Great

Played as a single early in the AM. Probably one of the nicest courses I have played in the Hilton Head area. Lot of water so bring plenty of balls. Loved the layout. Very scenic and fair. Carries over water on many holes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Absolutely wonderful

Was raining when I began and most had cancelled for the day so I played alone. Despite the rain, for the first 9 holes, I did enjoy this course. Conditions were good despite not being mowed for a couple days because of the rain. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely would return. Very nice layout and fair for the recreational player.

Good Venue

Was a single and paired with another single. Had not played this course in about 4 years. Was pretty fast through the 1st 9, then got behind a 5-some and came to a stall. The pair behind us caught up and we teamed with them. Course was in pretty good condition. Greens well maintained. Everything is dead level on the fairways. Definitely will play this course again.

Good recreational course

I have played this course regularly over the past 15 years. They don't require a tee time and for the most part I usually play there alone just to work on my game, and they don't mind that. Course is usually busy during the winter months, but seldom busy in the summer. The driving range is great and also have a nice putting green. Staff is generally super friendly. If you are looking for a pristine place to play, this is not it. But if you want good value for your money, this is the place.

Great Course

From the time I arrived until I left this was one of the best golf experiences I have ever had. Staff was super friendly and overly helpful. Played alone, which was ok as this was my first time on this course. Conditions were immaculate. Probably one of the best, if not the best, courses I have played. Very friendly layout for the recreational golfer. Lot of water, but very fair landing areas. Definitely on my "play again" list.

Nice course, but slow play

Played in the early AM. It was listed as FAST play, but was anything but. 4 some in front of me waited for each person to play. No such thing as "ready golf". Finally skipped a hole to pass them. By the time I finished, they were 4 holes behind me.
Course was nice, but would have liked to have a little map at the Tees to show the layout. Otherwise, I did enjoy it, but would go to Gatlinburg again and not here.
Staff was super friendly. I had forgotten my wallet and they let me play anyway. Called with my credit card after returning to my condo.

Wonderful!

Great course. Conditions were great despite the rain recently. Very well maintained. Nothing hidden. Would say this is a very fair course for the recreational golfer. Fairways are wide. Would have liked to have a picture layout of the holes at the tee boxes as this was the first time I played here. Lost a ball at #7 because I did not see the hidden creek in front of the green. Would really recommend this course.

Great value

Considering the cost of golf in the Hilton Head area, this was a very good value. Lot of rain recently meant VERY wet conditions. The fairways were wet, but the greens were in great condition. Overall layout is very fair to the recreational golfer and was a lot of fun. Pace of play was steady.
Very friendly staff. Yes, play here.

Fun layout. Many blind shots.

Was my first time at this course. I read all the negative review and am left wondering if they were about this course. No, it is not pristine, but for under $30, what course is. Fairways were in good shape. Rough was up to US Open standards. Except for the 16th, the greens were all in good condition and were true. Staff was very helpful. I arrived at 7:30 for an 8:04 tee time and they let me right on. They gave me directions on the course layout and which holes may have some standing water on the fairways (it had just rained). The course layout has a number of hills and some carries over water. It was very enjoyable to play.

Good value for the money.

I have played this course over the last 18 years. Unfortunately it is not in the condition it was 12-18 years ago. Greens are true and bunkers are in good condition. Grounds need a lot of attention. Looks like a nice course past it's prime.

Challenging layout

Played as a single early AM. Not as fast as I had hoped but still finished in 4 hrs. Course was wet, wet, wet, so cart path only. Fairways in decent condition and greens very good. The course almost felt like two different courses. Front nine was interesting, then the first few holes on the back almost felt like another designer did them. Would have helped to have hole descriptions,at,each tee as it was somewhat difficult to know where to aim. Greens were challenging and moderately fast. Overall enjoyed the course. Lot of bunkers and waste areas.
