I've been playing Sycuan regularly for a few years. The greens are usually somewhat different and bumpy but I tolerate it, because I like the layout.
But as of September, this course is unplayable. The tee boxes are chewed up and full of weeds, the greens are plugging, dead slow and agonizingly bumpy. Not to mention the large scars on just about every surface.

Months if not a year before I'll be back. Casino money must've dried up. Too bad.

Most pleasantly surprised with our round today. The greens are smooth and firm, and the fairways are green. What else can you ask for this time of year?
Seems that every other course in the area are either preparing or recovering from overseeding and aerification. But the underrated Mt. Woodson is plush & healthy tee to green.

If long carrys from the tee and tight tee shots isn't your preferred layout. I understand, it's not the easiest. But jf your looking for a well kept challenge this fall, look no further.
