Alberni Golf Club
Played On 09/21/2020Rough round
The course conditions and weather were as expected but the pace of play was awful for a weekday. We waited on every hole for the group in front of us and there was nobody in front of them after the second hole. They never considered letting our threesome through and there were no course attendants anywhere all day. I finally had to phone the pro shop after one of them hit our tee shot back at us on the 15th hole (wasn't close to them). A course employee came out and explained the process of letting us play through on the 16th hole. We thought we were clear of them but on the 18th hole they shot a ball in our direction from the 17th tee - which was 90 degrees from their green. A roaming course attendant might have prevented trouble but some people shouldn't be allowed out on a course.
Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club
Played On 08/28/2020Pleasantly surprised
After playing this course I can see why they were chosen to host the provincial seniors amateur event month. Great layout with variety and privacy of holes. Tough greens to read but nice and big. Clubhouse has a large outside deck so a safe lunch with an ocean view!

I finally had time to book a round at the Sunshine Coast GC on a recent visit t0 Gibsons. You can’t see much of the course from the highway but what a nice surprise! Great variety of holes winding through quiet coastal forest and in very good condition. White tees played long enough for us but the blues could add another 400 yards. They have a huge patio so no problem with taking all necessary Covid precautions. As Arnold says “I’ll be back!”
Alberni Golf Club
Played On 07/26/2017Long time
It had been at least 10 years since I played Alberni GC - we had trouble remembering how to find it The pro shop was friendly and set us up with a local member as a threesome. The course and weather were good - not so much with the scoring We had a quick bite afterwards - good homemade food. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Coyote Springs Golf Club
Played On 02/19/2017I'll be back
The course was in great condition despite an inch of rain the day before. Pace of play was great - we couldn't keep up to the threesome in front of us so we let a twosome play through our foursome. I'd only played the course once before but I remembered a lot of the holes because they're distinctive. There is a modest little restaurant that made us breakfast and everyone at the golf course tries hard to meet your needs.
Bear's Best Las Vegas
Played On 02/17/2017Lucky
We waited out some bad weather and got in a quick round because most golfers cancelled. Great overall playing conditions with wide variety in hole design. 800 yards longer from white to blue tees. The layout is spread out amongst a lot of impressive houses, but they're not in play.
TPC Las Vegas
Played On 02/16/2017Expectations
This course always meets my expectations but doesn't exceed them. Great practice area, well stocked pro shop, 10 minute tee times. There are a few holes where the houses or the highway traffic noise are a distraction. Its important to pick the correct tees taking into account the weather conditions.
Boulder Creek Golf Club - Coyote Run/Eldorado Valley
Played On 02/15/2017Worth the drive
This was my third time playing Boulder Creek, and the pace of play and course conditions have been consistently very good. Everyone working at the course is friendly and helpful, as are the local players. Its good value for a round - even with the Cdn Dollar exchange!
Cottonwood Golf Course
Played On 10/12/2013Great greens for this time of year
The course conditions were good - especially for this late in the season. There were a few novice golfers on the course that slowed pace of play and the course attendant wasn't very helpful in moving them along so we skipped a hole to bypass them. Overall a great value for the money and we'll be back.
Sunstone Golf Club
Played On 8/2/2013The Meadows is a nice alternative to the pricey courses around Whistler
The Meadows has a great view of Mt Currie and is half the price of the other course in Pemberton. The fairways are generous and well maintained, and the greens were great. The only downer was the lack of service in the restaurant afterwards - we actually left after 15 minutes and no one had offered us menus or a glass of water. But overall the course is worth the drive.
Arrowsmith Golf and Country Club
Played On 7/13/2013Big challenging greens.
As long as the pace of play is maintained, this course provides a good tune up for your short game in a peaceful country setting.
Sometimes expectations can be exceeded by simply meeting them! Thank you for regularly playing our club and sharing your experience. We look forward to having you back!
