Shadow Mountain Golf Club
Played On 12/14/2019Fun shorter course
This old course takes you back to the good old days when courses were shorter, greens were smaller, and not a lot of trouble. Fun to play. The ladies tees don't have much of an advantage, however, so they play long for most women.
Greens can be tricky, got to stay below the hole, especially on those that are up against the south mountain. They can be lightning fast.
Heritage Palms Golf Club
Played On 12/05/2019FUN COURSE
Wide fairways, excellent greens and tee boxes, several tee box lengths to choose from so user friendly for everyone.
Sand was perfect, fairway lies perfect, rough just right length.
Highly recommend, we will play there again.
Hemet Golf Club
Played On 11/06/2019ON THE DOWNHILL
This course has a pretty good layout, tee boxes are OK, Greens are very good.
The rest just sucks. Fairways are either dry or soggy, not consistent on the mowing, weeds everywhere. And the rough is more like a natural landscape in the desert. Sand traps as just dirt.
Course is losing money obviously and maintenance is at an all time low.
Getting ready to close the doors is my prediction.
The price through golf now is great, but still not worth it in my opinion.
Oasis Country Club
Played On 11/02/2019SEASON OPENER
I great shape for just opening for the season. Very busy, all the homeowners are back.
Enjoyable executive course with a couple of challenging par 3's and lots of water to be found. Take an extra sleeve of balls if you aren't a consistent straight hitter.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 10/29/2019BIKINI WAXED GREENS
Fast, true, hard to read and putt, these greens are the biggest challenge for the course. Many are elevated and heavily guarded with traps, several can't be seen from the fairway unless you hit it 300 yards past the dogleg.
HEY course operators, how about a ball washer or two on the course. NONE to be seen and not one on the cart either.
Fairway traps are dirt and rocks, greenside not much better. New sand in traps, ball washers, and this course would be top rated.
Starter was very fun and informative.
Mountain Vista Golf Club - San Gorgonio Course
Played On 10/18/2019Wide Open Fairways, challenging greens
Course still recovering from the summer so some bare spots in fairways and around the greens. New, white, soft sand in the traps, beautiful to look at, need a shovel to get out of.
Greens were hard and running fast, but putting true.
Overall a good value and a decent design.
Biggest complaint is there is no clubhouse or facility at the turn.
South at Admiral Baker Golf Course
Played On 09/24/2019Fairway? We don't need no stinking fairways .
Bulldozed, leveled and reseed on the south course and it would be a decent track. Greens were so so, recently punched and fertilized, running slow. Tee boxes a little torn up in places. Cart ran out of juice on 11, shop sent replacement out. Nice, new carts with GPS. I'd play it again in the spring, see if grass grows over the winter.
Woodhaven Country Club
Played On 05/12/2019Short and Sweet
Course is in the best condition I've seen it in years. Played as a twosome in 3.5 hours.
Greens are good speed, but don't hold real well, typical in the desert. Traps are crusty, more of a chip shot than blast to get out.
Play it now, before it browns out during the summer.
Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
Played On 03/17/2019Greased Lightning
The greens were exceptionally fast. Hard to keep approach shots on the green and putts sort of the hole. Everything ran way past. Leave your head cover on the putter.
Date Palm Country Club
Played On 03/09/2019Fun Short Course
Some longer par 3's, but all short par 4's. A good course to work on your short game. Sand was very good. Greens are smooth, a little slow today, but overall in good condition.
Oasis Country Club
Played On 12/24/2019Great condition
Nice executive course with variety of holes, distances, and LOTS of water. Have fun
Hemet Golf Club
Played On 10/23/2019Great greens
Some of the smoothest greens around, and big. Rest of course needs some tlc, especially fairways and tee boxes. Sand traps are hard.
Challenging layout, tho, so is fun to play.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 10/31/2018Wide Open but Greens will Challenge
Fairways as wide as the 405 freeway, you feel embarrassed if you miss one. The real challenge is fairway bunkers, green-side bunkers and the greens themselves. Smooth and FAST, with so many subtle breaks and influences by the hillsides and gullies, they are difficult to read and putt. You can hit a downhill 15 footer 10 feet past if you aren't careful. Walk around the hole every time...or get surprised!
Will definitely be back.
Shadow Hills Golf Club - North Par-3 Course
Played On 10/27/2018PAR 3 COURSE YOU HAVE TO PLAY
Looking for a challenging short course. Well hitch up your pants and give this one a try. From the blue tees, this is no push over par 3 course. Back 9 gets long, with couple of holes over 200 yards. There is more than enough water and sand traps for everyone in your group to hit into. Bring a couple of sleeves of balls if you are less than an intermediate golfer. You will need them!
Only reason not a 5 on course conditions as greens were recently sanded. By the way, they are huge and if you don't get on the right side or level, 3 putts come a running.
Hemet Golf Club
Played On 10/21/2018Tarnished Jewel of a Course
A great Curly/Schmitt design that has been allowed to deteriorate in maintenance and upkeep. It's sad.
The greens are great for the most part, large and smooth and fairly fast. Tee box to green however reflect neglect, lack of money, or just poor management.
Fairway cuts are erratic, rough is mix of whatever, no sand in the sand traps(just hard dirt). This could be an excellent track with the proper care.
Winding among the houses lining the fairway(they don't intrude and are hardly noticeable) landing areas are usually defined by large fairway traps, as are the greens. A few lakes also contribute to the overall visual(although one of them was practically dry).
Told by one employee that the water bill was $40K a month, in my opinion that could be cut by 25% or more just by doing some simple landscape changes(more desert scape, less grass around tee boxes and between tees and fairways, along the fairways. Spend a 100K to save 10K a month forever.

9 holes closed, which was not indicated in the registration process. Closing course completely on Oct 1.
Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort - North/South
Played On 09/24/2018West to North
Greens were in excellent condition, held and putted true.
Don't be fooled into thinking you can hit it up on the hills on the right and it will come down to the fairway. It won't, but you may find several balls while looking for yours. Just won't find yours.
White tees are fairly short, especially the par 3's and some 4's.
I'll play it again.
Date Palm Country Club
Played On 09/14/2018closed hole
One hole was closed while repairs being done to lake, no information to that effect when we booked.

Played On 04/14/2018Indio Golf Club
Played On 03/11/2018Bump and grind
Be advised this is a poorly kept muni, with lots of total beginners on the course. Greens in poor condition, tee boxes even worse.
If all you want to do is practice your irons, this is ok, Don't worry about putting and chipping, because you won't really know how you are doing.
No sand traps, and water really not in play. Hard to get perspective of the greens with little backdrop and no indicators.
I won't be back.
