Regular stop for me. Always in good shape, and always a humbling experience for me. Beautiful course, great layout, very good condition. Staff is top notch as you would expect. Course is not easy, but worth the money for the treatment you get, and the shape its in. I definitely reccomend to anyone who wants a challenge and a course thats well maintained. Pace of play is very good. Just under 4 hours for a 4some with groups in front and behind.
Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 02/21/2021Disappointing
I have been playing this course for more a decade. A regular stop and one of my absolute favorites every year. I was thoroughly disappointed in the condition of the course. I know weather has been a bit crazy down here las few weeks, but I have been here during more inconsistent weather patterns. Greens were choppy at best. Fairways patchy. Usually you can count on the condition of both 18 hole courses to be excellent. Panther Lake is my favorite of the two 18 hole courses. Greens were beat up pretty bad, not in great shape at all. I know thy get alot of play, but they always do. I understand pandemic and weather, but there was plenty of play and not a lot of maintenance seemingly. I didnt pay a premium, but I paid enough to expect much better from OCN. This was always one I really looked forward too while I winter in central Fl. Maybe just a fluke, but I wont be back this year. Needs to be in better shape to justify the price, prestige, and drive when considering all the options within 30 miles.
Thank you for reviewing Orange County National! We want the opportunity to get 5-stars on your next visit! Please let our staff know how we can make your experience more enjoyable!
Providence Golf Club
Played On 02/20/2021Pleasantly surprised
I was hesitant because of price and some of the reviews but was happy with value for the money. Course was in good shape, greens, fairways, bunkers. Not a difficult course but nice layout and fun to play. A bit slow playing for my liking, but I am a fast player. Aesthetically, not very much to look at, lots of houses, lost of construction, but the course itself is absolutely fine. I have paid much more in the area for much less. Pro shop personnel were extremely friendly and pleasant, which is very hard to find in this area this time of year.. I would highly recommend, and plan on making it a regular stop for me.
Camelia/Boganvilia Golf Course at Cleveland Heights Golf Club
Played On 02/14/2021No longer can be called a golf course
In town several weeks a year on business. Played here several times 6 years ago or so. Good public course then. Now, well, you get less than you pay for. I was completely disappointed in the condition of the course. To say course was poorly maintained is a massive understatement. The greens are completely lost. Look badly diseased, very sparse grass on them. Mostly compacted mud with varying lengths of very unhealthy grass. I can't overstate how horrendous the condition of the greens are. A few decent fairways, but even they were very poorly kept. Mostly weeds mixed with hard pan bare spots. Bunkers looked like they haven't been raked or maintained in years( don't dare use COVID as excuse for the bunker condition management!), very little sand, and all compacted to cement hardness with parts caving in. It's sad to see as the course itself has good bones. Promising layout with some decent surrounding aesthetics. I understand its $32 and a municipal course, but to let it get to this condition is complete neglect and total ineptitude by management. Stay away. Its basically a severely overpriced driving range at this point. Sad to see. Management/city should be ashamed. Anyone that gives this course a higher rating either is a friend of someone who works there, or knows absolutely nothing about decent golf courses. Weather, rain, droughts, none of those can be used as an excuse. Complete and absolute neglect is the one and only cause.
Thanks for your feedback Jay. We have and are addressing the issues as we had a root fungus mixed with high counts of nematoads. The cold and wet weather conditions have not been our friend turning things around. We are sorry that you had a poor golf experience, but things will be turned around over the next 60 days. Thank you for playing Azalea/Camelia Golf Course at Cleveland Heights Golf Club and we hope to see you again soon.
Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge
Played On 03/14/2019Just average
Greens good pace. Conditions average. Cart path only for some strange reason. Made it not very enjoyable, hard to play a course for first time as cart path only. Gps is useless on this occassion. Inside bartender was der lady who obviously hated her job. Very unfriendly and would dissapear for long periods. Ashsme for a JW Marriott and Palmer sig
nature course.. bev cart was friendly but ran out of a few brands. Overall, a $75 course. Much better options. Pace of play 4:55.
Red at Gleneagles Country Club
Played On 07/05/2014time for condos
Not a golf course. Glorified driving range. $58 for 18 holes on a 5500 yard farm? Thats all it is folks. Flat wide open with rye grass for fairway, rough, and greens. Greens just happen to be cut skightly shorter than fairway and rough. You have to be crazy to golf here knowing that in advance. Save $10 and go to big run. If this is to remain a golf course and not turned into a strip mall, corn field, or condos, then it is worth no more than $20 for greens fees. This course is the reason public golf is dyeing. Overpriced, overbooked, and poorly managed facility. Stay away!!
George W Dunne National Golf Course
Played On 08/21/2012Best layout on south side!
Excellent course! Great layout, very challenging. Over 7k yards from tips, huge greens and none are flat, roll really well and kept in great shape. tough to find a more challenging back 9. only downside is pace of play, not many courses around this area of this quality and they pack the golfers in. Expect 5 hours plus MINIMUM unless you are teeing it up at sunrise.
Great! Thank you for visiting us at Mystic Dunes Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
