/2017great experience except for ground crew
our group has a great experience at this course. today we did experience something that none of us have ever seen before. the greens mower was holding us up, then he waved for us to hit from 125 yards whilst he was sitting between us and the pin. aside from the distraction he was making, we were afraid that one of use would hit him. he finally moved away and we hit our shots, but he looked very displeased with us.
Lebanon Valley Golf Course
Played On 07/05/2017great scenic views
our groups first time playing here and we will be back soon. great variety of holes. some reachable par 4's, but risk/reward really makes you think about laying up. fast but fair greens. you will have many uneven lies, as course has many slopes. great test of your complete game.
Cumberland Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2017behind 5some on first hole
our 4some likes this course, but they allowed a 5some to tee off before us on the first hole. after a few holes of really slow play, i ask them about the 5some, and they said it was permitted. they then allowed us to play though. smooth sailing after that. course in great shape.
Blue Mountain View Golf Course
Played On 06/07/2017my group want to play again
my 4some had a great time with putting on these difficult greens. a simple chip a few feet too far would put you off the other side of the green. fun watching others do that, after you warned them not to. we did encounter 4 groups on the same par 5 hole on the back 9, so play was slow for just the last several holes. there is always that one group.
Cumberland Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2017greens in terrific shape
greens and sand bunkers in nice shape. not much to complain about here.
Iron Valley Golf Club
Played On 04/19/2017pete dye and co.
diabolical - P.B. Dye designed course is a must play if in central PA. hills and uneven lies await. green putted very nice. lots of character. consider taking jack's advice and playing one tee box up from your normal.
under construction
course is undergoing construction due to new housing development. some holes closed, some made into par 3's, etc. our group still had fun, as 3 of them had never played here before. i would recommend waiting for all the updates to be completed, unless you have a tolerance for the construction. fairways were great, but the greens were just aerated.
Grandview Golf Course
Played On 03/29/2017old style charm
my foursome likes this course, and it is a regular in our rotation. a good variation in holes and greens. has some wet areas, but very little paved cart paths, so no cart path only is possible. brand new restaurant and bar. also, the club house was being remodeled whilst we were there.
Sunset Golf Course
Played On 03/08/2017govt. made them cut all the trees!!!!
hopefully, subset can figure out how to make a success out of the current situation. from what i was told the govt. made them cut all of the trees due to the airport. makes not sense to anyone that i spoke with about it. it looked like a tornado or bomb hit. some holes closed and the course was entirely unrecognizable. anyway, always loved the course and hope they can figure it out. perhaps, now a links style course.
Heritage Hills Golf Resort
Played On 02/08/2017are greens Poa annua grass.
my 4some was very excited about this round. we will be playing here more now. we went off at 8:22 and 2 walkers immediately ask us to play through. very nice, and we flew through our round without waiting on any hole. being a perfect 60 degrees, it was enjoyable. the greens looked like moss and different colors, etc., (like pebble beach Poa annua grass) but boy did the ball roll true. absolutely some of the best around. we were able to get the speed down and made some putts. hilly course, so some nice views as we made our way around. enough water and sand to keep your attention. some very well hidden, so keep an eye out.
Honey Run Golf Club
Played On 02/06/2017not bad for February in central PA
nice day, so had to get out. others had the same idea, as parking lot had many vehicles. my twosome went off at 12:30 and played 2 holes before hitting a slow 3some (other side of fairway and waiting for turn to hit, walking back and forth for clubs, you name it). we noticed a foursome in front of them, so we new the pace would be slowing down for us. however, we noticed an empty course behind us, so went back 3 holes and played two par 5's and par 3 again. we then planned to skip the last 3 holes. we caught the 3some again before finishing the front nine. the foursome in front of them, nowhere to be seen. would not let us play through. so, in the end we got in our 18 holes, but it was one of those days.
Eagles Crossing Golf Course
Played On 08/17/2016greens have character
good all around course. sloping/tiered greens lots of fun.
many open fairways. after 4 holes, older electric cart changed out for one with more power, still older model and was noticeably slow on uphill grades. also, tried one that was sitting there completely dead.
Par Line Golf Course
Played On 04/20/2016ignore common sense and follow rigid rules
our weekly senior 4-some bought golfnow hot deal for 1:30 tee-time, and then later we had request by one person in our group to go out a bit earlier. so, we arrive early at noon-time, knowing that the course will not be busy. we were ask to wait until 1:30 or to re-book to an earlier time (over double the initial cost). in the time we waited, we saw very few golfers tee-off. my opinion, poor customer service. i think a stern warning and a one time exception would have been the way to go. lesson learned.
also, whilst waiting, we recalled several other instances over the years where we needed to arrive either early or late, and had no problems at courses other than this one. my bad for not calling the pro-shop asap, as i normally would. i wonder if we were late to our tee-time, if we would have to pay again...
ignore common sense and follow rigid rules...
Dauphin Highlands Golf Course
Played On 04/06/2016one of my group favorites
my weekly group and i really like this course. staff was nice and got us out way earlier than our tee time. ranger was on duty, so that is nice on busy days to speed play. course has great layout. nice big greens with character.
