Number One at Brookside Golf Club
Played On 12/01/2017Stay far away
Zero organization - no attempt to speed play- they send groups of 5 out weekday days included.
I live 2 miles from there - kept trying once or twice a year.
I give up - never again.
American Golf and City of Pasadena should both be ashamed of this mess.
Number One at Brookside Golf Club
Played On 09/21/2014I will give it another try
Decent times were scarce and a couple in our group wanted to jump on the 7:58 AM time for #1.
Greens were punched - no warning on Golf Now. Starter said it was three weeks ago but several regulars were going out on # 2 and said greens are still not good.
My problem with Brookside #1 or # 2 is always the pace of play. Every single time I have played there it is terrible. Not normal muni slow - BAD!
Anyway Sunday was a shocker. We played in near 4 hours. We played without delay till we caught a threesome on #8. Back nine played with little to no delay.
Greens are slow and bumpy and look to be a couple weeks from good.
Tees are serviceable if not funky. Some of them it takes some real looking to find a flat lie if you can.
.Fairways are just ok - some areas under repair , some mud holes and torn up areas.
Bunkers are the heavy grainy sand and in good condition.
Although the details and condition are iffy , the course is a nice track and a good test. Blue's are 6800 and the layout is really not bad.
We move around week to week and see a fair number of courses. If they can make the place run at 4.0 to 4.5 hours we would hit it every 3rd to 5th week.
Try it again in a few weeks.
