Edgewater Golf Club
Played On 05/05/2018I wish I could give it 6 stars!
AMAZING! The course is such a visual treat. No two holes are the same. Lots of elevation changes. The greens are great. Absolutely fabulous place! It's four hours away from my house and we're already planning a trip back. Staff was great and really friendly. Very peaceful when out on the course, it's awesome.
Compass Pointe Golf Course
Played On 03/24/2018AWESOME course!
This is a great course! It's kept up really well. The practice facilities are amazing (multiple putting greens and short game areas). The staff is always friendly. Has a restaurant/bar on site. Food is great. The pace of pay was a little slow today but hasn't been an issue in the past. Greens roll fast but true. Challenging holes make you think before you hit shots. Definitely enjoy playing here.

This is a great course! Accurate tee shots are rewarded with excellent scoring opportunities. The greens roll fast but true. There are some very unique holes that are a lot of fun to play! I really love this course!
The Emerald Golf Club
Played On 03/19/20177:54 tee time, staff didn't show until after 8am
We arrived at 7:30 for our 7:54 tee time hoping to be able to hit a few balls and get loose. The doors were locked when we got there. We talked in the parking lot for a bit and then putted. It wasn't until about 8:00 that someone got inside and unlocked the place. We were on a time crunch so we couldn't push back in order to warm up. The course was very soggy but they let us take the carts on the fairways. Even under the soggy conditions the course was very nice. It's a challenge and forces you to think on a lot of holes. Greens rolled really smooth and were true. I'm going to come back, hopefully they'll be open when I get there.
Pines/Sands at Star Hill Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/20/2014Nice change of pace.
The course makes you think on almost every shot, which I really appreciate. If you pull driver every hole, you'll find yourself with some short shots into the green, but you can also find yourself in a lot of unnecessary trouble. Lay up off the tee to a comfortable distance and you can really attack the course. The greens were rolling GREAT! They were soft, but quick and true. As we played later in the day there were some indentions around the hole but nothing terrible. I booked two people through golfnow.com and ended up getting a third to come along, but the third had to pay $69 because I didn't pre-book it. $45 is a decent value for this course, but $69 is too high. Overall a fun test, but I won't play if it's more than $45.
