Rocky River Golf Club at Concord
Played On 6/9/2013Good Shape After Rain
The new greens are starting to mature and are rolling true. The area has received a lot of rain over the past few weeks and the course seemed to have drained well. If you haven't played this course, there is not much forgiveness. If you miss the fairway, you most likely will have to take a drop, so it is a great challenge. Also, if you are a UNCC student they offer student discounts during the week.
Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
Played On 5/17/2013I just found my course for the summer.
Beautiful and awesome track but the pace was slow. I think it had more to do with circumstance than anything, I was a single behind 3 threesomes. This is a great course with awesome greens. A yardage book is a must for the first timer like I was. One standout is the amount of carry necessary from the back tees to hit the fairway. It seemed like i was carrying 200+ off most tees. I can't wait to play this course again.
Pinetuck Golf Course
Played On 1/12/2013You can do better
I paid $34 to play and it should have been $20. The clubhouse is a shack that has random stuff just laying around and is straight out of 1993. If you are a serious golfer then you can do better for your dollar. Pretty much avoid this place at all costs.
Verdict Ridge Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/09/2012Brand new greens are great
This is one of my favorite courses in the Charlotte area. The grounds are always in great shape. Playing from the Blues allows for a fun round that provides good scoring chances. From the Blacks, the course becomes challenging with several long par 3s that offer little bail out area. The new greens are rolling true and were a great addition to the course. Great value!
