Good experience, good value

The front 9 and back 9 are two distinct courses that combine for a fantastic experience. The Open Pines front 9 offers fairly wide fairways and plenty of playable landing areas off the tees, giving way to challenging but manageable greens. Conversely, the back 9 requires more accuracy from the tees, with trees lining the fairways and Harding the greens. Quality drives and approaches should be rewarded with low scores. The greens have plenty of break, but they’re very readable. Despite the break, the greens are fairly straightforward and easy to read, so two-putts shouldn’t be too difficult. When I played, the course was fairly crowded, but the pace of play was impressive. I was riding solo and managed to finish my round in about 4 hours despite the course being packed. The corse is well-designed and well-maintained. It’s not quite a country club experience, but the value for the money is fantastic. Pine View is one of my go to courses if I’m looking for a fun but moderately challenging round at a good price. I will be back again soon!

Great Value, Surprisingly Fun

I normally don’t play par 3/4 courses, but I’m glad I played Georgetown. My expectations were unusually low after seeing the considerably modest green fees, but I was pleasantly surprised by the course. The abundance of par 3s could have felt repetitive, but the distances and layouts varied enough from hole to hole to give each hole a distinct feel. Well-placed bunkers help keep the course interesting and engaging for experienced golfers without ruining the fun for novices and kids. Bunker maintenance was not up to par with the rest of the course, as some bunkers had piles of weeds growing in them, but I’ve seen far worse on other comparable courses. In general, the grass was adequately maintained, though some spots on and around a few greens could have used a facelift. If you’re looking for a premier golf experience, you’ll probably be a little underwhelmed. But if you’re looking for a more well-rounded golf experience than you get at a driving range but you don’t want to break the bank, then Georgetown CC is an ideal option. The quality of my experience absolutely exceeded my expectations based on the price I paid, and I look forward to returning in the future!
